We loved staying at the Dorian! The place was bright with sweet French touches and great kitchen, though we ended eating out at the local restaurants most nights. A bonus was the bar downstairs for a nightcap, the Chandelier. We’d stay again!
The home was very cute & had a homey vibe. The bed was very comfy along with everything else in the home felt clean & very up to date. I was a little worried it would feel small being in an apartment building but it has very tall ceilings and cupboards, felt just like a Portland home!
One tiny downside is the person across from us kept going in & out constantly slamming their door but that’s the only noise we heard being there even though you’re right next the the elevator! It was great would come back again for sure.
Clean, secure, everything you need
The directions to get in were exact and easy. The studio had plenty of room and was well-appointed, with everything we needed. An added bonus was a variety of shower and hair products. And how nice to leave a bottle of wine for our enjoyment!
Even though we shared the beautiful patio, we never saw anyone from the main house for the 4 days we were there. The neighborhood is beautiful, and so close to grocery and drug stores, hair salons and restaurants, not to mention the best French bakery ever!
We were visiting our son and daughter-in-law who live in Oakland, and will definitely be returning to stay in your wonderful place!
Pros: super-efficient air conditioner, much needed during Portland's hot spells. High ceilings, tons of light through a wall of windows. Wonderful, deep soaking tub if you're into bubble baths. Very well sound-proofed, both from street noise and other apartments in the building. Easy to move in and out with nearby elevator. Good wifi connection. Easy walk to the river, (safe even at night) with lots of interesting shops, restaurants, and businesses along the way.
Cons: finding street parking can be time consuming, but it's a great neighborhood to drive around in.
The Dorian worked perfectly for 2 of us. The building is secure, and we always felt safe walking around the neighborhood. We did not do any cooking, but the appliances look amazing (would have preferred standard ice cube trays, tho). We did use washer/dryer. Great location for exploring SE Portland! Parking was usually within a half block - not sure why no access to garage or outside lot, but certainly not a deal breaker.
Excellent stay. Had all of the essentials we needed for a short stay in portland including items for cooking and laundry. Apartment was very quiet and clean. Good location, close to many cool breweries, cafes, restaurants. Would recommend to others.
Very Private and clean. Wonderful bed. Had a great stay here and it was perfect location in SE Portland. Parking was challenging but to be expected in Portland.
Our stay in Portland was incredible and much of that had to do with this condo. It was exactly as pictured and yet even more beautiful in person. We felt like we were staying in a luxury hotel. The vibe was vintage meets modern and I loved everything about what the owner had done with the place. All of the appliances were top of the line, Bosch in the kitchen and a super awesome Eltrolux washer and dryer. It was located in what I'd call the real flava of Portland, definitely the Portlandia side of the street, but central and easy peasy getting anywhere we wanted to go. It felt like everything we wanted to do took 10-15 minutes to get to from this location. The only thing I'll point out is we were traveling with our 11 year old twins and hadn't looked closely at the listing and assumed there was a pull out sofa, but there was only an air mattress. It worked out just fine, but putting away an air mattress is more of a pain. Ideally it's the perfect place for a couple, but our family was so so happy in the space nonetheless. What I assume is the management company, leaves a cute burlap bag filled with a couple of things like laundry, dishwasher pods and a small container of dish soap, such a nice touch. Thanks to the owner and Vacasa for a fabulous stay in Portland!
Dorian 501 was so clean and comfortable, it made our trip to Portland extra nice.
We picked this place for its proximity to transit and downtown and donuts, and we were not disappointed. This place does not have dedicated parking and occasionally we had to park a street over.
The space itself is clean and bright. The bed is comfy and there is a queen air mattress with built-in pump that stayed well inflated. It was not an issue for us, but one of the six chairs was broken and hidden in the closet. Be advised that the huge window let in a lot of AM light, so if you have kids who need darkness to sleep, I wouldn’t advise this place. Overall, I don’t think this is the best place for kids - we had to put all the breakable decor up and there is also a fair amount of street noise at night. However, we have flexible kids and it worked fine for our family. We even fit a travel crib that we brought in the bedroom closet for dark and quiet.
The bathtub was lovely, but we couldn’t use the shower because the shower curtain wasn’t waterproof. The bathroom is also in need of some towel hooks.
There also wasn’t any vacasa information provided about what to do for check-out, etc.
Overall, the unit was what we expected and we would recommend it.
The broken chair and shower curtain have both been replaced, and we apologize we did not get these items taken care of prior to this guest's arrival.
Very comfortable. Close to all the great things Portland has to offer.
fue una estadia, tranquila y muy comoda!
I loved the tall ceilings. Being on the 5th floor made for nice territorial views. It was nicely furnished and felt quite roomy.
