Location and proximity to the beach was awesome. . Parking wasn’t too good and the third fooor was very hot.
Samantha C. Mar 2018
When we arrived, we noticed the garage was not fully closed (somewhat broken). When we tried to get in the house using the padlock code, the door would not open because the deadbolt was on. Therefore, we had to climb in through a broken window on the back deck that was connected to a portable air conditioning unit. When we got in, we also found a broken closet door, a disassembled toilet, vomit on the balcony, and minimal towels and toilet paper. We contacted Vacasa who connected us with the property manager. The property manager was very helpful and apologetic. He informed us a group of rowdy spring breakers stayed at the house the week prior. He sent over a maintenance man immediately to fix the broken window (it was falling off the tracks and rain was coming in the room from the AC unit). The maintenance man was very kind and helpful. He made a temporary fix and informed us they are going to replace the portable unit very soon. The kitchen was small, yet workable, but the pots and pans were terrible. We scrubbed for hours to get residue off the pans we used. The patio furniture was mostly all broken. The bedrooms and bathrooms were great - no complaints. The bunk room beds were not that comfortable, but it was fine. The house was pretty sandy and sticky when we arrived, but that's understandable. The parking situation was not good. We used the one assigned spot, but we could not fit even a small sedan in the garage and still squeeze through. We were able to squeeze another car in the parking lot, though. We were not a high maintenance crew so we made it work and had a great time overall. We shared the duplex with some friends of ours - which I would highly recommend since the patios are basically connected (separated by wooden barriers). The location is awesome, except the beach behind the house is public beach so we had a lot of visitors coming in from the boardwalk next to our house. We had beautiful views and saw dolphins in the morning! We walked to the Crab Trap a few times (which is very overpriced, but yummy). The sunrise was amazing. I would recommend this house if you have a low-maintenance or young group. Probably not ideal for a nice, family vacation.
Manager Response:
The garage and closet doors have been fixed, and the patio furniture has been replaced with more durable options. Housekeeping has had further training on completing better cleans. We have installed wall units on the first and third floors, so there are no more window air conditioning units. We sincerely apologize for the experience this guest had and hope to be able to impress them on a future visit.
