This quintessential one-bedroom Yachats vacation rental is sure to enchant its guests with a picture-perfect getaway to the Oregon Coast. Nestled in a secluded woodland area and only steps away from infinite ocean waves, this darling cottage is ideal for a romantic excursion or relaxing solo retreat.
This endearing home embodies Yachats' affectionate nickname, the "Gem of the Oregon Coast." Explore the beautiful, uncrowded beach only 75 yards from the front door, or journey three and a half miles south to downtown where you'll find restaurants, the Green Salmon Coffee House and a handful of galleries to browse. Further south is the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area where you can stare out over an 800-foot viewpoint at rugged coastline. Newport is about 20 minutes north with all the assets of a larger city and the renowned Oregon Coast Aquarium!
Tucked among trees, you will be charmed by this cottage's gingerbread house exterior with wooden siding and red trim. Once you step inside, you will feel right at home in its cozy interior filled with comfortable furnishings and cheerful decor.
The living room is a snug place to relax after an exhausting day of exploring the coast, and there's a comfy spot for everyone with two plush recliners and a sofa. A DVD/Blu-ray player and cable are included, plus you can use the Smart TV to log into your personal Netflix account. There is also an assortment of board games, so during stormy evenings spread out on the rug for endless entertainment or use the wireless Internet access to catch up on your email.
The living room opens into the kitchenette that features all the major appliances and cooking utensils (including Calphalon cookware) that you require to satisfy your culinary needs. A refrigerator, stovetop/oven, and microwave are at hand for mixing ingredients and preparing delicious cuisine. A coffee grinder and coffee maker are included for brewing delicious cups of your favorite morning beverage. A cute wooden dining table seats four and although there isn't a dishwasher, you can always let the mess soak while you enjoy a sunset from the back deck.
When the sun is shining, plan a picnic-style lunch on the back deck. It's a perfect nook for relishing a few chapters of your favorite book, or writing reflections in a journal. Pick up fresh seafood while you're in town and bring it back to prepare on the grill. There's even an outdoor fire pit for roasting marshmallows and making s'mores for dessert. When you're in the mood to dine elsewhere, The Drift Inn is a favored spot with a tasty menu and live music most evenings.
Dogs are also welcome (though a nightly fee per dog and minimum fee per stay will apply).
Spend your days beachcombing, watching for whales from shore or just relaxing in the sunshine on the deck. This precious oceanside cottage will captivate its guests with an unforgettable stay.

Everything. Not one negative thing.
Nancy N.Nov 2019
We loved this little house!
Adrian P.Oct 2019
Very clean and well maintained cottage. Close beach access. Very quiet and private.
Kari i.Aug 2019
So close to the beach, so quiet, cozy, clean and comfy! This one bedroom 1 bath cottage us the perfect place to escape to for a few days with a very happy Coast loving boxer.
Tina D.Aug 2019
We were disappointed that the beach access wasn’t better described before we rented. The stairs are rickety and then you have to climb over a bunch of boulders to access the beach.
We spent the week driving to other beaches.
The cabin itself was nice. It was mostly clean but the shower is very small. Showers are a challenge.
We wouldn’t rent this cabin again, mostly because of the beach access but if you’re comfortable rock climbing, then this place would be a perfect fit.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us! We are updating the description of the house to better represent the beach access. Be aware there are a few boulders to climb over at the base of the stairs to the beach. For disabled access to the beach, there is the wonderful 804 trail just 3 miles south in Yachats. We hope we can host you again sometime soon!

The cottage is warm and inviting and perfect for a couple (and their dog) to stay while rambling through the small coastal towns and spending time on the beach.
We found the kitchen adequate and easy to clean up.
Cooking utensils etc were easy to find and use.
We found using the back door more convenient to use.
Be prepared to sweep the floor occasionally.
Thankfully we had good books to read - the tv was beyond us but we did not mind :)

Rustic, clean, and pet friendly. Quiet and simple.
Bj P.May 2019
This place is great! Super cozy for two people & a pup. This place instantly felt like home as soon as we stepped inside. The beach is about a 15 second walk from the front door. We will definitely stay here again!

The cottage is very comfortable, clean and has a real home like feel. Its great that internet and streaming services are provided. Only complaint would be that I had issues with the lock box that held the keys it opened fine but would not close.
Deanna L.Oct 2018
This cottage was cozy and great for my partner and me. The beach access was amazing and it was a great place to relax for a few days.
A couple things to note: 1) The bed had a noticeable "slouch" causing us to roll into each other in the very center of the bed. 2) We tend to cook a lot using fresh ingredients and the pots and pans could use a major upgrade. They are teflon coated and incredibly chipped, scratched and worn. We hope to visit this cottage again but would bring our own cookware unless we discover that newer pots/pan or stainless steel items have been made available.
Overall though we loved this spot!
Thank you for your feedback! The cookware has all been updated with new Calphalon cookware. We hope you can come back soon!
Ann H.Sep 2018
The house was perfect for us. We would recommend it. Our only complaint...we kept hitting our toes on the leg of the bd.
Jeff M.Sep 2018
Great for a couple looking for relatively easy access to a great stretch of beach.
Dana D.Sep 2018
We loved this place. Quiet and peaceful setting with easy beach access and the wooded forest; it was a perfect place for us to bring our dog. The house was clean and well stocked.
Merry H.Aug 2018
We loved it. Everything we needed was there. Very close to the beach, and pet friendly. We just took food. and yes we would stay there again next year. Thanks soooo much!
Anthony H.Aug 2018
The cottage is right next to the highway, which is what you'll hear — not the sea. The furniture is old, shabby, funny-smelling & uncomfortable. The bedclothes smelled bad, and the mattress is really awful. The kitchen is not well stocked and has no counter space. The shower was as confining as a coffin. The windows don't open. The backyard is not private; it's wide open to the neighbors' parking area. The fridge makes the usual motor rumble, and also a LOUD grinding noise every few minutes that can wake you from a sound sleep. We did not sleep well nor enjoy any time spent inside this place.
The owners are replacing the refrigerator so there will not be an issue with the noise anymore. There is a house between this one and the highway, but with the windows open, you can hear the traffic. We are sorry to see this guest did not enjoy their time here and hope to have another chance to impress them.
Steve E.May 2018
Clean and tidy, a short walk to the beach. Good central location for exploring the coast from Newport to Florence.
Mark S.Apr 2018
Access to the beach was fairly easy. The cabin was clean and we'll stocked, except for frying pans. We bought some at the Lyons Thrift Shop and left them. The yard and cabin were private and surrounded by trees & ferns. We had a great time there and in Yachats!
Johanna S.Apr 2018
Cozy little cottage that has everything you need for a weekend getaway. Has a little trail back to the beach and a wonderful backyard/deck area to use in nice months. I will definitely go back again.
Sarah M.Apr 2018
This little cabin is a great spot for a couple or a couple plus one toddler. It combines the allure of the ocean with the coziness of a wooded retreat. The property is cozy, quiet and has a yard for a little one to run off energy. The access to the beach is a short walk down a trail. The only thing that could have made it better is an ocean view.
John W.Mar 2018
This is a homey cottage that is cute and comfy. Just a short walk down the path for beach access. Furnishings are comfortable and kitchen dishes and gadgets are well stocked. TV & Wireless have easy access and a bookcase with plenty of games, cards and books are available. Linens are clean and plentiful. Heaters work well on cold days.
David W.Feb 2018
This home is well decorated, comfortable, and relaxing. it had everything I needed during my stay. It was the perfect getaway for me.
Scott M.Feb 2018
The cottage was clean and warm upon arrival. Bailey our dog loved the back yard and close walk to the beach. Thanks for a great stay.
Russell W.Nov 2017
This cute little cabin was perfect for a few nights by the beach. Less than a five minute walk takes you to a vast expanse of sandy beach. Perfect little getaway spot.
Lucille B.Oct 2017
quiet....well set up....clean....dog friendly....comfy bed....nice shower....great kitchen for vacation cooking....close to the beach which is almost private...we shall return...
Linda K.Oct 2017
This is a great little cottage with easy access to the beach and welcoming to dogs.
Kellie P.Sep 2017
Perfect cabin for 2. Centrally located and close to the beach and local restaurants.
Liz S.Sep 2017
Cottage was perfect for my boyfriend and I for our end of summer vacay!
So appreciate that a pet was accepted and that there was a yard for our fur baby!
Beach was literally just steps away down a path and through a canopy of trees!
Kitchen had everything needed during our stay.
I am sure we will stay here again!
Michael C.Sep 2017
Just what we needed as a base to visit Oregon during the eclispse. While the air is cool and often foggy at this time of the year, we were accustomed to that, being from the coast of Northern California. The house is small, but not unexpectedly so as the advertisement and the house matched. The small deck in the back is a pleasant place to enjoy the fresh air.
Julie B.Aug 2017
We stayed here with our two daughter--it had everything we needed. A nice walk to a beautiful beach. The cabin is small is small but perfect.
John C.Jul 2017
Lovely, little cottage. Very relaxing and great if you have a dog because of the convenient backyard. Be aware that it is very small, almost like studio apartment.
Marianne W.Jun 2017
We had a delightful and restorative stay in the little cottage. The privacy and beauty of the spot was the perfect environment for us. A lovely place to rest, read, explore and enjoy the quiet. The beach is beautiful and it was great to be able to walk from the cottage to the beach.
Jessie W.May 2017
My husband and I went to the coast for our anniversary and enjoyed our time at this quiet, cozy house. It was perfect for the two of us and the location was perfect for easy access to multiple towns and a great drive to many parks. The beach access was great. Having a well stocked kitchen made our mornings and nights easier. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.
Jeff W.May 2017
Cute little bungalo and very clean.
Todd P.Apr 2017
Bed was soft, kids had a hide a bed, showers where hot, fire for the evening and Netflix to close the night , we were just fine.
Bruce C.Mar 2017
Went here for a week and enjoyed our stay, although it rained everyday there was plenty to keep us occupied between Florence and Lincoln city.
Jeff And Kai L.Feb 2017
We really enjoyed our weekend at the cottage. There have been some recent updates made, and we thought the home was even better than the photos.
Ginger M.Nov 2016
Great little place to stay. So close to a quiet beach and Yachats. The perfect getaway.
Ron W.Oct 2016
We ended up leaving a day early because of a crazy storm that was coming. One night of crazy wind that was downing trees was enough for us. Property and house were awesome though!'
Don &Twila B.Oct 2016
Clean, fixed up cute
Pat And Larry W.Oct 2016
Very cute Cottage, yet very small., best for single or couple. Cute neighborhood, short walk to beach. Right between Yachats and Waldport so convenient to beaches, restaurants and an easy drive up to Newport.
David H.Oct 2016
Fresh huckleberries all around in Fall add a delight to any experience at this cottage.
Joe F.Sep 2016
This is a great little cabin for a romantic weekend getaway for two. The place is in great condition, everything works and stocked with linens and kitchen utensils as you would expect. Although you cannot see the beach from inside the cabin, the beach is just a short 75yd away walk down a private path.
Note the cabin is too small for four people, but perfect for two.
MARK F.Sep 2016
This was an amazing rental. It was so peaceful and quiet. I hope to be able to go back next summer and stay for a week.
DAria D.Aug 2016
The weather was perfect, the people were friendly, and the beaches were amazing.
The rental is very cozy (in other words small) and we did fine with 2 adults and 2 medium dogs after moving some things around. This location would be best for a couple, or a couple with a child or a dog or two, but not really more than that due to the size of it. It is best used as a base camp for daytime adventures.
The home is very close to a beach, but the access to the beach, while convenient to the home, was a bit difficult once you made it down the stairs. The drop to the rocks below could be a problem for those with mobility issues or who are unsteady. You can hear the surf, only if the highway is not busy, due to the home's location, but it is very secluded and private.
Furniture is comfortable overall, but not meant for long stretches of sitting or sleeping as it is a little worn.
Note that the home does not have a washer/dryer and you will need to travel into Waldport to do any laundry since the laundromat in Yachats has closed. BUT since you are in Waldport doing laundry... stop in to the Flounder Inn Tavern and have their chicken wings or half a chicken. You WON'T be disappointed. The absolute best fried chicken we have EVER had!
Be sure to check out the video store in Yachats as they have a good selection of movies, the ice cream/candy store for some amazing treats, and the Drift Inn for some good food.
Michael M.Jul 2016
Great location, great place for a short stay.
Brenda O.Jul 2016
Great location only a stones throw away from the beach. Cabin could use a little update but if you are spending all of your time at the nearby ocean who cares!! The VCR doesnt work so if you are planning on that for entertainment, bring DVDs instead.
CHELSEY C.Jul 2016
Quite homey, cozy, and comfortable. Extremely short trek to the beach was awesome. We were always happy to come "home" after a long day of beachcombing!!
Christopher P.May 2016
My boyfriend and I rented this charming cabin for a long weekend away and it was great! It took less than 90 seconds to walk to the beach from the front door and the neighborhood was very quiet. The beach was beautiful and pretty much vacant. Our dog is still tired from all of the exercise she got.
Unless you bring coffee and food with you, you'll have to drive to either Waldport or Yachats (as the house is pretty much in the middle) but it's a quick drive and there are some really nice places to eat in both towns. There's also a lot to see with Cape Perpetua nearby and the Newport Aquarium was only a short drive away.
The house itself is small but clean and functional. I think the reservation said that could sleep 4 but that's only if the 4 are really close. There's not much room to spread out inside. However, it's perfect for a couple. The bed was nice and comfy and the futon which can spread down to a bed is also a great place for a nap. The backyard isn't fenced in but there are enough natural barriers to keep our dog corralled in under supervised excursions into the yard. The back deck is a nice place to relax as well. We would definitely stay here again!
Erica D.May 2016
We had one of our best Oregon Coast vacations this last weekend. Everything was perfect. We loved that we could take our dogs along to enjoy the beach!!! The cottage was very clean and equip with everything we needed. Can't wait to go back!
Cindy H.Apr 2016
Cozy, clean, comfortable. A woman celebrating her 64th birthday, and her sweet husband, could not have asked for better accommodations.
John P.Apr 2016
Great beach and a clean place!
Shiloh T.Apr 2016
Our family of four were delighted with the cabin and enjoyed the location - woods, beach and proximity between Waldport and Yachats. We will be back!
Anna B.Mar 2016
Really enjoyed our long weekend on a quiet stretch of the Oregon coast. Cabin was perfect for two people (+dog) and internet was totally reasonable, because, well, thats important. Also enjoyed the awesome outside hose for cleaning after the beach.
Julie M.Feb 2016
This little cottage was very comfortable, close to the ocean but yet very private. Enjoyed very much and would love to come back.
Braden W.Feb 2016
overall, a wonderful experience, cute house very clean.only one channel works on the cable. But a larger tv with a DVD player would be our only complaint. Great location.
Tena C.Dec 2015
House was clean and comfy. Short easy walk to great beach (with rubber boots). Hear the ocean roar from the house. We will return
Dustin W.Sep 2015
The cabin is very "cute". It is much smaller than I thought it was going to be but since it was just me and my wife it was just right. It was clean and well supplied with dishes for anyone that wants to cook there instead of eating out. Fortunately there is a closet full of games to play since the cable didn't work the whole weekend we were there. We actually had to have conversations with each other instead of watching TV. Sheesh 😊. My only other complaint was the bed and futon. Neither of which are comfy to sleep on. All and all, what really mattered to me was spending time and reconnecting with my wife and that was fully achieved. That you, and if those small details are fixed, we will be back again.
Melissa O.Sep 2015
The cabin was very clean and cozy. However, do not expect to the see the ocean from the cabin:(
Michelle G.Jul 2015
My husband, black lab, and I just returned from 10 days at this lovely cabin in one of the most beautiful spots on the coast. I can't gush enough about it. Yachats is a sweet little town, the views are divine, the beach seems infinite, and the sand is soft and glorious. (We're used to rocky beaches here in Washington.) We walked and frolicked and relaxed our butts off. We were in heaven, our dog was in heaven, it was heaven to sleep with the surf as our soundtrack. The house was small but immaculate, which we really appreciated. Loved the Adirondack chairs on the beach porch and the recliners inside -- nice touch. Got a ton of reading done. Ate a truckload of fish and ice cream. Having the option to go out to eat or make our own meals was a bonus. Same with all the beaches and state parks nearby to choose from. Thanks for such a delightful spot to escape to.
Marilyn P.Jul 2015
We loved it, exactly like the pictures. Can't wait to go back!
Shirley P.Jun 2015
This cabin is in a nice quiet location, great access to the beach where you can take a long peaceful walk. Only real drawback is it needs a new bed. I would stay again and recommend to friends only if I knew it had a new bed.
Thank you so much for leaving your feedback. The mattress has now been replaced with a new pillow top mattress and should prove to provide a wonderful nights sleep! Thank you for choosing Vacasa!
Christia S.Apr 2015
This was a great little place to get away from Portland for the weekend. My husband, myself, and our two dogs enjoyed the beach multiple times a day. The short walk to the beach wasn't too far, or too close to be windy out. Actually there was no wind all weekend, unusual for the coast! We spend the weekend exploring Yachats and Newport, making breakfast, and dinner in the cottage, and packing lunches for the road!
Clover M.Dec 2014
My husband and I truly loved our experience at your cabin by the sea! We look forward to staying again.
Stephanie B.Dec 2014
Everything was great!! It was off the beach enough that in winter the storms don't ruin your stay. Short hike to beach access for the daring vacationer in the winter months.
Charles H.Nov 2014
There is lots to like. Comfy, clean, dry and warm. Good kitchen well supplied. Nothing fancy. Loved fire pit and privacy of backyard. Beach was close and easy to get to. Bed is a bit too soft for us. TV is small. Cable TV was so so. This place is way better value than a motel.
Thanks so much for sharing your review! We are so pleased that you had a great time at this wonderful home and we are pleased to say that the mattress has been replced! Thank you so much for your feedback and staying with Vacasa.
Nancy E.Oct 2014
A small retreat at the coast with great short distances for adventure of all kinds.
Janice S.Jul 2014
We had a very wonderful stay. Very easy access to beach and different little towns around. We would definitely recommend this little cozy cottage for two people!!!
Gail B.Jun 2014
My husband, our dog and I enjoyed a relaxing week at the Woodland Cottage. It's small but perfectly comfortable for a couple, just as pictured in the photos. The cabin is nestled in the woods, yet its only about a two minute walk to a short wooden staircase which deposits you right onto a beautiful beach, where you can walk for several miles. We cooked most meals in the well-equipped kitchen. When it was warm enough, we lounged on the back porch reading, and were entertained by songbirds and a little rabbit who visited the backyard every afternoon. All in all, it was a great week at the Woodland Cottage!
Thank you for your kind review of this lovely little cottage. It's perfect for a couple or small family. The location is fantastic. Beach access is 75 feet west down a short path that leads to stairs. There are some boulders you have to cross over to get to the sand but it is a fairly easy path. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay.
Sandra G.May 2014
If you want fancy , look elsewhere. Sweet little place, comfortable and quiet for the most part. Close to the road so can get some traffic noise. The beach is a stroll away and isn't visible but close enough to be enjoyable. The surrounding area , Waldport, Newport and Yachats is fun to explore with lots of neat little shops.
STACY W.May 2014
Great little get away. Better than a hotel, private beach. Lot of fun!
Daniel F.Mar 2014
While the cabin is small, it was big enough for two adults and two kids age 9 and 4. The internet worked and i am pleased to say i dont know if the cable services worked as we were never in need of entertainment. We loved the games already at the cabin and wish i would have brought another to add to the pile for others to enjoy.
We purchased some groceries at the store and were able to cook most of what we ate there at the cabin. If the weather is rainy, plan to have rubber boots to aid in getting to the beach as it was quite a muddy mess of a trail at points although the trail itself is only about 50 to 75 yards down to the beach.
Thanks for your great review. We are glad you enjoyed the cabin and had a good time playing the games. We hope to see you again in the future!
