The property was just as described on Vacasa.
Conveniently located.

The pictures that we saw when booking were not what we got. Be cautious and confirm before you rent. If all the rooms are like ours I would have to assume the other comments were made by the staff.
Manager response:
We are sorry to read you felt misled by the pictures. We feel the unit appears as shown and described in the listing. We are verifying this with our listing on third party sites as well. We hope to have another chance to impress you in the future!

The Drake Condo was a great affordable location in Bend, OR. My husband and I stayed for 10 days this winter. We enjoyed visiting Bend and having a winter adventure. We will be back in the spring or fall.
The condo was clean and in a good location. The bed mattress needs to be replaced and the couch maybe but it was overall a good place to stay. We do not tend to stay in on vacations, so just need a place to sleep and make breakfast and dinner. The kitchen was just what we needed and had full size stove, fridge, nice large toaster, slow cooker, good plates, bowls and good drikng glasses and coffee cups. There are two good size patios that we did not use (no view but had a nice large gas grill) and a very short walk to a very nice view of the river. The condo had 2 bathrooms with normal bath/shower combos that had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. Did I mention it was clean!
That being said the noise from the upstairs neighbors kept us up. I am pretty sure they were just walking around normally but they sure sounded like elephants. I would not classify this a a "cozy" place. There could be a bit more comfortable furniture/seating, it's a smaller place so that could be a good reason for the less is more in the furniture department but a cozy chair somewhere would have been nice for reading at night after a long day.
Overall I would recommend this place if you are looking for a home base to rest your head while you spend your day enjoying all Bend and the surrounding areas have to offer.

Great clean spot centrally located near downtown. Has everything you need for a comfortable stay! Just steps away from walking trail along the river and wonderful park!

Good place to stay. Very clean and within 2 miles to downtown.

We could not have had a better location for our activities. The place is quiet and well maintained. The wi-fi worked great.

Overall this was just the rental we needed this weekend... a home base from which to launch to various explorations.

Future renters should be advised that this was a second floor unit and there are both upstairs and downstairs neighbors. Sound traveled very easily both directions. The upstairs neighbors sounded like elephants and we know that the people below us heard our steps as well. We probably won't stay here again for that reason.

Great property...perfect for our family of 3. The bed in the living room is a murphy bed. I didn't realize this when we rented and it wasn't a big deal as the bed in the bedroom is huge so our 7 year old just slept with us. So just an fyi if you don't like dealing with moving furniture around for a Murphy bed. All in all - this unit was wonderful!

We had a great time exploring the area. We ended up taking a cab to the downtown area which ended up being $20 round trip but you could easily walk if you prefer. The bed was super comfortable and the apartment stayed dark late into the morning which was good and bad. The neighbors upstairs stomped around quite a bit and that's our only issue but overall It was a great experience and we can't wait to come back and would stay here again.

We stayed for 3 nights and were able to walk to downtown, the park by the river and the Old Mill District. We drove around town some but usually had our car parked in the space provided. We were happy to find a spot right in front of our condo. The neighbors above us were a little loud one night (footstomps) but after 11 it was very quiet. Having 2 full bathrooms was a treat!

Great condo in a quiet complex within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Felt like home. Hotel rooms over the four days we stayed were priced higher and did not provide the value of having a kitchen, two full baths, nice deck w/BBQ, etc.

Clean, efficient, great location.

I loved staying in this modern condo. The decor, furnishings, and amenities all exceeded my expectations. It felt like home and I was a little sad to leave. The location in walking distance of downtown was a major plus. Also my dog and I took advantage of the easy access to the river trail on many occasions.

Excellent place to stay and relax.

While a bit loud, the quality of the accommodation was solid and it was a very good value. The units are not well insulated so noise does carry. I do recommend ear plugs just in case you are a light sleeper. We had no issues with noise after 9:30 or 10pm. The people in adjoining units were quiet and respectful.
Pam L. Feb 2016
We were generally comfortable here except for sleeping. The pillows were flat and the beds were old and in need of replacement. The property is nice and adjacent to the river and a great park and walking trail.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review. We are sorry that your sleep was not all it should have been and will be sure to advise the owners. We hope to have another chance to impress you!

Loved it. Would stay again.

I was a tiny bit reluctant booking my stay here when I saw the pictures. My concern was that it would be an apartment complex and my visit wouldn't be too welcomed. That was foolish! Everything about the complex and staff were perfect, and then when we opened the door for the first time our eyes lit up! The room is incredible, with 2 balconies, 2 bathrooms, and exceptionally well taken care of. The neighbors were quiet, and the room peaceful. There is a fantastic park right outside the complex, with river access/trail that leads you right to Downtown Bend. We definitely plan to come back, and highly recommend this building.

I really enjoyed my stay here at The Drake. The kitchen was well stocked, the property looked like the photos, and the location was superb. I had a great time staying here and would definitely stay here again.
Heather W. Jul 2015
Great location to hop on the Deschutes River Trail for a beautiful run or walk. A bit of a walk (10-15 min) to the downtown area and a short drive to Columbia Park but not cumbersome at all. The porch stares right at the wall of the next building but we were so busy, we hardly needed to spend any time out there. My kids loved the pool! Overall, a very nice weekend! We were pleasantly surprised with the condo!

Nice apt. Spacious, view is mostly of the building next door.
Laura M. Apr 2015
My partner and I spent a nice long weekend here, and this place was perfect. So nice to have two bathrooms with showers, a full kitchen with lots of appliances (just be sure to bring your own cooking spices, measuring cups/spoons, and oil), and a beautiful bedroom with comfortable king sized bed. We enjoyed playing games on the raised bar table in the kitchen, and reading on the couch. The TV and fireplace are great - just wish they had a DVD player. But we enjoyed the beautiful weather and outdoors. So nice to be able to walk to downtown from this property, and didn't even realize it was a gated community. Neighbors were not loud. (You could hear footsteps and showers above, but it wasn't overwhelming). We'd love to come back here again with friends.

Unit itself is spacious and clean, updated appliances, comfortable king bed. Located a few blocks from downtown and a short drive to the old mill district.
Keith J. Aug 2014
This little condo is a pretty good location. It has been beautifully updated with slate and granite. The condo is a great place to stay if you are just looking to sleep and eat. There is no view, your balcony looks out to a cement wall.
Tanya D. Aug 2014
Would definitely return!

It was an easy walk down to the river at Pioneer Park and the walk downtown was pleasant as well! The remodel was tastefully done and it felt like a modern building. I am looking forward to many more trips to Bend and staying at one of these condos again!
