This cottage is in a great location, less than a mile walk to the ocean. It was clean and homey, linens were stocked well and the hot tub was very nice to come back to after a day at the beach! We would stay here again!

Location was awesome. Loved the quiet yet peaceful sounds of all the birds. The house itself is charming and we loved the record player!!
Veronica L. Mar 2018
The house is very clean and taken care of. Couch and bed were super comfy. The hot tub was great- and it was so nice that it was covered since it was storming the first night we got there but were still able to use it. We were surprised to have WiFi access when the description said there wouldn’t be so bonus!

Sea Slug Cortage was very cute. It was clean, and cozy. The bed was really comfy and we loved the kitchen! Would be a great place to bring our grandkids. If the hot tub would have been in working condition I think it would’ve been the perfect place for our getaway.
Charles H. Nov 2017
One of our favorite beach towns and this small house was right close to the Main Street of town
Clare R. Nov 2017
We loved this beach house and the awesome hot tub and activities. We will certainly be back!
Joan N. Oct 2017
Manzanita is centrally located on the Northern Oregon Coast, close to everything. The two bedroom house is spacious in its living area and the master bedroom is supurb.
Micki C. Aug 2017
If you don't mind not having wi-fi and using simple amenities such as basic cookware, this is a good value and about 3/4 mile from the beach by car. As far as beach homes go, it is adequate and quiet. We were not expecting high-end or new. It met our expectations and was more spacious than anticipated.
Chris B. Aug 2017
This is a lovely two-bedroom house in a very quiet nook of Manzanita. It was impeccably clean when we arrived and the house itself is very well maintained. It's clear the local management team cares about the details - the kitchen knives were even sharp (which is almost unheard of with rentals, I've noticed.)

Highly recommended for families, pet owners, and/or couples.
Laura H. Aug 2017
Nice beach house 'feel'. Great kitchen space. Enjoyed our stay here.
Jonathan B. Jul 2017
Lovely location but property has been neglected & needs some TLC
Heather B. Jul 2017
The cottage was lovely, only a short walk from a beautiful beach.
Danielle T. Jun 2017
This place is great for a small group. Private hot tub, big kitchen and walking distance to the beach, couldn't ask for more!
Brianna P. May 2017
A perfect, quiet place to rest and get away from your normal life.
Eric C. May 2017
My wife and I enjoyed the cottage. Hard to find dog friendly with a hot tub at this price point so we will be back!! The bed is comfortable, the tub is great and the location is quiet, but close to town.
Alexandria H. Apr 2017
We spent quality time playing board games and the area was very relaxing and quite. Enjoyed ourselves.
Douglas Sue H. Apr 2017
We enjoyed our stay at the sea slug house, the spa was awesome, the house was clean! We would stay there anytime!
Kelly M. Feb 2017
Great little spot! Close to beach and town. Plenty of room and a hot tub. Just lovely, would be nice if there was a fence for out dog, but the fact that this place allows pets was awesome!
Lisa J. Nov 2016
Very cute. Great location between all the best coastal sites. Very clean. This cabin made our weekend!
Nichole R. Oct 2016
The house is clean and the wood stove is a must in the fall and winter. FYI- bring your own wood or stop and pick it up at the store.
Greg H. Aug 2016
Nice private pet friendly house
Nancy N. Jul 2016
Its a ways from the beach, but an easy walk to and from the beach. Spacious enough to not feel crowded with 4 adults.
John P. May 2016
nice location in quiet neighborhood out of the fray; like an old friend, not fancy but reliable
Sally J. May 2016
The cottage is a lkvely old cottage which need to carpets out! Other than that the location is pretty central for most activites and the beach is close enough. 200yd walk. Variable internet access. The kitchen is well supplied with utensils etc. The washroom water of the basin needs fixing.
Hot tub was clean and a welcome warm up after surfjng. The price was a little high, but ok.

We checked in late at night so we couldn't really get the scope of things until the next morning once the sun came up. Dust thick enough to write in, on the nightstands. Dead bugs on the floors throughout the house. Cobwebs littered with dead bugs in the kitchen windowsills and hanging from the light in the hall. The worst part was probably when we discovered tiny dead spiders covering the kitchen countertop and stovetop. At first, I thought they were crumbs from our dinner the night before but I now believe we just hadn't seen them without having turned all of the lights on and cooked our dinner right over the top of them. (So, so, so, gross) Cobwebs covered the exterior of the patio area, the siding of the house, the sides of the hot tub, and garbage from a previous stay was left outside (i.e. used mustard bottle a quarter full of old mustard. Gross.) Cobwebs also covered the interior windowsills, door frames, lights, and even the coat hooks. Bug droppings and dust covered the living room mantle. Windows had been left open, the BBQ had not been cleaned after the previous use, and the dishwasher had not been emptied from the previous stay. Our first request to have the house cleaned was not met. We spent the day away from the house and returned to a filthy cabin. Turns out, the person ticketed to clean was actually on their day off but since no one at Vacasa followed up about it, we had to call them again to ask once more to have the house cleaned. The house eventually was cleaned but the next morning, more bugs and fresh bug droppings in the kitchen. We called customer service once more to inform them of the state of the cabin and that we were vacating immediately. It's been two weeks and other than waiving our cleaning deposit and offering a discount on future stays, we've had no response from Vacasa. This place needs to be scoured top to bottom and fumigated. You know it's bad when you feel the need to shake out all your bags when you get home, lest spiders or cockroaches decided to climb inside. I'm putting pictures on Instagram if you want to see them. #myvacasaseaslugpics #donotstayhere
Manager response:
We are very disappointed to see that housekeeping was not up to our standards for this reservation and the problem was not rectified as quickly as it should have been. The Property Manager will follow-up with housekeeping and will take care of the bugs.

Great spot!
Gerald N. Mar 2016
We stayed in early March and there were Hurricane force winds. We lost power for couple hours. Rained and hailed the entire time. The hot tub is covered and the storm was amazing to watch that way. Very fun trip.
Daphne A. Mar 2016
This is a cozy, comfortable, well stocked house in Manzanita! It is so welcoming, cute, and loaded with amenities. It is located two blocks from the beach. The hot tub is perfect, super clean, and well lit. The main bedroom is very nice. The kids bedroom is perfect! Lots of space for extra guests. Fun outdoor activities available such as bocce ball, bbq, outside patio seating. Good gracious! Book a place now! We love this little jewel!
Larry L. Feb 2016
It's a basic place. Hot tub was good. Bed wr used was good. Very old TV, not all channels working although most did. Not plenty of wood as advertised and it could use a thorough cleaning. Don't take your spouse there, good for the guy weekend.
Lyla H. Feb 2016
Great pre-directions to get there. Easy to find. While not on the beach, it is only about a 1/4 mile walk and it keeps it relatively sand-free, which is nice. Kitchen is large and modern, master bedroom is roomy. Lots of entertainment both inside and out. Great place to stay on a tight budget.
Dave E. Dec 2015
A beautiful place to enjoy Manzanita. The backyard hot tub is great and sits beside some old growth type of woods. Possibly a little over-priced.
Lauren E. Jul 2015
House worked well for family with two small kids and a dog. Nothing is in brand new condition, but when traveling with kids and pets, this can be a good thing. Short walk to the beach, but on a windy road with no sidewalks, so it is a little perilous to walk, especially with young children.
LISA L. Jun 2015
Such a relaxing getaway, lovely destination, the beach just a short drive down the road. Manzanita is close to Cannon Beach and Seaside, and the road to all places is lovely, windy, and fun! I will stay here again!
Alexandra J. May 2015
This cottage is comfortable, sweet, and has a lot of personality. Despite being a small cottage, the common spaces are very roomy and there are plenty of options of places to sit and eat, enjoy tea, warm yourself by the woodstove, gaze out at the beautiful garden. My one complaint is that the chlorine level in the hot tub was so high it stung my nose to inhale the steam while soaking. I would recommend reducing the chlorine in the water. Other than that, the tub is in a sweet location with a serene view of the forest.
Heather Y. Apr 2015
Our family very much enjoyed our two nights at the Sea Slug and the accommodations matched the price we paid. We will have great memories from the beautiful sunsets and family time there.
William W. Mar 2015
So often we find a nice place to stay but end up driving somewhere almost every day. We parked at the Sea Slug and dropped into a daily rhythm of walking down to the beach... picking up groceries or lunch in town... back to the cottage... super relaxing, no need to use the car. Brought our son's dog and he had a great time playing on the beach. WiFi signal was an unexpected bonus.
Manager response:
Thanks for the great review. We are really happy that you had such a wonderful trip and loved being able to walk everywhere. Please do come visit us again soon!
Stephanie K. Mar 2015
I came here with a couple of my girlfriends. The Sea Slug Cottage was wonderful. Very clean, minimal clean up expected, and perfectly situated.
The hot tub was divine, the property manager very friendly and available.
Just a great spot to call home for a few days.
Kim L. Jan 2015
Having virtually unlimited wood for the wood stove was a great thing. We used it every night.
Steven I. Dec 2014
not the fanciest of places but, hey, you can bring your canine friends. amenities were certainly not fancy but definitely adequate. beware of the stove, it either heats sooooooper super quick on high, or takes forever on medium....fine line there. grill started without a hitch in 25 degree sleet/rain weather which was pleasant surprise. the vinyl LP player was a treat. master bed not too bad. another word of caution, wood floors are very slick in socks.
Misty M. Nov 2014
We stayed here for a weekend and loves the place. It was nice and cozy, had everything we needed and more in te house. We enjoyed the secluded hot tub outdoors and wood stove inside. We will be staying here again for sure!
Joan P. Oct 2014
It is a great cottage and fantastic area to stay. There is a hot tub, bikes, games and anything you would want. We highly recommend this place. Thanks Joan
Manager response:
Thank you so much for recommending The Sea Slug Cottage! We are so happy to hear you had a great time!
Amanda E. May 2014
The pictures do not do this place justice! A little funky in the best kind of way, lots of personality, felt very comfortable and at home. Would love to make this place our "go to" spot. Great for kids. Loved the location from the beach. There is something very special to me about sharing a 'long' (10 minutes) walk to the beach with kids. You have plenty of time to soak up their excitement and have a chat about adventures in the sand. And the walk back, though it seems extra long, would not be the same without carrying tuckered out little ones on your back. The whole trip had a magical quality. We had a blast! Thank you vacasa and sea slug cottage for making us feel at home!
Manager response:
I love this review! We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay in the home. It is so nice that you felt comfortable and at home. We're especially happy that you had special family time on the beach with the kids. We would love to have you come visit again!
Martha N. Jan 2014
We loved staying at the sweet little Sea Slug Cottage! The hot tub was a wonderful asset, consistently warm and well up kept. The kitchen is huge and spacious, there's internet access. We also loved finding a fully functional record player and a stack of records! The beach is a 10 to 15 minute walk and Manzanita itself is a little beyond that. Sleeps 8 is ambitious we think. We found beds comfortably for 6 and there's only one bathroom. Well worth it though we had an amazing stay! 5 stars:)
Jon w. Oct 2013
The seven of us (three adults + two children + two dogs) had a wonderful time in Manzanita. There was plenty for us to do, the highlights were the tether ball, bocce ball court and the record player.
* it was comfortable
* kid friendly
* dog friendly
* not beachfront but a short distance to the beach
* it was quiet and peaceful
We will definitely be back :-)
Noelle M. Aug 2013
We just returned from an amazing 8 days in Manzanita. The Sea Slug was perfect for a family of 4...cozy and clean. The location to the beach is not ideal for small legs but is only a 2 minute (if that) drive. We had a wonderful time here and would definitely recommened.
Jerry G. Jul 2013
we were there to enjoy the beach and we did the weather was great.
Mike G. Jul 2013
the Sea Slug was a nice quaint resting place for a 3 day stay close to relatives in Manzanita. My wife would have preferred a location with a view of the ocean, but the location is close enough to walk to the beach.
Judy B. Jul 2013
A good friend of mine recently stayed at Sea Slug cottage. At first we were surprised at how close to the road it was but soon discovered that road was a direct and short walk to the beach. The cottage grew on us and after three days we were sad to leave!
Marianne H. May 2013
Very quiet quaint cottage! Loved the place, the location and booking was quick/easy! Was spur of the moment and Vacasa made this family trip thoroughly enjoyable! Kids got a kick out of the name Sea Slug and it had games for the family too!
Amanda-jane N. Mar 2013
A great place for kids. If it was closer to the beach, it would be 5 stars all the way. Has everything you need for a home base for a coast holiday.
Randall S. Nov 2012
Everything was as promised. Cozy for two, but big enough for a group, especially the kitchen. Got a kick out of the record collection. Didn't use the bocci court, but a great addition nevertheless.
Shirley R. Oct 2012
I loved the yard especially the bocce. Fun bird houses everywhere. Nice distance to the wonderful beach. Wish I would have been here in the summer to enjoy the deck. Lots of seating and lighting.
Rebecca W. Aug 2012
We had a nice time, very cute place. wish we had fans though when that heat wave hit. a wee bit to hot, and stuffy no breeze then.slug cottage name a bit odd.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review! We apologize for the unusually high temperatures during your stay. The coast rarely gets above 80 in the summer. Thanks again!
Sharon F. Jul 2012
AT first did not enjoy the distance from the beach but each day enjoyed the walk more and more, really 10 minutes to a miles long beach is pretty handy.
The cottage had more than enough of everything and felt very comfortable, welcoming and restful. Found the dog's ball tosser on the very last day..ohh well.Even had a gorgeous martini glass in the kitchen cupboard!!!!
Lois C. Jul 2012
We had a wonderful stay and spent time with our friends, bocce court was so much fun. The huge kitchen was super, three people cooking and lots of space, kitchen well equipped. We are planning a return trip next year, thank you.
