Dog-friendly oceanside cottage - 2 units in 1. Easy access to secluded beach!
This unique Oregon Coast vacation rental offers easy access to a beautiful, secluded beach - right off the private oceanfront deck! Situated just a few miles south of Waldport and only six miles north of Yachats, this is one of the rustic and charming Cape Cod Cottages.
This rental is comprised of two smaller units, combined to create one larger rental for up to eight guests. With two bedrooms and two full baths spread across two levels, this is a great option for groups who might like more space and privacy but still be able to socialize together. Since there is no interior access between the two spaces, everyone can enjoy privacy.
Downstairs you will find the living room with a hide-a-bed, dining room area and full kitchen, as well as access to the private deck with a beautiful ocean view. The bedroom has a queen bed, and there's a full bath with a shower only (no tub). Four guests can sleep in this half of the rental quite comfortably.
Ascend the outdoor staircase to the upper level where you will find a private entrance to a smaller unit with a comfortable seating area and a kitchenette with a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee pot. The small picture windows offer breathtaking views of the ocean, while the two beds (one queen, one double) allow up to four guests to share this space. It's the perfect spot for a second couple that doesn't mind outdoor stairs or need a dedicated kitchen, but wants a little more privacy from the rest of the group.
WiFi is included in your stay, and dogs are welcome! Up to two dogs may stay here, with an additional nightly fee.
The beautiful beach is just steps from the door, with nearly six miles of sandy shoreline to explore. For a quick weekend getaway or a long, relaxing vacation, you'll feel right at home at the Cape Cod Cottages.
It was very quick, uncomplicated and easy to get this place. The location is right on the beach. It was a little surprise that the second bedroom had a separate entrance - with smaller kids this could be a problem. But for the rest it was very pleasant and we enjoyed it a lot.
We stayed at the Cape Cod Cottages Units 4 & 5 for a long weekend. The units were cozy, clean, and had fantastic views of the ocean. Getting to the beach was just a walk around the building and down a short flight of stairs. Car noise from the highway could be heard from the bedrooms, but the views and easy access to the beach made up for it. It was a great spot for some family time and enjoying walks on the beach... and our dog also loved playing and running on the beach!
I love so much about these cottages -- seeing whales and seals from the deck is worth a lot. I like it that it's cozy and not yuppy. But a coffee maker with no filters and no carafe for #5?? No firewood and nobody on site to whom to address problems. Couldn't turn off the heat when it was broiling hot in #5. Unsafe deck -- rungs missing. I'd recommend discussing these issues before renting #4 and/or #5.
We are sorry to see there were some maintenance issues with this stay. We were out fire logs during this reservation; we apologize for any disappointments this caused. The thermostat has been replaced, and the property manager will make any repairs necessary for the deck. Housekeeping did not find a carafe missing during inspection so we are unsure of what the situation was there. Again, we apologize for any issues experienced.
This place is a worn out old cottage with many maintenance issues. You can do better for the money at a hotel. Try the Overleaf in Yachats.
We've stayed at Cape Cod Cottages many times over the years; it's a favorite because it's "beachy!" not "yuppie." Fireplaces, wood paneling, cozy feeling, and it's right on the beach - beautiful view; easy access! It's also a great location, close enough to walk to the Alsea Bridge - or, for the more adventurous, to Yachats!!! Staff was friendly and polite, too!!!
Beautiful view, great location, clean, adequate accommodation but a little on the shabby side in terms of furnishing. Although plates, etc are provided, there is nothing like coffee filters, oil, salt/pepper, etc. Deck is in poor condition (not suitable for children because of broken railing). Probably doesn't sleep six - more like four - for units 4 and 5 together.
Great location. Right on the Beach. Yachats only give minutes drive. Sand dunes only 45 minutes drive.
Loved this place! Beach access was perfect. Our dogs loved it as well. It had everything we needed. Though there was central air, the complimentary logs for the fireplace were much appreciated.
We'll definitely stay here again!
I read the reviews of a "rustic"cabin. This is more like a rundown, tired beach place from the 1950s. It's a beautiful setting, but it appears that the owners have no interest in upkeep. A handy man would go a long way to rehab this beautiful location. It's got potential. It should not be listed as a 2/2 as the bedrooms and bathrooms are in different apartments and only the downstairs bathroom worked. The upstairs bedroom/bath is like a dungeon. Too bad.
We are disappointed to see that this guest was not more pleased with this charming beach cottage. The Property Manager and owner are working on receiving a permit to allow renovations - we will keep our guests posted! In the meantime, both bathrooms are functioning as they should, and we believe guests can make themselves quite comfortable while staying in this great location.
We loved the rustic charm of the Cape Cod Cottages. It was a perfect getaway spot for our kids, grandkids & pets. The beach is just a few hundred yards away. You can watch the sunset from your balcony and just enjoy the sounds of the surf. If you are looking for luxury, look elsewhere. If you are looking for simplicity in idyllic surroundings, this is definitely the spot. We will definitely be returning!!
I was disappointed with these units. The pictures on the home page lead a person to believe that the place is bigger than it actually is. There was a musty/moldy smell that I tried to get rid of with air fresheners. I had to go to the grocery store and buy essential items, because there was not enough stocked. These units are advertised to house 8 people. They should only be advertised to house 6 people. The upstairs unit is cramped with two beds and one closet. 4 people would have a hard time sleeping there. The bottom unit is separate from the upstairs unit. The sleeper sofa is in the middle of the front room making it almost useless. We were left with 6 bath towels for 8 people. Ridiculous. There are loose boards on the deck, which is a safety issue. The only positive is the view and the beach access.
We are disappointed to read about this guest's experience with these fun cottages. The Property Manager will take these comments under consideration.
