Give your next trip to the coast an extra spark of romance with this beautiful, secluded apartment. Tucked away on a quiet 3.8-acre property just steps from the ocean, this rental includes a jetted bathtub, a private path to the beach, and a magnificent air of tranquility.
The property is located about two miles north of Yachats, along the scenic Oregon Coast Highway, and a path on the property leads right down to a remote stretch of beach. Watch the sunset, fly a kite, or take a peaceful stroll through the surf - all without the bustle of the summer crowds. If you feel like exploring further, check out the shops and cafes in picturesque downtown Yachats, or take in the sweeping views at Cape Perpetua (just over four miles south).
This charming apartment is also the perfect place to simply enjoy some alone time with your sweetheart. With hardwood ceilings and giant windows that look out into the evergreens, the interior is flooded with light while still maintaining a sense of privacy. The kitchen has a full fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, and more (please note that there is no stove). The particularly gorgeous bathroom combines a bay window with a jacuzzi tub for an added touch of luxury.
Please note that this apartment shares the property with a larger, separate house. Both homes can be rented together if you're traveling with a larger group; please contact Vacasa for more information or see the listings for just the main house or the main house and bungalow together!

This is a very clean, quiet, and comfortable rental with great beach access. The Bungalow is close to Yachats, Waldport, and numerous state parks and hiking trails. Yachats is an easy 2 mile walk along the beach (fording small streams at low tide) and the 804 trail . Bring camp chairs to enjoy views from the beach.
This place is wonderfully located, was easy to check in and out of, has a spacious interior, and is definitely somewhere we’ll come back to.
One of my concerns before booking was regarding the partial kitchen. The house is a bit outside town, and I wasn’t sure if it would be easy to cook in. Well I’m glad I took the chance, because the kitchen was actually very well stocked in terms of tools and appliances, despite the lack of stove.
As of late April 2019 the kitchen had:
- two burner plug in stove top
- slow cooker/crockpot
- electric griddle (think frying pan not flat top)
- coffee maker
- coffee grinder
- electric kettle
- toaster oven
- spacious fridge with automated ice maker
- multiple sizes of pot and pan
- eating and cooking utensils (including bottle and can openers, and a corkscrew)
- dry and liquid measuring cups and spoons
- cutting boards, knives, scissors
- good assortment of bowls, plates and glassware (including some plastic you could take outside)
…and probably some variety of other things I didn’t think to mention.
I think it should be more than adequate to cook for 2-6 people, unless you are extremely oven reliant in your meals. (There’s some bakeware, but just the one toaster oven.)
Everything else was pretty much as we hoped and expected it to be based on the listing. I will be rebooking with confidence now that the kitchen situation is more clear.
[The one and only kind of strange thing was that we found the bed only partially made, and a small heap of towels on the floor. The place was otherwise very clean, so it felt unclear whether the linens had been left unfinished by cleaning crew, or whether anyone had come between guests. We spoke to Vacasa by phone, and made up the bed with new linens, etc., as those had all been extremely easy to find.]
My husband and I loved staying here for a couple nights, the bed was comfortable, the heat worked great at night, and the bathroom is fantastic! Be warned that the pull out sofa bed is not super comfy, and the "private" path to the beach is a tad awkward because it takes you through the yard of the main house. I totally recommend this place for a couple's getaway. :)
This property is very clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The bathroom is amazing! The kitchen lacks a stove, but has a an electric griddle and all of the other kitchen equipment necessary to cook most meals. Lots of windows facing the ocean, but probably obscured in the summer due to the close proximity to the house. Trimming would open up a wonderful view. There is a short path to a beautiful expanse of mostly private beach. We enjoyed the beach, but had some difficulty with the rocks getting onto the beach. Needs clearing!
VERY CLEAN, MODERN AND COZY.
The Bungalow at Villa al Mar was a lovely space.. My husband and I enjoyed being there, I particularly loved the pinks of the sofa and the kitchen and bathroom tiles. The bed was very comfortable. We had easy access to the beach (walking), and to the town of Yachats (driving). Together time was easy, as well as alone time for one’s self, as there was plenty of room.
Nice clean up to date little cottage
Loved the secluded feel and it being so close to the ocean if you opened the window you could hear the waves.
Loved it. It was perfect for the two of us.
There was a giant heap of trash that had been strewn around by birds, lying next to he garage. The actual garbage can was overflowing. It stunk. This was there upon arrival and still present when we left. There was no trash can or garbage bags in the kitchen- we had to use the tiny bathroom trash with a flimsy bag- ridiculous!
There was no sponge or brush to wash dishes with! There was hair on the rim of the toilet. The dishes in the cabinet were dripping wet, as if they had been cleaned but not dried in the least.
A very bright and enjoyable house, very near the beach just north of Yachats. The rooms are especially light and give you the feeling you are living in a forest--very relaxing. The living room is a wonderful place to sit, with comfortable furniture. Good working space in the kitchen, an excellent fridge, with cooking devices including slow cooker, electric griddle, etc., but no stove top, which was a bit disappointing for us (that situation can be confirmed by looking closely at the kitchen photo, however). Next time, we will bring an Instant Pot.
