Resting among the lush green trees of the coast while only a short stroll from the magnificent Pacific Ocean, plan a stay at this sweet beach cabin and you'll discover why Yachats is truly the "Gem of the Oregon Coast" in this Central Oregon Coast vacation rental.
We loved our 4 days at this sweet cabin. Perfect for a family or just a couple of people. Easy to get to Yachats if you want dinner. Easier to stay in and cook there. Lulled to sleep by the sound of the ocean. Home is older but beautiful and quiet. Came home feeling rested and ready to tackle the world again. Thank you for sharing such a special place.
Everything ,The beach is clean and private. The cabin is very peaceful and private.
The cabin is very comfortable, includes all that one needs, has a very easy to use and well-stocked kitchen, and is generally adorable. The view of the beach/ocean is wonderful and the sound of the waves great to sleep by.
Very cute, cozy, and rustic cabin that really lets you get away from it all. It was wonderful to have easy access to the large and secluded beach. The cabin itself was the perfect place to get off the grid. After getting groceries for the week, we never had to leave - the kitchen had everything to cook your own meals. The fire pit was a great perk. Loved it and would come back!
We loved the privacy and the access to Stonefield Beach.
Honestly, when we pulled over and first saw the house I was a little worried. This is not a fancy beach house! But think of it more as a cabin by the sea and it really starts to grow on you. The view is lovely, with a quick walk to the beach (not for the elderly or infirm, however). The house was well stocked and quite comfortable for the three of us. Would definitely go back.
This little cabin had everything we needed to write, write, write, and then relax! The walks just out the back door the the beach was the perfect way to clear our heads. This may be the way to finish a dissertation, write a book, or simply rejuvenate at the beach!
This beach house had alot of character! Loved all the windows facing the ocean. Listening to the waves crashing lulled us to sleep every night. Kitchen large and well stocked. Loved the open concept. Beach access was fairly easy and CLOSE.
We had a great comfortable stay at Dulcinea's Cabin for our anniversary trip with our two dogs. Lots of homey personal touches, clean, and private. Would definitely stay again.
The town and surrounding area are wonderful. The cleanliness of the house...not so much. The house itself is charming and could be amazing. However the owner has chosen not to take very good care of it. Definitely in need of general maintenance and upkeep.
Plumbing didn't work properly. All drains backed up. The owner needs to spend a dime and do some maintenance. Contacted management in the morning, but no plumber showed and no follow up from them. Can't recommend.
We were pleasantly surprised on great this place was. Short walk to the beach. ( a little tough on older people or small children) We watched the sunset from the deck! The home was very welcoming. it was nice to have the washer and dryer in the house. We were able to wash our clothes before we left. Fully stocked kitchen was so nice since we cooked our meals instead of eating out!We did have an issue with the septic but it was handled quietly and quickly. It was a great couple of days!
We took our kids to just relax for several days. It was nice to be a little ways from town. The trees made you feel like you were out there on your own which was wonderful. It was great to be able to take our small dog along. One thing, totally on me, when I was searching, I was so hung up on rentals that allowed dogs, I missed the non-smoking selection. Having said that, I know it's difficult to find places that will take you and your pet; I assume it is also getting harder for folks that smoke to find places that allow that. Long story long, when we first got there, it was very smoky in the living room. Luckily, we opened the windows and the doors and it cleared out pretty quickly, but if you have someone with an allergy or asthma, this probably wouldn't be the place for you.
Our Vacasa homes are all non-smoking. We will investigate the matter presented in this review as it should not have been an issue. Thank you!
Quiet, private, Cabin style home. Not fancy, but comfortable beds, and enough space for 1-4 people. Steps to a pretty secluded beach, but only access down a sandy slope, not for anyone with mobility issues. Great beach for tide pools and beach combing. Nice outdoor space with a grassy area, picnic table, and fire pit. Full sized kitchen stocked with everything you would need, but who wants to cook on vacation? Some bugs, but who doesn't have them in Oregon? TV is small, with dish? few channels. Overall, great small family getaway, and beach access for the abled.
I liked this rustic older house with a great locale. A few issues didn't ruin our family vacation. Clean, well supplied linens and kitchen kept us easy to fix meals and sit around. Warm enough that we didn't have to use any heat, but definitely didn't need air except fresh off the beach! Access to beach was a bit hard, but once there, great tide pools and nearby hiking at Cape Perpetua. All in all, a fun time!
Super adorable, older-cottage type home with amazing views. Away from the crowds with a beach just steps away. Private. It's a great little place. Not fancy, but adorable.
Although the location and great appreciation for the owner to share their home with us, there are a few issues.
We had ants in the kitchen. The heater seemed to have a mind of its own regardless of following instructions and what the handy person had instructed as well. We kept it set and as soon as it would hit the desired temp, it would shut off as well as the pilot.
There was a very deep dip on the deck as you exited the slider, which I almost fell into at our first arrival. The shower entrance and step with threshold at the bottom was very dangerous and I fell on it and now have bruises on both legs and an injury recur. In addition, the space between the sink and shower were very dangerous. I was assuming the floor rug leading from the master was sound. Unfortunately, it was not, which is why I fell. It slipped from under my feet, regardless of my being cautious. There is one more issue in the entry to the living room. The threshold is far too high and there was no note advising this was an issue. Unfortunately, I tripped on it on my way into the living room upon our arrival. And lastly, the steps down to the backyard, although very cautious, are at a terrible angle and are slippery. We whole heartedly understand as it happens.
We are disheartened as we love this little cottage and its location, however, we will not stay here again. :(
We are disappointed to see this guest experienced so many negatives during their time here. The heater is designed to turn off once it reaches temperature; we are sorry to see this was a bother to our guests. The area between the shower and sink is a tiled step, and the bathmat has an anti-slip backing. The shower is a standard step-in shower with a 3 in. step. We again apologize if this set-up did not work well for our guests. Thanks!
My husband and I just celebrated our first anniversary at Dulcinea's Cabin, a place we'd stayed at a decade ago. We love it because we can take our dog. Everything was as we remembered except, I'd bet the Pacific is closer now! The location is fantastic. The kitchen is so well stocked, though by no means fancy, that we made all of our meals there. We really enjoyed our stay, both times. We've always gone in winter. I can only imagine how great it would be in warm weather!
We enjoyed a cozy stay and had a great experience. We were able to access sections of the beach that were "off the beaten bath" from the home. We also loved the well equipped kitchen and view from the living room. The beds were so comfy that it was hard to get up and enjoy the view!
We enjoyed the fire pit in the backyard overlooking the ocean!
A favorite place, very special!
Hi, don't let this little place fool you, our family spent three days here on searose beach, it was wonderful, the house is very organized, stocked with all the supplies you would need to cook, a nice fire pit area , and just a couple feet from a beautiful beach, with tide pools shells drift wood and some sand dunes for kids to slide down, small grocery store about 6 miles from the cabin, reasonably priced, a local brewery,we will definitely stay hear again for our next vacation, and we stayed at a perfectly beautiful fall vacation no, rain and temperatures from about 65-78 degree
The location was amazing- magical- great walks- very private-Kitchen stocked to the max-
We had a lovely time and really enjoyed being right on the beach . It was a diamond in the rough.
Peaceful, tranquil, everything we wanted.
Dulcinea's cabin was a true gift. We spent 5 glorious nights and 6 days there and hope to do it again soon. The home is situated just yards away from the ocean, though hard to see in pictures. Dulcinea's feels
like a house in another world. The rocks and tide pools are stunning. The fire pit in the back "yard" allowed for marshmellow melting and deep conversations. We also had great seats to a meteor shower on night! The parents, kids and dog were SO happy here! Oh, and the late check out option was a bonus and well worth it! Thank you!!
The view was beautiful and the cabin is set up very nicely. Plenty of room and most everything you will need. It was very windy the three days we stayed so we really didn't get to enjoy the beach area, way too cold and windy. We traveled up the coast it's no far from Newport or even Depoe Bay.
So enjoyable for family/friends to get together. We never left the property other than to walk on the beach in the 4 days we were there. So delightful to walk out the door and onto the beach trail. This beach cabin is very well equipped and comfortable.
We love this cabin and the beach is perfect for agate-hunting!

A wonderful place to get away and enjoy the coast
The home was amazing, so close to the beach and absolutely just amazing! We couldn't stop saying how happy and in love we were with the home! were still raving about it! as much as I want to keep this treasure to ourselves we will be sharing this with our family and friends!
Just got back from our family vacation and we loved the house. The cabin is located in a secluded location with easy access to tide pools, and sandy beach. It had everything we were looking for in a vacation home.
GREAT LOCATION! all else is a nightmare
We are sorry to see that this stay was not as enjoyable as we would have hoped, and we will be sure to follow-up on any improvements needed.
After booking this rental I read a review claiming it had toxic mold; I called the management to check on this as my husband has cancer and can't be exposed to mold. Management confirmed rental was mold free. I did find mold on the ceiling of the bathroom and the place smelled musty but not moldy. The de-humidifier in the bedroom had a full bucket that needed emptied when we checked in. There were electronic pest deterrents everywhere that gave off an annoying buzz that was noticeable when it was quite. The whole cabin needs a good deep cleaning. The view is great, but the beach access was not reasonable for our dogs so the beach had to be accessed elsewhere. All in all a cute cabin and a great view of the ocean, just needs some TLC and elbow grease.
The view was stunning, and the beach easily accessible. The house felt secluded, with a private drive and surrounded by trees and bushes.
Our family really enjoyed our stay at this secluded cabin. The beach access was even closer than I imagined, and was a great feature. I would highly recommend this place to a family with two to three children.
I can't say enough how comfortable we felt during our stay here. The cabin felt like home and we had everything we needed to enjoy either staying in or going out and exploring for the day. I cannot wait until we can come back :)
We spent the weekend at their cabin with our friends. The place is casual and cozy. We made good use of the bonfire kit and the 2 eight year olds had a blast roaming around and finding treasures. The 2 dogs ran the beach as much as possible. Spent Saturday afternoon in Yachats with the gang exploring and having lunch. Great time had by all!
Our most fav place to stay on the Oregon coast! We love the privacy and the beach access.
Amazing place to get away from it all. Will absolutely rent here again. Thank you!
We loved the Dulcinea Cabin for the private feel and quiet location. It feels like your own little niche carved out with your own private access to a wonderful beach.
If you want seclusion & quiet, this is the place. Our party loved it. We could walk our dogs on the beach & not worry about bothering anyone else. Was a grand time, & we plan to return.
We first visited Dulcinea 23 years ago. This is our 3rd time. It's a love slice of heaven. It's like coming home.
We loved the cabin. It's a very nice and peaceful secluded location south of Yachats, but the drive into town or to Cape Perpetua is quick and easy. The beach access really is directly out the back door and the beach has beautiful sand and we had it to ourselves almost every time we went out there. Great furnishings and decoration inside. This is a beautiful part of the coast and a great place to stay to enjoy it.
We enjoyed our stay here very much. You can't beat the view and listening to the sound of the waves at night. The beds and pillows were comfy, sheets were soft and the wifi was consistent and fast. We'll be back!
Thank you for sharing your 5 star review! It is such a pleasure to hear that you enjoyed this amazing home. We agree that there is nothing like drifting to sleep to the sound of the ocean. Please come visit again. Thanks for choosing Vacasa!
For the last 25 years my husband and I have rented various vacation rentals on the Oregon coast. I have passed up on this one over and over.... and only because of the queen (instead of king) bed. I cannot believe all the years we missed staying in this absolute GEM! I love this house! It is everything we've always looked for. I'll pass up on hot tubs and granite countertops and even king beds for the ambiance, the privacy, the beach and the feeling you get when staying here. I cannot thank the owners enough for letting us enjoy this place of joy :)
We are delighted to see that you have discovered this wonderful home, and we hope to see you again!
If you want a quiet, secluded vacation experience on a remote, rugged beach, this is the ideal place on the central Oregon coast. The bungalow was even nicer than we expected and falling asleep and waking to the ocean was awesome. Could not have found a better place to stay and will definitely be back next year.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review of your stay with us. We are so pleased that you enjoyed the home and it's location. Please do come stay again. Thanks for choosing Vacasa!
Everything was as advertised. Nice location and loved the quiet neighborhood. Only problem we had was the lock box directions. I spent several minutes trying to get the key out with the code supplied and then noticed the punch lock on the door handle. No problems after that. We also experienced a lot of big black ants running through the house. Not sure if they are wood eaters but we squished our share.
We appreciate your feedback and will investigate your comments. We are delighted to see that you enjoyed the home and hope you enjoyed the nice walk to the beach from the home!
We had a great time at Dulcinea's cabin. It's a special little spot with the creek running right through the property and Tenmile Creek just up the beach. We saw whales every day and watched the most amazing sunset we have ever seen. We will be back!
The secrets out. This place is really cool. Perfect for a family with kids and dog in tow. The beach access is close enough to spend the evening eating dinner next to a beach fire. The view included breaching whales and beautiful sunsets. Super clean, loved the kitchen and comfy beds. We have spent a lot of time in Yachats, even got married on the beach there. We can see our family coming back annually to Dulcinea. Really would not change a thing about the place except the public trail right next to the cabin. You feel really secluded until you look out the window (the view of the ocean from the picture) and see people standing on the trail looking out over the ocean. Otherwise, great little cabin with lots of attention to detail and character.
If privacy and seclusion with easy beach access is desired, it would be hard to match staying here. I am definitely coming back and wish I could have stayed for a month. I absolutely recommend staying here and give it two thumbs up. I would give more but only have two thumbs.
Picking this house was the best decision I made on this vacation. The beach and tidepools just 10 feet away are unbelievable. The house is beautiful and quiet. The secluded feeling you get staying here is worth more than money can buy. You just don't get that on vacation. We stayed 3 days and 2 nights. We had plans to go places and see things, as soon as we got there, all I wanted to do was stay at the house and spend time on the beach. We spend ALL day for 3 days on that beach and in those tidepools. We saw hundreds of starfish, crabs, and beautiful birds. We saw whales passing in the distance. We encountered maybe 1 or 2 people, some other people on the beach much farther away. You really feel the seclusion! We had a fire in the firepit out back while looking at the sky filled with stars and listening to the pounding waves on the beach that it literally, 10-20 feet away. The view of the ocean from that back deck is breathtaking. I will be staying here again and would recommend it to ANYONE staying on the coast. We wanted to stay in Newport and were worried about the drive, but it was more than worth it. You can't find something else like this out there. The drive was 30 minutes at most and we found that, the house was really were we wanted to be anyway.
Thank you for the kind, thoughtful review. We are so glad you could relax and enjoy the beautiful view. Thank you so much for staying with us, we look forward to your next visit.
What an amazing place. You can tell from the repeat visitors' nots in the guest book what a great spot it is. Very convenient to Yachats and only 40 minutes from Florence or Newport.
Thank you so much for the great review, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Next time you are in town you should also eat at Ona, they have very delicious food as well. We look forward to your next visit!
We wouldn't change a thing, perfect, a true beach cottage, with a very warm and inviting atmosphere. Easy access to the beach.
We had an amazing time at this cabin. Everything was clean and working well during our stay. The beach was a very short walk away with fun tide pools to explore. Yachats is a quaint small town that we enjoyed visiting. We would definitely stay here again!
I would come back here anytime and hope to do so!
This might not look like where you want to stay, but don't be fooled! Our family loved this cabin. It has two bedrooms, one is not very big but it has a bunk bed with a twin on the bottom. There is a futon in the living room that it quite comfortable. We enjoyed the fire pit every night and used the BBQ for all our meals. The bathroom is updated with a shower I wish I had at home. The water is well water so bring plenty of bottled water. There is a path right on the other side of what looks like a cliff, but is very easy to get to. Our only issue was the directions to the cabin, so hopefully it has been updated.
This property is absolutely the best if you aren't into high class and fancy. Our family has stayed at this property for nine years in a row and we will be back again next year. The cabin is a lot smaller than our home so we are cozy...and we like it that way (as long as it's only for a week). We spend a lot of time together, in the cabin and out on the beach. Every year it's something different and this year we saw a bald eagle hunting (and catching) his meal from the ocean. The agate hunting wasn't as good this year for some reason, but we'll hold out hope for next year as we love to look for agates which are normally very plentiful. We've watched the beach landscape change from year to year and this year it was much more sandy, as opposed to rocky. The trail down to the beach was a little more steep than in the past but we all managed just fine. The sunsets were absolutely gorgeous and the s'mores by the fire pit were enjoyed as usual. Can't wait for next year!
