Bear necessity's was a great weekend getaway for our group of friends. We brought one of our dogs and upon arrival they had treats, a water bowl, and doggie bags for our furry friend! The place was very clean and provided pretty much everything you needed- all kitchen items, soap, shampoo, towels, etc. Very spacious and plenty of room for our 8 guests to sleep comfortably (you could even bring along a few more to sleep on the couches in the basement) Overall- we would definitely stay here again!
House was clean and prepared on arrival. It was quite secluded and loved the privacy, pool table was a hit. Bed's are comfortable, Couches are cozy, easy drive to Wisp Mountain and surrounding stores.
Hot tub could use instructions as the water was cold the second night and we weren't sure how to adjust it and didn't want to mess around with it too much. Also, as they mention, the driveway is steep and on icy days can be tough to get out without 4 wheel drive. Took us a couple tries to get out. Overall would definitely come back.
It was spacious enough for us. It was quiet. There were deer. Trash was collected and the owner worked with us over the firewood issue.
Loved the environment. Enjoyed the quiet. Home was adequate for couples getaway.
This home was extremely clean. It made the stay so comfortable for our family of 5, including a little beagle. The home supplied everything from fully stocked bedrooms with an abundance of bath towels, to comfortable bed linens and pillows, fully stocked kitchen supplies, including detergent, towels, trash bags, stacked wood for the fireplace, cozy heating and a relaxing hot tub. We enjoyed a great fall weekend and plan to come back next fall!
Our group of 6 spent a cozy winter weekend at the house. The space worked well for us and the hot tub was a hit.
Wow, what a great place! Rustic and simple, but everything you could need, and in a great location close to all the main attractions. We had seven people in our group, and this house provided exactly what we were looking for. While not directly on the water, beach access points were not too far away. We stocked up the fridge and had some fantastic meals thanks to the grill on the deck. The hot tub was amazing and relaxing after a long day on the water. Also, the pool table was an added bonus -- not to mention how cool the lower level stayed even on the hottest of days! Only two slight suggestions: bring a box fan for the upstairs bedroom (gets hot hot hot during the summer days, as the house has no a/C), and it would be wonderful if the homeowners would add a fire pit for the outside... a nice campfire would only have added to the good times we had at this place! There were definitely some spiders & cobwebs around the property, but what do you expect when you're right there in nature?!
Fully equiped, airy 3 floor home with great windows, and even better porch (with a porch swing no less!!) and every update you could ask for. Hot tub was wonderful, so was the pool table and we loved the master suite with the large tub right in the room! We brought our dog, who enjoyed his lazy days with us. Surrounded by woods, we saw birds and chipmunks galore. Lots of privacy and peace, which we disperately needed, and this place fit the bill!! Lots of steps - up to the master bedroom and down to the basement. The decor is bear oriented (Bear Necessity, 'nuf said), with lots of charming little bird houses. Fireplace and gas grill on site (which we didn't need to use). We will be back next year for sure!!!
Thank you for suggesting Bear Necessity's. My husband, myself and our two dogs (kids) felt perfectly at home. We were looking for a vacation that was peaceful and "getting away from it all". This was perfect! We couldn't even get a signal on our cell phones. That in and of itself was wonderful. Our kids just loved the deck. If there is one thing I would sggest would be more fans. Got very hot inside during the day and the ceiling fan in the living room wasn't very strong. Everything was just perfect. Thanks to you and the family who owns the home. Troy and Linda Zelo
