The view quiet area close to everything and Newport is a treasure
This home is in the absolute perfect location for a trip to Newport! The beach was minutes away, and downtown was easily walkable as well. It took us (family of 7, with a two-year-old) only 5 mins to get to the beach, and 10 mins to get to downtown (walking). Overall, we loved the location and the view was wonderful from the outside deck. The decorating is very cute, very beachy, and made the stay very comfortable. The beds were cozy as well, and had plenty of blankets.
The bathroom and kitchen are adequate - both are older and could use a little updating. The shower (only 1) is VERY short, so while it was fine for me (I am 5’2”) both of my 6’ sons had to crouch. The kitchen has an assortment of pots and pans, but almost no spices. All that was in the cupboard was salt and pepper and some spray oil. It would be nice if they stocked some spices for cooking, and small things like a working can opener or pizza cutter. We did a lot of cooking (go get local fish from the pier!) but had to buy spices and a sheet pan.
Negatives - the house is very small. It is advertised as sleeping a lot of people, but we had 7 and it felt very full. The stairs to the bedrooms have a very low ceiling, so anyone taller than me will hit their heads if not careful. Also, they only provided a couple of rolls of toilet paper and only 3 garbage bags. We were there for a week, and if they advertise for a lot of people I feel like they should’ve provided enough of the basics. Also, please note that this house does not have laundry. They don’t advertise laundry, so that was my fault for not verifying, but I never stay at places without laundry. 7 people for 7 nights produce a lot of dirty clothes, and having to run to the local laundromat every day was not fun. There are several places that laundry would fit in this unit, and as a frequent vacationer I would recommend adding laundry as a huge upgrade, especially since this unit is advertised to sleep so many people.
We were very happy with Vacasa itself - we asked for a bathtub plug to give the toddler a bath, and they brought one over. We also had a chirping smoke detector problem (two different nights, multiple different detectors) and Trevor was out right away to fix those. We appreciated that so much, he was prompt and very helpful. Overall, the experience was wonderful! If we were staying for a shorter period of time I would definitely stay again, but due to not having laundry wouldn’t stay for a longer vacation.
Exactly as advertised and walking distance to Nye Beach
Close to beach, marina area, and main drive.
This little cottage was clean and neat and decorated very lovingly. Plus, its right by all the fun stuff on Nye Beach. It worked for our family for beachcombing, dining and curling up on the sofas and watching Caddyshack. Fun!
stunning view on the deck; everything is close by; our family enjoyed the stay a lot~
