Surround yourself with Mt. Hood's woodlands, streams, and ponds at this three-bedroom Rhododendron cabin, a cozy, dog-friendly home with a wrap-around deck, access to seasonal community pools and tennis courts, and a wondrous location close to ski slopes, hiking trails, and the Sandy River.

This two-level home sits on a quiet cul-de-sac a few miles north of central Rhododendron, in the midst of dense woodlands that provide wonderful privacy, and is the closest home to the community pools. Take short strolls on summer days to the banks of the Sandy River or the community pools and tennis courts (please note that a day use fee applies), hit the trail to Ramona Falls five miles east, and spend the winter skiing at Mt. Hood Skibowl (14 miles east), Timberline Lodge and Ski Area (19 miles east), or Mt. Hood Meadows (25 miles east).

Built in 1970 and thoughtfully maintained since then, this 1,536-square-foot home offers a tranquil setting for getaways in every season (please be aware that a high-clearance 4WD vehicle is required in winter). Build a fire in the wood-burning stove, watch the snow fall through the picture windows, and curl up on one of the sofas to enjoy the free WiFi, Apple TV, 100+ DirecTV channels, and DVD player. You also have a private hot tub for relaxing soaks.

Spend summer days flipping pancakes in the spacious kitchen (with a dishwasher), sipping coffee on the wrap-around deck, and walking your dogs on the trails that follow the Sandy River (please note that a two-dog limit applies). Take a hike to the summit of Tom, Dick, and Harry Mountain 12 miles east, come home to toss your clothes in the washer/dryer, and light the gas grill for a backyard barbecue among the streams, ponds, and evergreens.

We really enjoyed our recent visit to the house. The hot tub was great, the house was clean and well stocked with everything we needed, and we loved the wrap-around deck and easy access down to the Sandy River. We would be happy to stay here again.

This is a nice, spacious, comfortable home with a private piece of paradise, backing up to a quiet creek and footbridge leading to hiking trails that lead to the Sandy River.

Was a beautiful place to relax for the weekend.

Clean and well maintained. Had a nice hot tub and cozy fireplace after a long day out and about. Had everything we needed for our stay! Will be back!

We very much enjoyed our stay. The setting is lovely, and the hot tub is fantastic (although I did have to download the manual as it went into low power mode and doesn’t have a a settings button).

The main door to the patio is through a bedroom with wall to wall white (!) carpeting with no mat or non-carpet area, leading us to close off that door and go all the way around the building to avoid soiling the carpet and incurring a cleaning fee. The house is strictly a no shoe zone due to all the white carpet throughout, which seems to be a poor choice for a rental, in general. Firewood had not been restocked, but there were a few super large chunks of wood and an axe. Be prepared to chop your own wood. No cell reception, which is definitely to be expected in that area, but the WiFi is great!

We loved our stay. The kitchen had everything we needed, the hot tub was soothing, the forest is right out back and really beautiful.

Absolutely loved and enjoyed this place! Could only imagine what it is like in the snow! Hot tub was perfect! Great selection of games, though one chess piece was missing, plenty others there to creatively take its place. Vacuum cleaner was rather clogged, and took about 1/2 hour clearing it out, but then worked great. I highly recommend this, though be weary, as it is just outside cell reception.
Manager response:
Hello Andrew, thank you for your review. We appreciate your feedback and have let our local property manager know to check the chess game for missing pieces. We appreciate your cleaning out the vacuum, but next time know that our agents are available 24-hours to have someone to clean it out for your stay. We hope to host you again soon!

Loved our stay here! Lots of room and the hot tub was amazing. Close to amenities, good food and Mt Hood Adventure Park. Great trails and a community pool a stone throw away. Would definitely stay again!

Nice entrance to the great room and kitchen. It also was helpful to have the master on the main floor with private bathroom. We were pleasantly surprised how inviting and clean the jacuzzi was especially in the middle of winter.

We loved our stay and loved the house in the middle of the woods. Every thing was well explained and organized. My only suggestion is to update the appliances and the quality of the towels.

The hot tub was just what I needed! Plenty of space, great trails, peaceful.

We had a great vacation here! The highlight was eating dinner on the back deck and sitting in the hot tub with the beautiful and private forest view.

Vacasa staff were easy to get in touch with and were friendly and very helpful. This house is in a beautiful location in the woods by the Sandy River with views of the mountains.

My husband and I and our four kids loved our stay here! We enjoyed the creekside setting and having trails right out the back door. The house was comfortable and clean. We had a couple of hiccups with our stay, but Christopher from Vacasa was immediately helpful and took care of everything right away. We will be back!

Had a great time at this enchanting little house with a wonderful backyard and cozy hottub
Marcus P. Feb 2018
Nice, comfortable, and clean home nestled in a small woodsy community. Great restaurants nearby. We loved watching the snow falling outside and the wood stove roaring inside. The hot tub is fun overlooking the creek. Highly recommend.

Great location! Secluded yet close to town and the Mountains! Nice setting with the hot tub being a nice addition!

We have stayed here before and love this house. It is well located for access to the mountain and the winter sports. It is also good for hiking in the summer. It is clean and cozy and has ample common space for the family to congregate and enjoy meals together after vigorous activity during the day. The house is situated at the end of a quiet cut-de-sac and is a short walk to the river. The kitchen provides sufficient dishes and cookware so that we could prepare and eat all of our meals in. There are many toys and games for the young and old to enjoy. The hot tub is an additional benefit especially after a day of winter sports. I definitely recommend this house for summer or winter vacation.

La casa está hermosa con mucha naturaleza alrededor, cerca del Río y varios trails cerca.
