We loved our stay at the Surf Shack. Everything was clean and well-stocked. Our 3 yr old and 16 month-old loved playing with some of the toys provided and outside where we could sit on the deck with a coffee in hand and watch them and the beautiful view of the river. We would definitely come back again.

We loved everything about this house, the only thing that we didn't love was the bar b que. It was very dirty and nothing to clean the grates with.
Manager response:
We have purchased the proper tools to clean the BBQ with. Thank you!

Great little vacation spot at the end of an unused airfield. Lovely nature area surrounding the house and we were visited by baby deer every morning. The house has everything needed. It’s furnished well and the master bed comfortable. Very close to the Grateful Bread which made for a fun bunch spot.

We loved our stay at the Surf Shack. It's located at the very end of a dead end street, with a huge lot so it's secluded from other houses. The house itself is very cute, with thoughtful touches throughout. The kitchen is a decent size with enough items to cook, the master bedroom was large and the smaller bedrooms were adequate. The views from the living room windows were perfect, and the back yard was a huge bonus. We loved being able to sit on the back deck and relax at anytime of day or into the evening. We definitely want to come back in the future.

My party and I had a great time staying at this home. Plenty of room. My 3yr great niece loved all the kid movies that this home had. And enjoyed hanging out on the been bags. Kitchen was well stocked and we enjoyed being able to cook and not eat out every meal. We all enjoyed the fact that we had a yard to hang out in that my great niece could run some energy off. We all agreed that we would book this house again.

A well-maintained, clean home, decorated cute. At the end of a Dead End. Quiet to enjoy the view of the river and wildlife. Three nice bedrooms. While homes on/near the coast are expensive this time of year, this was a good value.

This place was wonderful for our family! Our kids could run around outside and climb trees and walk down to the river. We took our canoe out on the river and were able to walk it down to the river right in front of the house. It is just a short drive to the cape and so many other fun things to do in the area. The house itself is darling and comfortable. We will return!

The house was perfect. It is at the end of a road so it is quite isolated with a wonderful view of the river, trees to keep you feeling private, and you can hear the waves as you sit out on the deck. The housecleaners even left cut flowers that made us feel very welcome.
The inside was clean, and well stocked. Having a few spices there, along with mixture of kitchen appliances made it easy for 4 adults to cook in and have what we needed. The shower in the main bathroom had lots of pressure and was duly appreciated. Simple and well decorated.
It was a great place for parents and their college kids to meet up.
Check in and out was easy. Not being folks that use an alarm box it took us awhile to locate it.
If you have kids they have a great cd stash if you had a rainy day and needed to keep them entertained.
The only reason to give The Surfer Shack 4 + stars and not 5 was that the confirmation letter gave us a wifi address but then there was no wifi. Probably our fault that I missed it in the add, but our confirmation letter gave us a wifi login so we were then surprised. Maybe you need to remind renters on the check in and check out sheet.
Some ideas to make it easier for visitors would be some info on Pacific City in a notebook, and more detail about the woodstove, where get wood, the alarm box, and where our outdoor boundaries were.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone that wants to enjoy the ocean and family, while having a pleasant place to come back to at the end of the day.

This home was a great place to serve as our base camp. It was close to beaches and hiking. The grocery store was just down the street. We could easily walk to the beach for nightly fires. The back yard was cozy and perfect for watching the deer while we sipped hot cocoa. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the necessary utensils, pots, pans and dishes to serve up our freshly caught crab and fish. We like the washer and dryer as we did not have to pack as much as we could do wash. The beds were comfortable. We used the electric heat/fans in the morning to take off the chill. We had a party of six and it accommodated our party and we did not feel cramped. A convenient location for all of our activities and it was not as expensive as other homes we looked at. I felt this home was appropriately priced for what we received.

The Tillamook cheese factory was about 20 min away. We were 45 minuets away from deep sea fishing and crabbing. Cape Lookout is 10 minuets away with three great hiking trails, one to a fairly secluded beach and tide pools.

We will definitely stay here again.
