Lakefront, dog-friendly home with private dock and deck!

This peaceful lakefront four-bedroom Florence vacation home offers a stunning panoramic view of Woahink Lake, easygoing country charm, and a private dock for small boats. Just imagine it - relaxing on the expansive deck overlooking the water, enjoying a glass of wine on a summer afternoon. There's even great fishing right from the deck! All of that and you're only only a 15 minute drive from the Oregon Coast's beautiful beaches. Once inside, you'll be treated to a cozy, laid-back interior. After a day out on the water, relax in the plush purple section sofa - pop in a DVD, watch some cable, or listen to music on the stereo. There are a lot of indoor entertainment options here. You can even borrow one of the books from the shelves for some lazy outdoor reading on the deck. And free WiFi access is available, too.

The full kitchen makes preparing meals or cooking up the day's catch easy and convenient. There's even a dishwasher for helping with the clean-up. Whether the whole family helps with mealtimes or one person plays chef, this space makes it easy to get both simple breakfasts and hearty, sit-down meals on the table.

And when it is time to gather everyone around, a dining table overlooks the lake through big corner windows. Of course on nice days, you may opt to eat right out on the deck so you can enjoy the cool breeze off the water. This Oregon coast vacation rental is nice and private so it's almost like having your own secluded lake escape! Play out on the water, swim, plan a picnic on the deck - there's so much to do here!

When it's time to turn in at night, everyone in your group of up to six will find a cozy spot. In the four bedrooms, there are three queen beds and one room with a twin-over-queen bunk bed! And don't feel like you need to leave your furry family member behind: one dog is welcome, though a nightly fee per dog and a minimum fee per stay will apply.

Other amenities include a washer and dryer, a gas grill out on the deck, and a small dock for launching small boats and other water toys into Woahink Lake. And this home is all on one level, so if any members of your group don't want to climb stairs to a second floor - that is not an issue at this adorable and cozy lakeside cottage.

If you want a change of pace, from here, the Old Town section of Florence is less than five miles north. If you get sick of relaxing by the lake (hey, it could happen), make your way to town for a little gallery browsing, latte drinking at Siuslaw River Coffee Roasters, or even a nice meal out. When you return, your peaceful retreat will be waiting for you!

Day trips can include a day at the ocean beaches - Heceta Beach in Florence is only 15 minutes north and for a bit more adventure, head down to the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area - the park's entrance is only 20 miles south, so don't forget those ATVs. Other nearby options include a day hiking around Carl G. Washburne Memorial State Park, or make a full day of it with a trip to the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport, a scenic, coastal 55-mile car ride away.

This Florence vacation rental offers the best of both worlds - a private inland lake retreat, still located close to Oregon Coast beaches. Spend days exploring Woahink Lake by boat, head to the Pacific to build sand castles and observe tide pools, then return home to this private and charming lakefront cabin.

Cute cabin style home, right on the lake. You're paying for the location & it is worth it.
Rachel B. May 2020
This home makes for a beautiful vacation. The views from the front living room and the wrap around deck are amazing. Definitely and older home, but it is very spacious and has the cozy cabin feel. I loved being able to fish right from the deck and even caught a trout while doing so. The private dock is an awesome place to fish, as well as launch a canoe and spend the day out on the lake. The kids loved swimming right off the dock. We did notice that the water in the house smelled very fishy, like it was coming from the lake? Showering with that smell was a little uncomfortable. Overall we loved it, and hope to come back soon!
christina m. May 2020
I loved the views and fishing right off the private dock!
Anna C. Apr 2020
This house is perfect if you are looking for a private, secluded area to enjoy the lake. Bring your kayaks as there is a boat ramp and private dock. My dog really enjoyed the long private side yard to throw the ball and play chase.
Amanda K. Mar 2020
The area is absolutely gorgeous the water is crystal clear was beautiful thank you
Susan W. Oct 2019
We kayaked on the lake, cooked meals for my relatives and everyone was snug and comfortable in their rooms! So convenient to Florence and Reedsport and the beautiful Oregon coast. Thank you!
Angela S. Oct 2019
Great home with awesome views of the lake. The only thing that is kinda negative is some of the beds could be upgraded. The family loved the location.
Casey P. May 2019
The house is perched on the bank of a beautiful lake. It is a clean comfortable place to stay. I would come back.
Sandy S. Apr 2019
Nice lake house with five beds, 2 showers, and 3 bathrooms. Dated but quaint. It's close to town and the ATV Rentals. I wish we'd brought kayaks to explore the beautiful lake.
tim p. Sep 2018
Doesn't get much better than fishing from your deck, definitely coming back and bringing our boat.
Becky F. Aug 2018
This is a great place to meet with grown kids and their spouses. The house isn't huge, but it is split up well for privacy when needed and family time around the deck or living room. We brought our jet-ski's and enjoyed the lake thoroughly.
Mary Beth W. Aug 2018
We had a fun-filled and relaxing time at Cate’s Cabin. The lake is great for swimming and fishing and gazing upon. There is plenty of room to spread out. It’s peaceful and comfortable.
Norma C. Aug 2018
Eight of us rented Cates cabin and had a great time! The cabin has everything you need and the view was amazing! We will definitely rent it again!! A big thank you to the owners!
Zach T. Jul 2018
The outside is absolutely gorgeous. The lake is incredible, the deck is beautiful, and the location couldn't be more convenient. 10 min drive to Safeway + Old Town Florence. We enjoyed ourselves very much. This property could use some slight updating here and there but all in all it's a great location to escape to. Plenty of room for a family of 8 when we brought an extra cot. Very comfortable, homey, and SO easy to get to the beach or old town. Will not disappoint!
Gavin M. May 2018
Great location and had everything we needed!
nadezhda p. Mar 2018
I loved the wonderful view and the cute little modern rooms, time well spent there
Christy M. Feb 2018
Lovely! Comfortable house with great views and things to do. Bring your own drinking water.
Judie W. Oct 2017
This place is literally right on the water. The view is absolutely amazing. The sunrises are fantastic. It does have a boat dock but you CANNOT launch a boat from the property. You have to use the East Woahink Boat Launch. You can put small craft in here such as kayaks. The place has a nice large deck and chairs to enjoy watching the lake or fish right from the deck or dock. The place has 4 bedrooms each with a queen bed and one is even a bunk bed. Queen on the bottom, twin on the top. One of the bedrooms has a rocking chair and a half bath. There are two full bathrooms. A full size washer & dryer is in one of the bathrooms. They do supply hairdryers, soap and toiletries. There are games & puzzles in the cupboards in the hallway but only 1 DVD was available when we were there. There no central heating but there are plenty of wall heaters so you can control the heat in different rooms. There is a wood burning stove in the cabin but not much wood. There are actually two areas where people can congregate and each area has a tv and one has a stereo. There is also a big table in the back area. There is also a sofa in the back area where a person could sleep if needed. There is plenty of additional bedding in the cupboards. The kitchen is stocked with plenty of plates, saucers, cereal bowls & cups in Fiesta Ware. There are even a few spices and other assorted staples. What is lacking are drinking glasses that match. Huge wine glasses and oversized plastic glasses & martini glasses but no regular drinking glasses. There are lots of utencils. There is a microwave and the stove top works well as does the oven for cooking. Pots and pans are supplied. Not many mixing bowls or bake ware. The fridge is fine but doesn't have auto ice maker. The water is horrible tasting so bring plenty of bottled water for drinking, cooking and coffee making. Florence, Oregon is a wonderful area to explore and if you're into hiking, try The Hobbit Trail. Slot machine junkie? 3 Rivers Casino. The Bay Front great for walking and enjoying the shops & river. The dunes at the South Jetty are wonderful. Try your hand at crabbing at the dock at the South Jetty on the river. Explore the lighthouse area. Too much to tell here. Just get out and explore the area or stay seated on the deck for an enjoyable time. One thing can't have "guests". You can only have the amount of people at the house that you intially tell them.
Mary Beth W. Sep 2017
Our family of 3 generations enjoyed a lovely stay. We enjoyed swimming, boating, fishing and hanging out on the deck. We couldn't have had a better time. There is no garage as it states in the directions- it has been converted into living space. Someone should update that.
Marilyn C. Aug 2017
The house was clean and ready for our visit. There was a very nice welcome gift when we arrived from Vacasa. The house is as described with plenty of room and a fairly modern kitchen with a dish washer.

The best part of the house is the deck that covers the entire back and sides. This is where we spent most of our time overlooking the lake. the dock works well for fishing and we were able to use our canoe easily from the dock.
Kim O. Aug 2017
We have stayed here many times. Great location and property.
Debbie M. Jul 2017
We had ages from 10 years old to 70 years old and everyone was able to spread out and enjoy the cabin. The teenagers and dogs had a good time too.
Kristi S. Jun 2017
Cates Cabin is in a perfect location. Large enough to accommodate a large family or group.
Heather P. Jun 2017
We had a great stay here! It's an older house but super cute. And we were super happy to be able to launch our kayaks each morning on the lake and be able to go play around the Florence area each day. It is right off the road, but we were here on Memorial day weekend and did not find the traffic or noise bad at all!
Warren H. May 2017
We enjoyed our stay there and were satisfied over all they have issues to deal with but they are small. We will definitely stay there again next year
Derek A. Apr 2017
Cozy and quiet
Frankie A. Jul 2016
Great deck for adults. Fishing & swimming. Not a high traffic area for boats. 101 is close but the traffic noise was not really a factor. Outside kennel for dog or naughty children. Lol!
Kristi S. Jun 2016
Me and my family look forward to our stay at Cate's Cabin. We spend most of our time outside on the big deck and on the lake. I think the cabin has just the right amount of everything!
John K. May 2016
If you want peace and quite, Cates Cabin is not for you, right on hwy, very noisy. On the good side, the views of lake from back deck are amazing
Suzie B. Apr 2016
The view from the main living room was beautiful. Even though it rained 2 days we really didn't care, we just stayed in and watched TV 2 Comfy couches in living room.
Kathye P. Mar 2016
This is an older home right on the lake. Even providing a area to put in your small boat into the lake, with plenty of parking. It is a quick trip to town for forgotten items or browsing the town. A good house for couples and lager families. Need to stay several day to fully enjoy!
Teresa H. Mar 2016
The Cate's cabin on Woahink Lake was very charming and grew on us the longer we stayed. The wall heaters were irritating ,but the woodstove would have been a welcome addition had it worked correctly.
Andrea E. Feb 2016
It was fantastic!
Andreas P. Aug 2015
We loved the location, sunny deck and having our boat right at our personal dock!!.
The cabin itself is not great, but its cozy and worked for us. The biggest minus for us was no internet. If they added internet, the house would be in much more demand. Some road noise from Hwy 101, but not too bad. Mattresses need replacing starting with the Master BR. Overall we liked the positives enough that we would come back. They could spend a little money on a few things and significantly improve the stay. Great potential!! We really did enjoy our vacation here.
Cyndi P. Aug 2015
Very nice older home, great veiws of the lake. Great dock for fishing. 8 min to the dunes for 4 wheeling fun! Downtown florence is quaint great food & shopping near the ward... Maybe 5 minutes from the house. Very nice & large, perfect for extended families. Sea lion caves only 14 miles away!!!
Randall G. Aug 2015
Suggestion- we drove back and forth on Highway 101 five times trying to find the entrance to the driveway to the property. :You need to put in the instructions some landmarks, such as 100 yards north of the RV park on the east side of the road.
Donna V. Jul 2015
House is truly next to Hwy 101 but protected by trees, etc. We spanned all ages and everyone enjoyed the place. A plus for us was the private boat ramp. Had a fantastic few days together.
Joseph G. Jul 2015
Cate's Cabin was an absolutely perfect place for our group of 6! Plenty of bedrooms, plenty of space, and the three bathrooms gave each of us the feeling of having our own little section of the house. The wrap around deck and stone patio-like areas also provided a sense of space and openness. The private dock was sturdy and confidence inspiring as well. Our only problem was a large pile of recycling in the driveway when we arrived and the garbage bin was already full, although we didnt notice this until we took the trash out during checkout. I was able to easily get ahold of Vacasa and received excellent customer service for both issues! If you have any problems they'll take care of you. All in all this "cabin" looks small when you first drive up to it but proves to be a big home in disguise! Tip for future renters: expect to drive past the driveway the first time you come here! It's easy to turn around just down the road, so don't worry about the hassle, but for you drivers who don't like surprises just plan for it ahead of time! Trust me, it's worth the effort.
Angela N. Jun 2015
Very comfortable and quiet. Enjoyed the view and playing with the newts. Easy access to the lake for our pontoon boats. This would be a great place for someone with kids as there is a side for children and one for adults. Tried to use the wood stove with a duraflame. Did not work out to well. Some how the log got wet. Over all a wonderful place to stay
Greg K. Jun 2015
We had a very nice time visiting the Oregon coast, and enjoying our time at the cabin. The cabin had pretty much everything we needed for our week long stay. The kitchen was stocked with everything needed to prepare meals and clean up afterwards. All in all a great time.
Manager response:
We're so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay and that this wonderful home was perfect for your needs. Thanks for choosing Vacasa, and we hope to see you again soon!
Ben P. May 2015
seven of us staying on Mothers Day weekend 2015. older style refurbished house perfect for our family ..... excellent location right on the lake. one of my daughters even caught a really nice lake trout right from the dock.. really cool ! kids had a lot of fun paddle boating around the lake, and the Dunes are 1 minute away ... only negative was the master bedroom bed .... desperately needs upgrading for comfortable sleep ....
Jennifer C. May 2015
Our large family all met at this house for a weekend. Beautiful place to wake up on the lake.
Lynda A. Jan 2015
A very private, homey spot to enjoy Woahink Lake. Lot of space. Kitchen has everything you need. Felt very safe because you can't see it from the highway. It even has a dog kennel. Lots better than staying at a hotel. Didn't want to leave. Just husband and I but would be great place for many more folks to have fun. Close to dunes.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review. This vacation cabin is definitely in a great location and we are glad that you felt safe and that it had everything you needed (even for your furry friend). Too bad vacations have to come to an end eventually! We appreciate your comments and awesome 5 star rating. We look forward to hearing from you when you begin planning your next vacation.
Joe C. Aug 2014
The house was perfect. I would sell my house and live there in a heart beat. The only flaw was the water presure was horrible. But everything else over rode that. I had never been so at peace on a vacation!! Loved it!!
Manager response:
Thank you so much for this review. Its always great to hear that our guests enjoyed their stay and will choose to stay with us again.
Korre S. Aug 2014
We loved the place as it felt like a home away from home. It had all of the common things that you need in a house and more. The house was large, clean, and was perfect for us. The large deck was wonderful for relaxing with a drink after a long day. Very close to some great dune riding and the ocean.
