The house fit our purposes great. We never used the hot tub but, I think, was charged about $200 in fees - some being the hot tub which was never used! I would have loved to have had the choice and saved the money!!
This is a great home for family and friends looking for a relaxing and comfortable home to unwind in. The house was well-equipped and we had plenty of space to read, play games, and hang out. The walk to the nearby beach is beautiful, but be prepared to pay a fee to enter. It's worth it! We went hunting for shells and tide pools and were not disappointed. The small grocery store down the street has everything you need and more.
Beautiful house, fantastic location! We loved everything about the place. We found our own mini paradise!
We were 3 couples, celebrating our 30th wedding anniversaries. This home was a lovely base for us to relax in, and really well located for trips along the coast. We enjoyed cooking breakfast in the kitchen, where we found all the dishes and pots and pans, and basic pantry essentials (salt, sugar, etc.) adequate for breakfast. We bought milk, bread, eggs, etc. at Surf in Gualala, not realizing that the Anchor Bay store was so close. The house has little beach/vacation home decor everywhere which puts a smile on your face. We enjoyed sitting on the front deck.
Walking down to the Mexican restaurant, Mariachi's, was very convenient, and walking back up the steep hill made us all feel very virtuous! The walk down to Anchor bay was also very convenient, though again the climb back, and the $3 per person fee, both felt a little steep. But the bay was worth it. :-)
We shopped at Palcewares, visited the Gualala Arts Center, Glass Beach (although we saw lots of people picking up a lot of glass pebbles, so visitors in the future may wonder why it's named that!). We arrived too late to Kayak the Navarro river so will do that next time.
All in all, we loved our 2 nights in this home. It was perfect for our needs.
This house was comfortable, well equipped, decorated with lots of love and care. The house was so sunny and beautiful!
We had perfectly gorgeous sunny albeit windy weather, which may be just the norm here along the coast. The house was well-kept, spacious for six people, including our four teenage boys who each found himself a nook or space to chill and to play on their video games. Thank goodness for Wi-Fi, as it kept everyone happy when we weren’t beachcombing or out and about.
The closest beach is down the steep drive in Anchor Bay Village, where the campground was but we never made it there. Instead, we spent our week at Cooks Beach, at Glennen Gulch about 1.6 miles away, Gualala Point Regional Park with a bluff trail that leads to the Whale Watch Point, Walk On Beach and Hearn Gulch Beach. The coves afforded spectacular views of the ocean and we were thrilled to catch sight of sea lions at the Gualala Point.
Gualala Supermarket supplied almost all our week's grocery. There's a nice Mexican eatery where we had lunch one day. The Thai Kitchen in Anchor Bay Village is well worth a visit, we had a wonderful dining experience on our wedding anniversary.
We had a great stay thanks to the location of this beautiful home.
Cute cabin near the beach, it was like Tahoe meets the ocean. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck and visiting different beaches in the area.
Big home, close to the beaches but up in the forest. Great area to explore and enjoy the beauty.
Not perfect, but great for us ❤
