It's beautiful, quiet and peaceful. The view is fabulous from the balcony!! Coffee, a beautiful Ocean view and a peaceful vibe, that what the Ocean Rogue Inn provides!
The room was clean, cozy and comfortable. All the comforts of home. The kitchenette was fully stocked with all you need to cook with or bake.
Windows all around the unit, you can open or shade down to your liking.
The bathroom was very clean and fully stocked with full fluffy white towels, A personal favorite feature of the unit.
Vacasa customer service was friendly, accommodating and prompt.
Thank you for the stay. Look forward to the next!
This is our second stay at #8. We love it because it is upstairs with a balcony front and back. There is a great view of the ocean from it and the solid bank of windows means ocean views from the living and dining areas. A few minutes walk through grassy dunes and you are on the beach, just a little ways from the Twin Rocks. I loved the easy access and walking my dog on this quiet stretch of beach. We have come twice now in the off season and the whole place has been very quiet. The weather was still very nice so I'm talking before and after summer vacation but not yet winter. I would give this place a 5 if it had a tub and a better couch. The shower is fine if a little cramped, water pressure and temp were good. I like the big comfortable bed and the general layout. The outside stairs could be a challenge to folks or their dogs who don't get around so great so beware of that. There are units on the ground floor with just a couple of steps up. If you want a great view and great beach access this is the one. Our dog spends all her time out on the balcony watching the ocean and the wildlife. Will always come back to #8.
I've stayed at the Ocean Rogue at least yearly for many years, and I still love it!
One thing of note: For some reason the shower had a lot of mold collecting (this has never happened before in the many years I've been coming), and many of the dishes were missing. I reported this to Vacasa and they sent Randi over the next morning. She did a great job getting the shower in much better shape, and she hunted down the missing equipment. The moral of this little story? Vacasa was definitely responsive, which pleased me.
This unit was semi-disgusting!
The shower looked like it was pulled out of an abandoned RV with chipped paint and mold everywhere. The towels were old, drab and stained. The bedspread was that super cheap, scratchy polyester. The shag carpet was filthy and about ten years past needing to be replaced. The furniture, lamps, wall art and light fixtures were all stolen from a 1977 traveling carnival show. Absolute puke!
This unit is perfect for college students on a budget. This unit is not a good choice for any self respecting family man who cares for the comfort of his family.
Quiet, hassle free, with everything you could want. This unit is upstairs so you have view of waves and nice propane fireplace. Good for two people - would be a little cozy for 4 but would work. Nice king bed but only curtain between bedroom and dining. A little worn but everything works great.
Very quiet, that's good. Clean, comfortable, beautiful beach. Please be aware that when we were there that there was only one dinner plate (lots of other little ones), only two forks, only two mismatched larger coffee cups. but lots of bowls and drink glasses. These were minor and our stay was excellent.
Nice, quiet location. Clean, and the price is right! Our new go-to spot!
We really enjoyed our stay in unit 8. We could see the beautiful waves from the living room area, the kitchen had pretty much all the dishes we needed to prepare and cook small meals, and our kids loved the swing set and sand toys when we weren't at the beach. It was so nice to cuddle up with popcorn and hot cocoa to watch a movie with the fireplace on on our last night there, which was cool and rainy.
The kitchen and bathroom were very outdated, but mostly clean. The shower needed a good scrubbing. We could tell previous guests had had a dog with them, we could smell it in the carpet, which needed a cleaning but wasn't any worse than we would expect for a reasonably priced beach side hotel.
The very short (1 or 2 minute) drive into town was great for dining out. We ate at the Beach Bite & Dos Rocas restaurant and the food was so delicious.
We would definitely stay at Ocean Rogue Inn again.
Cozy little place right right on the beach. My family and I love how quite it is at this location in Rockaway Beach. Clean, well stocked plenty of room for 4. A little out dated inside, but that isn’t bothersome to me. I will say the pull out couch mattress is awful. Like sleeping on a prison mattress. The couch is fine, but the mattress not so much. We also would have liked to have coffee available without having to go get it to brew at the house.
We rented the top half of house option. The stairs to the rest of the home are blocked off awkwardly and there is a little noise from the people downstairs. Again, not bothersome to me. I think you can rent the whole house and they probably just block it in halves to rent it out to more people. We were left with plenty of clean linens and toiletries. The dishes and cooking equipment were good. Overall, we loved The Ocean Rogue Inn by Vacasa. We will be back!
We apologize for the disappointments this guest experienced. We are taking these comments seriously and discussing them with the owner. Thank you!
The view from this upstairs unit was amazing, once the fog lifted. Easy entry and exit. Was disappointed they have quit having in- unit Ocean Rogue Blend coffee available.
They have a nice little setup here with several small cottages adjacent to a common area and then beach, which was really nice. Would be great for a group. Cottages are nothing fancy but perfectly fine. The bed was better than average. Overall a thumbs up!
I loved staying here! This house was so cute and charming and everything I wanted for a too-short stay on the beautiful Oregon coast. Favorite details: the phenomenal view of the ocean, the little deck, the weird movie collection, and the adorable layout.
Loved this little apartment. Nice views. Everything we needed. Sweet gas fireplace. Easy beach access. Hope to go again!
But, the sofa/sofa bed were uncomfortable. No sleep possible. We picked this unit to have 2 separate sleeping areas (we had a snorer amongst us!). But there was only a curtain between bedroom and living room. So snoring was not remotely contained.
Still, will likely go again. But bring an air mattress & ditch the snorer!
We wanted something close to the beach with a kitchen. This unit worked out good for the two of us and our dog. It's nothing fancy but was clean. We could hear the folks in the unit below but they were quiet when we went to bed so it worked out fine.
With extended stays at the Ocean Rogue Inn for the past three years, about all I can think is, "Can't wait to go back". This is a home away from home - great people, attractive, comfortable, pleasant, full kitchen, convenient location, and of course the beach and Twin Rocks in your back yard. Ocean Rogue offers high quality and outstanding value. It feels like home.
Loved it. Was easy to find, quiet and wonderful view is the ocean.
Awesome views from the balcony! Great access to sandy beach.
Great location, great view, and overall peaceful experience. We come up from Northern California and will definitely stay here again.
I have stayed at the Ocean Rogue many times. My family used to vacation there when I was a kid. #8 is probably my fave unit (love the fireplace and the view). So, it was exceedingly strange to make a reservation this time and have no personal element. No nice lady to chat with when you arrive collect your key, or when you realize you'd like to borrow a board game or DVD, or when you can't find a corkscrew in the flat.
There was a name and a number for a "local" contact person on the table and that was it. The key was in a lockbox by the door. We got an email offering us a late checkout option (we took it). There were a few other people staying at the motel, as it was the middle of December. I wonder what it will be like in the height of summer with nobody to hold down the fort.
My friend and I jokingly referred to the place as a "zombie motel". We concluded that staying at a self-serve motel (which is essentially what Vacasa is running) has no real advantages. The price is not lower, despite the absence of onsite workers. You completely lack the human element. I don't think I would mind this in a home vacation rental, but with a motel it's bizarre. I am not sure whether we will stay at the Ocean Rogue again. I have a lot of memories there, but I'd also prefer that my money go to local people and not to an offsite, Portland-based management company.
We absolutely understand the tone of this guest’s comment. It has been mentioned in the past regarding the extremely sweet lady who greeted guests. Vacasa’s management of the property includes the help of local staffing to oversee and maintain up the units. Thank you.
Perfect place for walking the beach and watching storms roll in. Centrally located and easy access to browsing the towns from Seaside to Lincoln City.
We loved all the windows facing the beach and the quiet setting.
