Barefoot Cottages in Port St. Joe, FL

Florida Cottage reaches full potential

The Hidalgos had high hopes when their previous vacation rental management company was sold to Vacasa. With the local team at their side, they haven’t been disappointed.graph showing bookings and rental profits with VacasaLocated on Florida’s Forgotten Coast, the Barefoot Cottage is a quaint home only a mile away from sparkling white sand beaches. With a shared pool and hot tub, this little cottage is a charming retreat with resort-like amenities.

Big Changes Afoot

With all of these features, Dave and Sandy Hidalgo knew their home was one-of-a-kind and would do well in the vacation rental market. But in working with two different management companies, the Hidalgos weren’t getting the unique care they felt their home deserved.

Fortunately, they didn’t have to go searching for a different solution—one came to them instead. In 2016, Vacasa took on the management of the Barefoot Cottage, along with 27 other homes.

“Everyone at Vacasa seems to really care about us and our property. There’s a sense of urgency, and commitment to get things done.”
– Dave Hidalgo, Vacasa Homeowner

 A Company That Cares

With Vacasa, the Hidalgos knew they had found the right company to manage the Barefoot Cottage.

“The local team has been superbly helpful and efficient in all categories of their job. They look after our investment as if it were their own,” said Dave. “We have peace of mind that all facets of the extreme diligence it takes to run an operation such as Vacasa are being handled by good people.”
