I very much liked the property. My wife used the nice kitchen to make an amazing dinner and we had a very nice time in the big living room area. Also the view was very pretty.

View was amazing and had plenty of room for our 8 people. Beds weren’t the most comfortable but we had a great time. Had everything we needed.

Had a wonderful time here! Beatiful views and plenty of space for large families and groups!

The view is great and there is plenty of room throughout. However, two doors into the house were inoperable, and the gates on the patios were hanging. Several light bulbs throughout were dead, and the hanging lights on the deck areas are inoperable. No cold water in the master suite, at least there is hot water... The Keurig needs to be replaced as it's clearly never been cleaned and made your coffee impossible to drink because of the smell. There are no basic extras, like salt and pepper, non-stick spray for the pans, paper plates or plastic utensils, blankets, etc. Common things you find throughout other VRBO/Air BnB rentals. The hammock pictured is nowhere to be found and the "hot tub" water had a foul odor. I really hope the management company or owners put some work into this place. We'd love to return but other rentals in the area we checked out seem to be in better condition and offering a better experience.
Manager response:
We appreciate this feedback and are sorry to see this guest was displeased with some aspects of their stay. The two doors this guest were unable to use are for owner use only. We have replaced the light bulbs and removed the coffee maker. We have removed the picture of the hammock, and the hot tub is cleaned and balanced the day before each guest check in. Thank you!

Nice house but older than photos showed. Problems with some of the lights working and then not working. Not hot water downstairs. Convenient location.

This house certainly has a lot of potential to be a great retreat. Unfortunately that was not our experience on our visit.

We experienced an UNACCEPTABLE incident at this property, that ended up making a very much anticipated Mother’s Day weekend quite disappointing! We were three couples who were greatly looking forward what looked like a lovely retreat.

Guests who were to use the downstairs bedroom ended up not being able to sleep down there and one guest ended up driving back home, which was more than an hour away.

Fleas were prominent in the lower level of the home, and several guests were bitten. One to the point of extensive bites on both her legs. The bed on the lower level was completely infested with them, as was the bathroom and shower stall.

Additional deficiencies were:
(1) The vanity sink in the bedroom off of the kitchen leaks. So the water is turned off underneath the sink. Therefore in order to use the sink, guests have to turn on the water pipes under the sink and then turn them back off or else the water will constantly leak.
(2) The hot tub water smells bed and looks disgusting.
(3) One of the dining table chairs had a missing brace. Someone could easily fall or the chair break.
(4) The rocking recliner in the living was quite dirty and looked as if someone spilled a drink down the right side of that chair w/o wiping it clean.
(5) The floors here on the main level were sticky and dirty in some spots.
(6) The kitchen sink smelled foul. We had to it out with dish detergent to alleviate the odor.
(7) Several ceiling fans and/or their lights do not work.

This home has a great view of the lake, and can indeed be a great getaway and accommodate multiple guests. However, not under the conditions that were unfortunately experienced on our visit.
Manager response:
The property manager was able to address all the maintenance concerns presented in this review, and housekeeping has taken care of the floors. Thank you!

The house had many places to sleep and the view of the lake was great. One evening we even spotted some deer.

Our group of 6 teachers thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The decks and the views were beautiful. We had ample space and nice amenities. Great location!

Dirtier than most. Made 3 maintenance calls for a broken item and no repairs made at all.

We booked this house for 11 people for Thanksgiving as a central location for several families to meet. The location is great and the view of the lake from the decks is wonderful. It was great to sit and have coffee every morning and enjoy the view. The house is easy to access and the neighborhood is very quiet and pleasant. Lots of deer running around so be careful.

There was plenty of space for everyone. The house appears to have been added on several times so the layout is a little odd but the main living room area had a lot of room for us to hang out and the deck space is huge. There are lots of stairs so consider this is if you have pets or guests with mobility issues. We brought dishes with us as we were making several big meals, but the kitchen was fairly stocked with all the basic tools you would need.

The house has some years and there are some loose board and slats on the decks to watch out for. Also, the hot tub was definitely not working and smelled bad so our kids were really disappointed they couldn't use it. This showed up in another review but I guess it hasn't been fixed yet.

Our biggest complaint was the housekeeping. The rugs in the bathrooms were very dirty when we arrived so we had to wash them. The floors appeared clean but after walking around for few hours, our feet were very dirty so you can tell the floors had not been mopped between guests. Twin bedding was sparse so we had to use some larger sheets and blankets to make up the beds and the comforters seemed dingy also. Bedding on the daybed and trundle had crumbs on it so I don't think the bedding had been washed after the last guest. The garbage disposal smelled bad when we arrived, perhaps since it had not been used in a while but got better the more we used it.

We most likely would stay here again if the housekeeping issues were taken care of. It was hard to find a house for 11 people with just the right bedroom accommodations and this one worked very well for us. Our family and friends had a great time.

I almost don't want to write this review, not because it wasn't an amazing time but because I want to keep the secret safe. Who knew how nice canyon lake could be. 10/10 would rent again.

The location of this house is absolutely fantastic. We stayed with 6 adults and 5 kids and had an excellent time. On the downside, it is a bit on the expensive side...

The stay got off on the wrong foot as there were overfull trash cans tipped over in the driveway and bottle caps were lying about on the back deck. Disappointed, we cleaned up the trash and started the fun.

The kids were eager to try out the hot tub, and did so but reported an unusual smell. We checked it out and determined that indeed, there was a distinctive cabbage / wet leather smell to the tub. Rather than take any chances, we ended further use of the hot tub until we could ascertain the cause.

I called Vacasa and reported both of these issues via voicemail. I received a great, enthusiastic call back from your Oregon office that they would resolve both. Neither happened.

As another couple of minor housekeeping item, the downstairs floor was littered with some sort of fine string/thread that looks like perhaps a cleaning tool had completely unraveled and been left in place. We cleaned that up as well. There was also a dead cockroach on the countertop, which was unpleasant.

As to technology amenities, the house provided free wifi, so we tried to connect to it several times, to no avail. I called Vacasa customer service, which was great, and together we discovered that the owner had recently installed a new wifi router with a different network name and different password. The solution was blind luck as I stumbled upon a cardboard box with a handwritten passcode on it. Having correct wifi info upon arrival would have saved a lot of time and frustration.

We also discovered that the downstairs television was functioning, but the remote control was not. A call into Vacasa, again with great customer service personnel, was unable to resolve the issue so I had to call DirecTV to sort it out. Evidently, the owner had just swapped out DirecTV receivers and the installer had failed to sync the remote to the new receiver. Again, frustrating.

Then we had fun.

On Wednesday night, I saw some movement out of the corner of my eye that turned out to be a possum that had scurried under the couch. That's right, a possum. In the living room. Once I figured out we had an unwelcome guest, there were screams and a little bit of panic by the ladies. Leaving the creature to spend the night indoors seemed like a bad idea, so I had to figure out how to catch/chase/otherwise force the exit of the possum. After some time, we were able to force the possum outside and onto the back deck. By the way, possums don't cooperate and are totally impervious to negotiations. Well, that was fun.

Lastly, when it came time to check out, the housekeeper arrived at 10am. This was another unwelcome surprise as our instructions state that we had until 11am to depart. The housekeeper was exceedingly pleasant, but nonetheless it rushed our departure and made us feel like we were the ones intruding. I was more than a little surprised to step out of the shower to find a stranger in the living room. I'm not sure where those wires got crossed as I have several emails confirming my departure time.

In sum, my experience with Vacasa was good (apart from the unfulfilled promise to address the trash and hot tub), but the experience with the house was really not good. Did I mention the possum? The house wasn't obviously "dirty", and was generally as advertised. It's just that there was a comedy of errors all week, most of which were totally unavoidable.

So there is my feedback. To answer your " how to prevent problems the future...", most solutions are self evident: Be sure the house is tidy. Don't overfill trash cans. Be sure all TVs/tech are operating. Be sure all amenities are clean and working. Be sure to have housekeeping arrive on time. It'd also be nice if the homeowner could leave a broom and other cleaning tools to keep the house tidy while in use. And somebody needs to find out how a possum got in the house, and maybe make sure they don't live there hidden indoors.

p.s. - one annoyance was that the provided coffee maker was of an unusual design that required pods but had no water reservoir. Through trial and error, including lots of mess and overflow, we finally learned how to use it....after we returned to the store to buy pods. The pod-requirement was not stated in the welcome packet, making the ground coffee we brought useless. Pods are fine but instructions near the maker would be helpful as most pod makers operate differently than that one. Also, the two of the four grates on the gas stove don't actually fit on the stove, making some pans lie flat and other tipped towards a corner. Tough to use if you've got more than two burners going, as we did.
Manager response:
We apologize for the inconveniences this guest experienced. They were refunded for their trouble.
