Impeccable oceanview home with private beach access & a large deck!
This ocean-view, two bedroom South Beach vacation home is just south of Newport, Oregon. This cozy coast getaway has room for all to relax, as well a large deck and private beach, accessible from either side of the creek.
From inside, you'll love the ocean view from this home's wall of windows! Do some storm watching on a chilly winter afternoon while the propane stove keeps it all warm and toasty inside, or view a stunning summer sunset after dinner. There's room for everyone to sit back and relax after a day hiking, playing on the beach, or wandering the exhibits at the Oregon Coast Aquarium. And if it's at all rainy out, there's cable TV, a DVD player, and WiFi for entertainment at home.
You'll love the convenience of having a full kitchen here! Just stock the refrigerator and cabinets with groceries and vacation meals will be easy to prepare! There's even a small charcoal grill on the deck if you want to grill outside, surrounded by the large backyard. If you do want to venture out for meals, a short drive north will take you to Fishtails Cafe for breakfast or lunch - and after crossing the historic Yaquina Bay Bridge, you'll have even more dining options on Newport's bustling bayfront.
After dinner, you can explore the beach, play a family board game inside, or just find a quiet spot to curl up with a good book. When it's time to turn in, one bedroom has a queen sized bed, the living space has a single size sleeper, and the other bedroom has two twin beds making this house perfect for up to five guests.
Spend your days walking along the shore, pant legs rolled up. You'll have a long, sandy stretch of beach to explore, about a three-minute downhill walk away. Nearby attractions include wine tasting at Stone Crest Cellars, hiking at Lost Creek State Park, or wildlife watching along the tide pools at Seal Rock.
Heading in the opposite direction, besides the famous aquarium in Newport, you can spend the day exploring the area around the Yaquina Head lighthouse, run on Agate Beach, or just browse the shops and galleries of Newport's artsy Nye Beach area. And if you get dirty while on your coast adventure, there's a washer and dryer back at the house.
Plan a family stay at this South Beach vacation rental now to unwind and relax at the beautiful Oregon Coast!
We had a wonderful time staying at this property. Was a perfect get away for our family. House was very well equipped with everything you need to cook, a new BBQ. Beautiful views and easy beach access. We will definitely be coming back. Thanks for sharing your great place with us!
Easy access to beach with a view. Comfortable with nice deck with ocean view. Felt at home here.
This house is super well situated. It has an amazing view from the deck, which perfectly frames the sunset when you are lucky enough to have a cloud-free sky. The beach access is very easy and very close - we hit the beach five times in one day, and this is with a 4 year old! And the stretch of beach is fantastic ... very wide, sandy, with a little creek running to the ocean which was super fun for floating boats and getting water for sand castle moats.
The price is excellent, but you kinda get what you pay for with respect to the actual house. The location is great; the house is super worn. The furniture is uncomfortable and dated, the beds are very uncomfortable (with maybe two pillows total that had any neck support), and everything just feels a little old and run down. This was okay with us - we are not fancy travelers, and the price was great and the location was fantastic. Just be aware that the house is a bit threadbare.
alicia's space is open and inviting.....it seems so secluded, and yet is just a quick drive from newport.....and the lovely walk to the impossibly magic beach! no fussiness, just a sweet space that invites you to sit...be still with the ocean....celebrate any goodness you know. we did not use the deck, (weather) but didn't miss that at all....tho in the summer....wow! neat, clean, easy!
This house was very comfortable and clean with a wonderful view of the ocean and short walk to beach. We would be happy to stay here again.
First, let me just say that the view and the proximity to the private beach made this rental worth every penny. With that said, however, there were a few issues (not the least of which was the fact the cleaning lady was still there and unfinished when we went to check in so we had to leave and come back). First, the layout is odd. The master bedroom does not have a door. If you are traveling with other couples or just need some privacy, it's an odd setup. The shower in the master is also off limits. This would be an issue if you had a full house. The shower in the second bathroom works but the glass door doesn't shut so water free flows out. We tried to wedge stuff up against it to keep it closed and/or catch the water, but short of someone standing there while you shower and holding the door shut, it's not an ideal situation.
The house is also quite old, which, while charming, means that it's at an age where things start breaking. There were many things in the house that needed repaired. Windows broken and unable to be opened, a set of blinds broken and unusable, another set of larger blinds on the sliding door no longer had a cord so you had to reach up and open and close them by hand, which would have been fine if they were not so old and fell apart at your touch.
So to recap: The location and view were incredible. The house is aging with many repairs needed.
This house was very secluded and had a private beach access. Fireplace was a nice addition, and we watched whales in the ocean on the enormous back deck.
The house itself was great, It had everything we needed for the 5 night stay. The views are amazing as well. Best stocked kitchen I’ve seen in a vacation rental! And lots of hot water for long showers/bathes.
Private beach access is a plus!
Beds in small room are hard as rock and pull out bed in front roon is unstable but other then that it is a nice place and i will go back.
The owner is replacing the pull-out bed. Thank you!
We stayed with our 3 children at Alicia's Beach House and loved the location. The view is as beautiful as the pictures! You can hear and see the ocean very easily. The neighborhood is nestled in trees and the beach is a short walk down a paved hill and easy to access. Plenty of games, movies, books, etc. South Beach is a few miles from Newport. It's just a few minutes to the bay, aquarium, etc. A couple of notes: the shower in the second bathroom isn't working, so there's only one shower. The main bedroom has a very comfortable bed but no door, so that's important to know if you need privacy or some members of your party stay up later/get up earlier. All in all, a great place to stay with a few quirks.
The owner has chosen to not put a door in place for that bedroom because the door frame is in a corner. The shower is being inspected to see what work is required. Thanks!
But not great either. Wonderful location and view. The private beach access saved the day. Best word to describe interior of house is "eclectic". Obviously trying hard to save on utilities and improvements. Very basic and a little uncomfortable for 4 adults with only ONE functioning shower and no door to one of the bedrooms. Not a great value for the money.
There are a thousand things to do in this area, but at this house you could just sit out on the deck or the community beach and look at the ocean, or the woods, or the wildlife, and go away satisfied. It was just so beautiful. Not to take away from the house itself, which was well-kept and very comfortable (make sure to get in a long bath-it's nice and roomy and has some great ambiance). I wanted to stay for a month.
We loved out stay in this beautiful, peaceful spot. The house is very comfortable, the neighborhood very quiet, and a gorgeous (and uncrowded) beach is just a short walk down the hill.
I'm crossing my fingers that this place is available for my next trip! It was the perfect location in it's own little cove. It was the perfect combination of woodsy /ocean. With the privacy of this home the blinds were open the entire time! The master bed is super comfy with its own amazing view of the beach. Sliding doors in each room to access the huge back porch. To save a little money we always bring our own groceries to fill the fridge with, the kitchen was so much fun to cook in. It had everything! The beach is literally a two minute walk down the hill. Even got to know the neighbor who watches over the place , super sweet . It was so hard to leave I had to tack on one more day! Definitely coming back!
My only regret, is that there was no door to the large bedroom. Couldn't close off the late night talking of the other guests. Otherwise, everything you could possibly need was right there for you. Would stay again, just not with the 20 year old grandkids.
My family had a lovely time at Alicia's Beach House. The view is magnificent and the beach is just a very short walk down the hill. The furnishings and appliances are a bit dated, but that didn't matter so much to us. Our main concern when renting a vacation house is the "ambiance," which, in this case, is relaxing and comfy. BTW, guests should be warned that the beach pretty much disappears during high tide. Not a big problem unless you're caught a ways down the beach. Look at the tide charts!
Great view and beach you can walk to. Its a little older home but very cozy
We would absolutely stay here again :)
House had great views in a perfect little location. The kitchen was great and saved us a few bucks over eating out all the time. A few of the appliances and such are a bit older in the house, if you want to get really picky, but everything thing worked 100% Next time we want to come back to this area this place will be at the top of our list.
This rental is excellent for relaxation. The view of the ocean is mesmerizing. The pictures (as of this writing on 11/28/16) do not represent the view well. That wide angle view of the back porch makes the ocean look miles away. It's actually only 480 feet from the water's edge at high tide. I could easily have spent the entire weekend watching the ocean through the wall of picture windows in the living room. The beach is a two or three minute walk down the driveway and then down a paved public access street. During our stay the beach was not accessible at or near high tide without rubber boots, but at low tide it was a couple tenths of a mile wide, flat, and perfect for walking or running.
The house is cozy and charming albeit eclectic and a bit awkward. The bedrooms and bathrooms are in an odd afterthought add-on configuration with no door at all between the master bed and the living room. And with one queen and two twins, it's clearly meant for families with kids, although it could be a romantic getaway for a couple alone.
My only gripe about the place was that the shower shown in the bathroom with the round window is off-limits. There is a sign under it asking guests to use the shower in the other bathroom. Since we were two couples, that was slightly awkward but I feel it was misrepresented. Plus there appears to be no reason for this request. All the plumbing is there and it works. Another disappointment was the fireplace, which was a gas insert controlled with a timer like a hot tub, although this was clearly stated in the description. The only other gotcha was that the ice maker in the refrigerator was not hooked up.
We apologize for any surprises this guest encountered during their stay. The owners have requested that the shower not be used for the time being as the water is causing damage to the window frame; there will hopefully be a solution for this soon.
The beach access is very handy right by the house. This made for some nice walks on the beach.
This house has lots of character and is in a great location. We weren't pleased with the bed situation, there were 4 adults and 2 kids. 1 of the queens was a hide-a-bed and the other beds were not comfortable. Other than that the house was wonderful and by far our favorite beach at the Oregon coast.
We had a great time here. The beach access was very nice and the beach was truly amazing.
This was a great area, very close to everything. The private beach was beautiful and the view from inside the house was amazing. The house was quiet and clean.
Excellent place to stay at a very reasonable rate.
Alicia's Beach House is located in a prime spot with fairly good beach access. The walk back up the hill could be challenging for some. House amenities were more than adequate. Very comfortable. Our grandchildren had a ball. Our second visit to Alicia's and if available we will return.
Beautiful views, comfortable beds, beach is amazing!
This house met our expectations plus more. Beautiful home, beautiful view. Just beautiful! Great view from the large windows to watch whale. We saw more whales from the house then we did by renting a charter boat to whale watch. The beach is just right down the hill. Easy to drive/walk to. I hope to stay at Alicias again in the near future!!
There were several major things about this house that would keep us from recommending or using again. Non-working shower, condensation in windows blocking view. Dated kitchen and appliances.
The Property Manager will address the shower and see what can be done about the windows so that the view can be enjoyed.
The house was very comfortable. Loved the semi-private access to the beach. A great place for beach combing
This was a good place to stay for 3 of us while attending the Newport Book Arts Festival
Great family home for a small family. Great views very clean. Great views from the deck for anyone who likes to watch the sunset.
Great cozy place. We were happy with the amenities because we were expecting them to be older. Place was a little dirty, but the view and location were spectacular. Very private. We would definitely go back. We even saw sun for a few hours! Steer clear of Newport Steak and Seafood- $20 for rubbery bland chicken alfredo. Go to downtown Newport instead!
The view was wonderful from this quaint and cozy Beach house. One problem, several of the large windows that look out on the view were terribly obstructed by condensation between the window panes. We would definitely recommend this property, just make sure the windows are fixed before you get there. The location is great. Out of the way but close enough to do anything in the Newport area. Decorated in fun, nautical style, the house was a perfect place to come back to after a full day of play. The kitchen was well supplied with anything you'd need to make your own meals. Washer and dryer were a real plus, as well.
Fun little beach house with incredible ocean view. Short downhill walk on a paved road to the beach. We were able to play on the beach during high tide and low tide (April). The kids (ages 1-7) all loved it, and are begging to go back. Baseboard heaters, electric heaters, and gas fireplace (glass got super hot) were somewhat nerve wracking with the little ones.
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. The house is in a great location with a great view. Loved the deck. The design of the house was unique and homey - very comfortable. It was nice to sit at the table and enjoy the ocean view. Thank you for sharing your home with us!!
This was a great getaway beach house with plenty of room and a very short walk to the beach. We stayed for just a weekend, but wish we could have extended for a week. Perfect experience!
Very well maintained and clean!
We really enjoyed our stay at this beach house. From the moment we walked in and took in the view , we felt the nostalgic feeling we get when we visit the Oregon coast. Yes, it has that beachy smell, that those of us who grew up going to the beach remember. Was the house fancy? No, but it was comfortable and homey and served us well. The view is obviously the selling point, can't get enough of that for sure. Overall a really comfortable place to spend time at the beach
We hope we're on your A-List as visitors because you are on our A list of places to return to. We checked out by 10:30 and had towels in the dryer and sheets in the washer as well as dishwasher almost finished. We vacuumed and swept and made sure we had everything of ours. We loved the private beach.
The property was as promised and more. It was private and cozy , with everything we needed, and the view was incredible. It was so great having a whole house to ourselves. Tons of towels, blankets, pillows, soap, shampoo, a fully-stocked kitchen, even little labels on all the light switches. :) We were there the week prior to Memorial Day weekend, and it was so quiet and wonderful. We were the only people on "our" beach most of the time. The view from the deck and the wall of windows in the living room is stunning. Very clean. Highly recommended. Can't wait to go back...
My friend and I really enjoyed this house so much --- everything we needed to cook, hangout and relax. The house was very comfortable and was well appointed and well equipped.
Had a great week at Alicia's beach house. An older house but very well maintained and comfortable.A very quiet location at the end of street and what a great view of the ocean! The beach is about a 2 minute walk from house and is private and secluded. The house has everything you need and the gas fireplace was very nice to sit by and watch the storms. Vacasa was great to deal with and everything was done and ready when promised. The only thing people might need to know is there is little to no verizon cell service right at house, but it wasn't a big deal as there is a land line at house. Other than that, wifi worked perfect and great cable! I would stay here again and recommend it to all my friends!
Thank you for sharing your experience at the home, we are so happy to hear you enjoyed your stay with us. I am very sorry to hear that the cellular service was less than ideal. Keep in mind that some cellular phones can connect to the WiFi that is provided to improve signal strength. We hope to see you again soon!
Very comfortable home with great views and nice beach access. The kitchen was well equipped and with the exception of the strange couch that ejects you to the floor when you try to lay on it and the fact that there is NO bedroom door on the main bedroom I would stay there again. Actually we are already planning our next stay there but won't be taking the family unless the bedroom door issue is addressed.
Thank you for your review. We are delighted to see that you are returning to this fun home. In the meantime, we will look into the couch and bedroom door. Thank you for choosing Vacasa!
We loved this spot for total relaxation and enjoying the view with the coastal trees framing the ocean. This spot was quiet and perfect for our dog. The walk to the beach was only 2 minutes and this particular beach had hardly any other folks walking on it. The house was cozy and had all the necessary amenities for a quick get-away. We could have stayed the rest of the week; sad to leave this tranquil place with an amazing view. Thank you!
We spent four nights at Alicia's and had a great time. Our son and grandchildren were with us for two of those nights and they had a blast!!! Although it was cold the kids played on the beach for hours. The house was very comfortable and was well equiped to make meals in house. The beds were comfortable, but the black fouton was difficult to sit on. We would certainly come back. Thanks ..
We really enjoyed our stay at this property.
Very quiet neighborhood, great views of forest and ocean, really a 3 minute walk down to the beach (about 10 minutes back up:)) Very private beach, great for throwing balls for the dog. Grant Creek provides fresh water at the beach for a tired dog.
Our family loved Alicia's. It has a great access to the beach and a round the clock view of the beach. We appreciated the location so much!! A quiet, private neighborhood and being able to walk out the door and down to the beach to play was priceless!! Sure beats driving around looking. The house was well-supplied with everything we needed. Thanks for a great vacation!!
There were some minor things not working..dish washer..shower in big bathroom. But it in no way spoiled our stay. The view is fabulous & the very short walk to the empty beach was visited many times by me & the dog. We will be back here again!
Alicia's house was outstanding. A beautiful view framed by the trees, and a short walk to the beach. The neighborhood was very quiet and conducive to a realxing few days. Wether it was walking on the beach or just chilling around the house, it was near perfect.
Having stayed in many condos, we are used to making do with whatever the kitchen has. This was a very different story. We took a crock pot for easy meals at the end of the day, only to find there was already one there. The kitchen was small, but completely stocked and more.
The living are was as depicted in the pictures. Beatiful view!! When not at the beach or seeing the sights, we spent time enjoying watching the waves break for the comfort and warmth of the house. Wake up in the morning and see the ocean while lying in bed and looking out the window. Very cool.
Nearby there are lighthouses, tidepools and window-shopping. All in all a very good trip and a great location and setting. If your family fits in the house, you can't go wrong. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice relaxing getaway in a beautiful environment.
This was a perfect spot for a beach house vacation! Clean and cozy, this house had everything we needed and then some! You really don't need to pack anything but your clothes! We did forget shampoo, but not to worry, some was provided! Thank you!
We stayed over spring break (March 2014) and had a great time exploring Newport and beyond. We enjoyed the privacy of the house and the fact that the house was situated on such a nice spot and with huge windows that overlooked the ocean, that even in the rain and wind you could see amazing views from the comfort of a comfy chair. And breakfast, gazing out those windows with the sun and surf was magical! A quick walk down the hill and you had access to miles of beach - perfect for a morning run or exploring and beach combing in the afternoon.
Wish-list items would include binoculars for whale watching, and some folding beach chairs, but really no big deal that these weren't there, as we still were happy with all the other little things that were thought of and we had access to that made our stay memorable. What you ask? From boardgames, movies, books, local attraction brochures and many other small touches that made us so happy that we didn't chose a bland hotel room for our stay but instead were thrilled to feel spoilt with beach house living at Alicia's.
We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed the home and it's beautiful ocean views. Thank you so much for the great feedback. Hope to see you again!
This is a great place with a great view. You have access to the beach in 3 minutes via a pathway. Very nice location.
