Dog-friendly chalet surrounded by towering trees and hiking adventures

Escape to the mountains and surround yourself with the tranquility of the forest when you book your next trip to this dog-friendly Idyllwild family home. Featuring a comfortable style and room for up to four guests plus one well-behaved dog (for a small nightly fee), and easy access to attractions like Lily Rock, everyone will be able to slip into vacation mode with ease.

Two miles from the iconic rock climbing at Lily Rock, and about a mile from mouthwatering dining spots and shopping destinations in town, you'll have everything you need for a hassle-free stay. During the colder months, we recommend using a 4x4 vehicle to access the home safely. Please also note that the driveway can be too slick for vehicles if icy, so guests should be prepared to walk approximately 25 yards from the road to get to the house.

Kick back on the porch after a long day of hiking the trails with an ice-cold beverage. Gather around the table after cooking a delicious meal in the fully equipped kitchen, or grill outside on the gas BBQ and dine on the patio. Fire up the wood-burning fireplace while the private washer/dryer does the laundry. Break out the board games while the free WiFi streams some background music, or connect to your personal Netflix account to find the perfect movie everyone will love. Grab a drink and end the day watching the stars come out through the swaying trees out on the deck.

With a wide array of outdoor fun to dive into and the peace of the mountains surrounding you, this Southern California home is an ideal spot to get away from the hustle and bustle to enjoy some quiet time!

It was very clean, not far from town, great porch for relaxing.

The home is lovely and comfortable. It's in a quiet cul-de-sac area and is a short drive to town. Enjoy time on the front deck and super comfy couches in the living room. Roku and other on-demand TV options were a plus.

actually everything was great, would like to stay longer with the family. One small thing may be to complain about (but is really only small!), If you are bigger than 6 Ft, then the beds are already quite tight, the sofas for that perfect!

While there was nothing glaringly terrible, at nearly $250/night, this didn't feel like a very good value.

Pros:
- Great location.
- A good amount of space (especially for 2 people).
- Super clean.
- Solid set of amenities (dishes, etc).

Cons:
- SUPER outdated interior, and not in a 'cool, rustic cabin' kind of way.
- Heating/Cooling. With the heater(s) on, you're crazy hot; turn them off, and you're immediately freezing. No real middle ground.
- The bedroom curtains were very light, making for extremely bright mornings.

Overall, you could do a lot worse than this place, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it.
