Cozy, secluded studio in quiet location near town, hiking, skiing, and more!

Show your special someone the restful retreat they deserve with this studio in southern Colorado. A quiet location helps you destress, while you'll be only moments from shopping, dining, and skiing.

This studio for two puts you only four miles from the charming town of Durango. From the history of the Durango Silverton Train Museum to the wide selection of shops and restaurants, there's more than enough in the town to keep you entertained. If you're looking for natural beauty, you'll be sure to find it regardless of the time of year. Lake Chapman is a quick drive to the west, while the hiking of the Colorado Trail Trailhead is only a mile and a half away. Too cold for a nature walk? Purgatory Resort is 29 miles to the north, with 85 runs for skiers of all skill levels.

Wood-carved furnishings and cushy sofas and armchairs make Hawk Nest a lovely place to retreat to at the end of the day. Aside from a few neighbors, your studio is secluded, surrounded by wide-open skies and fresh air. Use the stainless steel appliances of the kitchen to whip up an intimate meal to enjoy with your loved one. Free WiFi provides plenty of entertainment after dinner. I was by myself, but it would be a super romantic getaway for two. The upstairs is also rentable for larger parties, one happened to be there while I was there and we all made fast friends. Also met the owners... super sweet people. We are all friends. Special spot. Will recommend to anyone visiting.

Beautiful area! The size was perfect for the two of us. Full size washer and dryer was a bonus. The studio is a bottom unit in a house and you can really hear the people above you walking and talking, especially when they wear shoes. If you are a light sleeper beware. The unit has an abundance of kitchen gadgets, but no potato peeler, cookie sheets, large bowls for salad or spaghetti. Lots of pots with mismatched lids.
The directions to the place were not quite correct. We arrived when it was dark and ended up at another house. The owner came out and told us this happens all the time. You cannot see the numbers at night. Our biggest issue was trying to get up the stairs with luggage. It was overgrown with weeds that were waist high and it was dark.
No cell phone service for AT&T or Verizon.

It is close enough to town that it was convenient while still enjoying the countryside. It was perfect for us.

This was a lovely, well stocked home. All the amenities including washer and dryer. About 10 miles outside Durango, very easy to get to and very quiet area. You can hear the people upstairs, but we had no problems with them. Would definitely stay here again.

Loved being "out of town," but close enough to get there without hassle. Sunrise and sunsets are amazing. Newer studio with nice furnishings. The bed is very comfortable, but the frame needs some work.
