Good: right on the beautiful big stump beach just south of Waldport. Sheets and towels were clean enough. Small room but not that you should spend much in anyways. Plenty of outdoor cooking space. Excellent price.
Eh: room a little smelly. Window cracked. Carpets soiled. No coffee filters.
The room in unit #5 was adequate and acceptable. Nothing to write home about, but nothing to complain about either, really. With the exception that there was a couple dirty utensils left in a glass mason jar and not washed and ready for our use. Other than that our stay was just fine. A beautiful location on the beach, ocean view from dining table, tv & internet worked, and check-in & check-out we’re very simple.
My family stayed here July 16th-19th. We really enjoyed the accommodations. Yes it is a bit "rustic" for some, but everything was clean, the beds were comfy, and we even had a beautiful view of the ocean! If we come back to Waldport, we would definitely stay here again. It was better than we expected!
The space was clean and simple, and actually so much nicer in person than the photos show. The view out the window was hard to beat, and the beds were comfortable and fresh. Just a few steps, and you're on a huge stretch of sandy beach...amazing. Only downside was that the room next to us had a dog in it that wouldn't stop barking (it sounded like perhaps the owners left their dog behind for the evening). I doubt that is a common issue, as most would probably respect the rule of not leaving their pets unattended, and at any rate, the problem solved itself once the pet owners came back for the evening. A good reminder for fellow pet owners to not leave your dogs unattended! Anyway, a great place and a reasonable rate.
I was pleasantly surprised with how clean the unit was. The furnishings are dated, but with these units being dog friendly I didn't expect everything to be shiny and new. The appliances were nice and handy as well. The beach location was awesome!
Overall the place was fine for one night. But I couldn't imagine staying there longer than that. The room was very small. We expected to have a small kitchen, instead we had a microwave and a coffe maker. Cuttlery and mugs (both not very clean) were provided, but no plates!
The location is good, we spent most of our time at the beach! There is a little path between the houses going directly down to the beach.
We are sorry to see expectations were not met for this rental. We will work on writing a description that might better depict what guests can expect. Thanks!
This rental over looking the ocean is great! The new couches they added to this unit were comfy and were a great spot to watch the ocean from. We will surely stay here again. Plenty of room for parking. There was easy access down to the practically private beach.
Great place for a quiet getaway. Relaxing and an instant step onto the beach.
You pay for the location! Right on the beach. Hardly saw anyone the entire time so I pretty much had the whole beach to myself! The place is just okay, nothing special. But perfect for someone who just wants to spend time outside!
I'm torn as to whether or not I believe the price of the room was reasonable. The seclusion and beach access is fantastic, but the actual room left a lot to be desired. If you plan on just using the room for sleeping and showering, and don't mind a very firm bed, then it's a good place. I wasn't unhappy with the property.
We didn't spend much time in the room, and I might stay here again.
The pros: it was amazingly quiet, the ocean was steps away with a pretty secluded and pretty private beach (no public access), the landscaping is beautiful (huge Cala lilies and irises were in bloom), large bucket of beach toys near the stairs down to the beach, and I could see the ocean and sunset from a small window near the bathroom, pillows were great.
Cons: Room was very small, needed updates or at least some paint, beds were a little hard, has Netflix and Hulu - but only if you supply your own password. Only two windows open (but not the aforementioned ocean view one) Shower is tiny and if you're over six feet tall you will feel like it's a doll house.
The cottages were clean and have the basic amenities (frig, microwave, coffee maker). Ithe sunsets are spectacular and waking up to the sound of the ocean healing. Rooms are quiet, too.
After reading other reviews of this Unit, I had low expectations. I ended up being very pleased. The little room was comfortable for my husband and I and our 2 pups. Even though the cottages were full, we didn't encounter very many people and always had a parking spot. Everything was clean, the beds were comfy, and there was a beautiful view of the beach outside our window. The Wifi signal was strong enough to watch Netflix on our iPad in the evening. This is a great, inexpensive home base for exploring the central Oregon coast. Nothing fancy, but everything you need.
The view was awesome and being in literal 200 yards from the coast was great. The unit itself is old but acceptable. It can get a little warm during the hottest part of the day being on the second floor. Wish the window by the table could open. Overall, it's not spectacular but it's great for the price. Love the overall location.
This unit is the size of a hotel room. and it's an upstairs studio efficiency of a quadraplex. The price was good for beach front, as long as you know what you are getting. It was pretty small for four people. There is a tiny nook with a small end table with two chairs for eating. Half of the few dishes were dirty, and the only way to wash them is in the small bathroom sink with bar soap. Also note that there is no reserved parking space for this particular unit, but there is a parking area in front.
The beds were comfortable, and the view and beach acess is nice. I would recommend this unit if you are on a budget and don't plan on eating there or spending a lot of time in it.
This was a very basic room. Little more than 2 beds. There was one window with a beautiful view, but the window was off near the bathroom, not the main living space. There is very limited parking at this place, unless the room comes with an assigned spot, which Unit 5 does not. The room was hot and stuffy. It was also located up very narrow stairs, which was an issue for my older dog--a warning would have been nice. Overall, it was ok, for the price. But I would prefer to pay a little more for a nicer room and a better overall experience.
We are sorry to see that you did not love your experience in this cottage. There are some stairs for the unit, but we hope it won't deter guests from staying in this cottage that offers great beach access and an old-timey charm. Thank you for choosing Vacasa!
We LOVED the location of this cottage! With easy beach access down a private path, and a lovely view from the window, the location cannot be beat for the price! The room is small, as you can see in photos, but it was just fine for us (two adults, one small child, and one small dog). A decent sized mini fridge, a microwave, coffee pot, and toaster are provided for use. Also available for use are coffee mugs, wine glasses, a few plates, dish towels, and paper towels. If you plan on using the dishes, bring your own dish soap - there is none provided. Also be aware that the bathroom sink is the only one in the cottage, so you'll be washing dishes in the bathroom unless you bring disposables. :) The beds were comfortable, the linens clean and fresh. The cottage is noticeably older, so there are some creaks in the floor and a slightly musty/old smell in the room and hallway. The smell isn't horrible though, and is helped by opening the windows. The beach is lovely - wide, all sand, Big Stump is right there (www.big-stump.com), and is practically deserted (no public access?). All in all, a wonderful place to stay! I'd definitely recommend this cottage to others, and we plan on returning.
The staff were wonderful and very understanding of any issues.
Pretty great place, good location and view, was pretty small though even for four people.
Our room was small but cozy, and everything worked properly. The view was fantastic. Overall, an incredible room for the price.
