If you’re not interested in going far, you can spend relaxing hours at the shared pool right outside your condo.

This comfortable condo is located on the second floor and has a living room with a balcony that overlooks the pool. We arrived February 23 2019 with our pup after 10 hours of driving on the road to find the 2 end units on the far side of our block were destroyed in a fire Nov 7 2018. Noting plastic tarps on our roof, we inspected the property only to find there was a large spot of water damage on the master bedroom ceiling. At time of booking Oct '18 I stated I don't like surprises and I trust the home is as represented in the pictures. OUR ISSUES: No one told us and they should have. While we were relocated to a 2nd unacceptable unit, we left it at 4:30 in the morning and came back to Beachwalk, because of my asthma problems with the mustiness and dirtiness in the other unit. Read your terms and conditions when booking and revise them if you need to. The master bedroom king bed super uncomfortable and not attached properly to headboard. It had a foam mattress, probably a moderate replacement from water leakage due to the fire. The master bathroom and especially the shower needs to be completely renovated and there is a hole in the floor in the 2nd bathroom. We did not use the 2nd bedroom as there were only us 2 and our dog. The dishwasher rack needs replacement. Anyways, after much back and forth communications with the General Manager, who is new, we did receive an offer for an upgrade which we declined because we like our location so a partial refund was given and we continued to stay in the unit. I think HHI / Vacasa needs to be more transparent with its customers. I won't rent anything without seeing all relevant interior pics, especially the bathrooms. The location, however, is perfect for the walk to the beach. Shipyard, overall, is a great spot on Hilton Head Island. The balcony area is nice. Maintenance comes in once a week to blow leaves off it. We didn't know (renters should be advised especially if you have a dog, so it doesn't bite strangers when they just come up and walk on your deck). Also, after a bad rainfall, there was more water leakage on the master bedroom ceiling and we reported it. I asked that no one come into the unit unless we are there, mostly because of our dog. That did not happen. Someone did come in when we weren't there and left a note. So beware if you need maintenance to come in when you are not there. That's about it. Would rather not have to write a review such as this but felt I had to. The bigger question is, why is it taking to long to fix everything??????
