The living space is the best feature of this house. However, the upholstered furniture is worn and uncomfortable. When you sit on the couch with the foldout bed you can feel the metal edge under you. The sofa bed itself could not be used because it was broken. The love seat has a threadbare and stained slipcover. The kitchen has lots of cabinets but they are of poor quality and filled with a hodgepodge of items. The drawers are dirty. No attention has been paid to organizing the drawers and cabinets with like items so you can find things when you need them. The ice maker does not work and neither did the vegetable peeler:)
It is important to note that the bedroom with the queen bunks is in a downstairs section of the house with it's own door and bathroom. So that means one bathroom is not really accessible to the rest of the house.
I have learned from renting several houses with Vacasa that you need to read the reviews and not go by the pictures! For the amount of money charged, this house was not really a good value.
The house was a lovely open plan that allowed for family to sit and talk and spend time together. Kitchen was fully appointed and complete.
My four generation family stayed at this home and really enjoyed it. We loved the spacious living area and all the places outside on the deck to sit and enjoy a meal. The proximity and access to the beach was an added bonus.
The living room was large enough for all of us to sit together! Great access to the beach with just a short little walk.
Our family of 7 stayed in this home for a couple nights in August. Very nice place and is approximately a block from the beach. Very spacious living area and could easily handle a larger group. Nice neighborhood with plenty of nice green grass. Can see the Gulf from the porch.
This house was perfect for our girls weekend. It is beautifully decorated, clean, and spacious!
We loved the big public rooms for playing games and visiting during our recent multi-generational family vacation. The Harry Potter bedroom under the stairs was a big hit with the young ones.
The home was in good condition and the main living area was quite spacious. The location was very convenient, just a block or so from the beach. The only note for families staying here is that the single bunk room is up stairs that are a tad treacherous for kids under four or five.
The house worked well for our family - multiple areas to hang out, and porches on opposite sides of the house, always a shady spot.
The neighborhood was quiet, and beach not crowded, made it easier to keep an eye on little ones
Nice place. Loved having coffee on large deck in morning..Easy access to beach...We had a wonderful time.
If you had to describe a heavenly experience on earth, this beach house is a “perfect paradise” for a large family or group.
Pelican Roost is perfectly located in walking distance to the beach, and surrounded with peaceful views from four different decks!
The house is fully equipped with almost every household amenity needed for the comfort of “home”
The neighbor is frequently patroled by the Galveston PD making our home away from home much more comfortable.
We plan to make this a traditional family trip for years to come.
From the VACASA main office, to the grounds keepers it is a
well worth the investment!
We had 6 adults and 2 children in the same house all week, and it was a delight. There was plenty of space to hang out together, cook, and eat. But we also had our own rooms when a little quiet time was needed. The house is beautiful, very comfortable, and very family-friendly (even with a 3 year old and 7 month baby). The house was super clean and well stocked, we are a family that loves to cook. Debra was the most gracious host, even stopping by on Christmas when there was an issue with the heating system. We enjoyed the beach and being close to Galveston for shopping. All of our children commented about how much they loved the house and the entire week. It was great.
The house was clean, well maintained and had good mattresses, linens, pillows and towels. Short walk to the beach and the neighborhood is right across the street from the BEST pizza place on the island. Everything in the house worked and the Owner was very helpful with questions etc. Would easily rent this house again.
This was my children and grandchildrens summer vacation. We all stayed there. The house was large enough and had everything we needed. Debra the owner was so kind and made sure we were well taken care of. It was close to the beach and the neighborhood was very quiet and the kids could play outside and we loved that. As well as the porches for everyone. There were so many get away spots for everyone if you needed to read , relax or just take a nap! We truly loved it. We would have stayed another couple of nights if it had been available! Thank you Debra for giving us a memorable family vacation!
