The service from Vacasa and responsiveness of the owners was exceptional. Whenever I emailed about anything I had a reply the next day. The microwave was not working, and when I emailed about it they had a replacement installed in less than 24 hours. Firewood was not present (maybe the previous renters used it all), and when I inquired they said they would reimburse us for what we bought.
I must have said 50 times, “I can’t believe how clean this place is. Even the clear glass light fixtures had no dust on them.” I have never been in a tea tap home that was so clean. Ever.
Uniquely clean, exceptionally generous with little things like toilet paper. Most home rentals make you go buy everything. They supplied soap, little bottles of shampoo and conditioner, and enough towels to dry a herd of elephants.
We were there for a ski vacation. If you are there in winter, heed the owners guidance: you need a 4WD vehicle. From the entries in the log most people seem to LOVE all the extra amenities in summer (kayak, dock, etc.). Note that it does not have a bathtub or jacuzzi or hot tub, which would suit skiers.
A few small nits. It could use a few simple upgrades or replacements to make it even more perfect, such as replacing the recliner, a larger tv, fixing the door on the upstairs bedroom so it stays shut, but these are small things.
One final thing. I don’t know who did the construction on the additions but man are they good! There was not a single draft in the home, and there were days when it was below zero and windy.

Great location by the lake. 20 mins to Sunday River. Roomy inside, very amenable for socialising and relaxing.

The cabin was lovely and homey with plenty of extra amenities. Roomier than I thought it would be. The view of the pond was wonderful. Quiet and peaceful!

The house was well appointed with all the necessities for a comfortable stay. The master bed was very comfortable and absolutely quiet. If you want to catch up on some great sleep, then this is your place. The area was also great and afforded easy access to some great hiking and golf (Sunday River!!!). Nice little town of Bethel too. The only downside was the neighbor liked his jetski. Something about a Maine pond and quiet that seems to fit. Luckily, that annoyance was only on the weekend.

This cabin is the perfect blend of "camp-y" character yet still clean and bright with minimalist/simple decor and modern amenities. It is a beautiful, private setting right on the pond. There is no sandy beach, but the water is very shallow (only about 2-3 feet deep at least 50 feet out from the dock) and warm with a sandy bottom a few feet out from the shore, so it's perfect for young children just learning to swim with floaties. The dock can get hot in the afternoon direct sun, so you might want to bring a beach umbrella with a stand, or retreat to the shady, cool side yard. There are two trees perfect for stringing up a hammock if you travel with one (not provided). The downstairs king bed was extremely comfortable. There is only a shower stall, no tub (just mentioning in case you need a tub to bathe little kids). The kitchen is well stocked with just what you need without being cluttered with a bunch of rejects from someone's main house (which is often the case at camps). A few amenities not listed in the description that might be helpful to know: lots of window/floor fans, Graco Pack n Play, large grill, beach towels, large floats for the water, yard games (2 corn hole sets), and board games. There are two Adirondack chairs and several of those reclining lawn chairs, but they are a bit heavy/awkward to lug around from the dock to the firepit to the yard so you might want to bring a few smaller camp/beach chairs. Based on the photos I didn't think a baby gate would work on the indoor stairs, but a railing has been added so a baby gate could be used if you bring one. We hope to be back and think this would be a great place to stay in the winter to ski at Sunday River too. Thank you!

We walked in and fell in love with this adorable home. We had everything we needed and more to enjoy our stay! Although the weather wasn’t the best, we found puzzles and games to have a good time. We got to enjoy a beautiful sunset on the private dock! Thank you so much and we will be back for sure !

The lay out and location of the cabin on the pond were incredible. It was quiet and peaceful. We loved the fact that it was not too close to the crowds at Sunday River but also not too far of a drive. Lastly, loved the fact that we were able to bring our English Bulldog on our vacation. Thanks!

Songo Pond Cabin was a terrific place to spend Thanksgiving 2018 with our family and dog!

Beautiful setting, well appointed house in all areas.

This house is situated down a private dirt road almost out of sight of any other houses. Staying there, we had a real sense of solitude and quiet. A large lawn separates the house from the pond and large windows give an extensive view of the pond. The house itself is comfortably furnished with good quality furniture and furnishings. The management is excellent. Missing paddles for the canoe were delivered within an hour of our request.

This was one of the best locations for a family vacation that we have ever taken. We stayed at Sunday River a few years back and knew we wanted to be near Bethel because of the quaint town and close proximity to hiking, kayaking and Grafton Notch. We picked the perfect spot. It wasn't just that the house was on a beautiful lake and close to town. This house came equipped with everything. For outdoors there were Kayaks, canoe, floats, fishing poles, outdoor chairs and a fire pit. Inside was just as equipped with every kitchen item possible, tons of bath and beach towels, toiletries, fans, games, and plenty of room to spread out. I would recommend this amazing house to anyone vacationing in Maine.

Upon arrival we were greeted with a clean, cared for property that had considered many of a vacationer’s needs. There were paper supplies to get us started, wood for a fire, plenty of fans (first few days were hot!), and an ample supply of inflatables and kayaks to enjoy and explore the pond. The pond was shallow around the dock which made for easy play, and the bottom is sandy which surprised and delighted us. Yard space was ample for our 4-day cornhole competition, and the house itself was a treasure. The extended family room overlooking the pond was tranquil and the open floor plan ideal for all - even our 7-month old grandson who could see all the action. Everything in the house worked well, though I will caution that cell coverage at the house and surrounding communities can be a challenge. We have ATT which has a pretty weak signal in the area; so be ready to take a break from your electronic habits! The house is close to the town of Bethel which has shopping and sipping options. Also nearby is Sunday River which provides some hiking opportunities in the summer months. Will definitely return as all 3 generations found just the right mix of activity and relaxation in a beautiful, scenic, clean and comforting environment.

Our group of 5 (which includes our dog) had a great time at this property. All of the amenities were really great, the house was very comfortable, and the Vacasa host was very accessible. Our only suggestion would be to add a picnic table.

It was a wonderful place to meet family and spend time together in this cottage on the pond! Loved that we could have our dogs-they absolutely had a great time. Just about everything you would need is there at the rental for you. Charcoal grill, 2 kayaks, outdoor furniture, fire pit, dishes, pots, pans, lobster pot and cracking tools, towels and so much more! Fishing off the dock was lots of fun-it didn't take long to catch 2 large sunfish and a small mouth bass. Just a short ride to the quaint town of Bethel with a bakery and other places to visit. Thank you to the owners for helping us to create wonderful memories!

I'd love to say this place is terrible so there is no competition for reservations, but I can't; it's incredible. Quiet. Beautiful. Peaceful. Relaxing. Clean. Modernized, but not too much to lose the camp feel. Beds are so comfy. Awesome even on a rainy day. Bethel is lovely. Can't recommend more

This is a great house in a great location. It's on the private (and non road) side of the Pond so there's no need to worry about traffic. The host is very accommodating and easy to work with. The kayaks and floats were great to have on hand so no need to bring your own. Great touch to have so many beach towels available for our use as well- that was an unexpected surprise. Overall, a great place and experience!

Kirk was a great host, very accommodating of our scheduling requests and with his help, finding the place and checking in were a breeze. The house was terrific, exactly as advertised, spacious and with beautiful views of the lake. It has everything you need for swimming, kayaking, fishing, and other outdoor activities. We would love to come back if we return to the area.
