With a view of the ocean and across the street from the public beach it was fantastic. They have umbrella's and boogie boards and a cart to make it even easier! It's a great set up.
Our extended family of 10 stayed at Hale Moran for 2 weeks for a long awaited dream vacation. The house was clean, spacious and conveniently located. It was a 2 minute walk across the street to the beach and 5 minutes from town.
We had room for everyone. The house was tastefully decorated in a comfortable style. With so many people, having 2 washers and 2 dryers was a big plus. No AC, but plenty of fans to stay cool. The stairs to the lower level were steep and slippery at times, but there was a sturdy gate at the top so we were able to keep the toddler safe. The property managers were quick to respond to questions and minor problems.
This was our 3rd trip to Hanalei. We were looking for a house that could comfortably fit our family of six. This house was perfect with two separate living spaces with a game room with table tennis. The house was well equipped with WiFi, Apple TV, nice bedding and lots of beach gear. It very close to beach access and easy walk into town. They recently expanded the lanai made a huge difference. Although it is across Weke rd, this house still has great views of Hanalei bay, mountains and waterfalls. We saw multiple rainbows from our deck during our stay. The house did not have air conditioning but all the rooms have ceiling fans and extra floor fans just in case. We were comfortable the whole time and if we got hot we just went for a swim in beautiful, calm Hanalei Bay. We had a magical time at Hale Moran and look forward to returning.
This rental house worked well for us. Two adults and 7 kids (10-21) enjoyed the boogie boards and other beach equipment. Ping pong helped pass the time because we had a very wet week. Super convenient to walk to the beach or Tahiti Nui for a luau! Home was clean and well-equipped. The outdoor patio furniture seemed quite new which was a pleasant surprise! Only negative is that I wish homes that sleep a large group also provided a table and chairs to match. The table sat 7.
Great. I hosted our family, 9 strong. they loved the house which worked like a charm.
love it herre! I'd recommend a few small changes - replacing master bedrooms mattress, making sure the middle washer machine works, hot water to outdoor shower, And curtains for bedrooms.
Our family of 6 adults and 5 children enjoyed our stay at Hale Moran. I don't think there was a way it could have been better. We took advantage of their shopping service and had groceries waiting for us when we arrive at 7:00 pm on New Years Day. The location was fantastic, a short walk to the incredible Hanalei Beach park. Our grandchildren had a joyous time on the beach with all of the boogie boards, beach toys, chairs, etc. We spent an afternoon at the beautiful Haena Beach and also Annini Beach. Kids fished off the Hanalei Pier. A short walk to town for take-out food and souvenir shopping was also great. Hope to return in the not too distant future.
Pros: The home's location makes for a great view from the front-facing terrace (until construction begins across the street) and for a very easy walk to the sand. Appreciated the comfortable and relatively new furniture, minimal clutter, and thoughtful provision of laundry facilities, all imaginable recreational toys, and kitchen necessities. Cons: the terrace is quite narrow and you will get damp in the (frequent) rain; the home could use a sprucing and deep cleaning (stained sinks, mildewed tile, musty-smelling linens, peeling paint); and the bedrooms had full-size not queen-size beds.
Our extended family spent a terrific week here in Aug. 2017. We had 11 family members which included 3 children. The house location was perfect. We walked across to the beach and a few blocks to town! The garage was filled with bogey boards, chairs, snorkel gear and beach toys! Couldn't have asked for more. Great ocean view too! Mahalo!
We had an amazing family reunion at Hale Moran. The house was clean and well equipped. The location is amazing!! It does get warm in the late afternoon, but nothing a dip in the ocean can't fix!! We loved the house and didn't want to leave it or Hanalei!!
Great Location right across street from bay with view directly of bay and great access to beach very close. Wonderfully remodeled very nicely, well furnished, kitchen was great, grill was great, and all the beach stuff (beach chairs, kids beach toys, was great). I would definitely recommend to others. No A/C so hot in afternoon but that is to be expected - fabulous place - it is all that that they advertise. And nobody paid me for this comment!
Stayed with children (50ish) and teenage grandsons. All of us enjoyed our stay. Only issue was the safety of the steps from first floor to lower 2 bedrooms. Steep
We had a great trip to Kauai and a great stay at Hale Moran in Hanalei. The house was in great shape (clean and very well equipped) and location could not be better. We had a party of 11 and everyone fit well. Grill and kitchen were perfect. It is a very hot summer in Kauai so be prepared for that - the staff brought over extra fans and if you avoid the house during afternoon hours it works well. Very comfortable temps for sleeping with great breeze from back and sides of house. We last stayed in this house in 1995 - fabulous redecorating and updating since then.
This home is in a great spot, across the street from the most beautiful bay and walking distance to the cute town of Hanalei. We could see several waterfalls from the living room windows, especially after rainfall. Spectacular! We were a family of 8 and everyone had plenty of space and comfort for our week long stay. We stayed busy with all of our activities across the island but still enjoyed the location of this home. We enjoyed the ping pong table and the extra living area for the kids, especially. We are A.C. spoiled Texans so afternoons could be a little warm for us in the house but we were usually busy exploring or out on the porch so it did not spoil our trip at all. We walked to dinner and enjoyed the quaint town of Hanalei so much. It is close to the "end of the road" where the hike and some more beautiful beaches are. We really liked how all of the beach supplies were provided, wagon, chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas, etc. So conveniently located on the ground floor and next to the water hose and laundry area. We had a wonderful stay at Hale Moran. We hope to return someday!
The home was perfect for what we needed. There was ample room for 3 couples upstairs and the downstairs was perfect for our teenagers and young adults. The home was well appointed and the beach gear was very useful.
Our group of 7 adults has stayed in many vacation rentals in Hanalei, and this is one of our very favorites. The location provides superb beach access. It's attractive, with quality fixtures and furnishings. The owners really keep it up--we saw even more improvements like new flooring and couch the second time we rented it. The beach supplies were great--even a cart to get all the chairs and boogie boards across the street to the beach! What's not quite ideal? The deck isn't big enough for over four people to sprawl around the table, and the upstairs living room is also narrow and smallish. Four of the bedrooms are great; the one on the ground floor isn't quite as lovely as those upstairs, but has the advantage of being a bit cooler and providing lots of privacy. The fifth bedroom downstairs with the bunks would be great for kids, not as great for an adult, but we used it for the occasional need to get away from a snoring partner. :) We hope to rent Hale Moran for a third time next year!
Loved the house, the location, and the service.
Our family of eight spent five nights at Hale Moran, and we were very pleased with everything. My older daughter, husband and two kids (2 and 5 years old) had the downstairs, which consisted of two bedrooms and a family room as well as laundry room. It was perfect for them, and gave the other adults some space upstairs without kid stuff! It was great that there were plenty of beach toys and chairs as well as a nice big wagon to carry everything across the street to the beach. The whole house was very attractive and clean. The management was immediately responsive to any questions we had. The beach and town of Hanalei were wonderful. We would definitely stay there again!
We had a group of friends staying here for a week for a wedding. We could not have asked for a better home. The location is superb--right across from the Beach Pavilion--and the home is super comfortable. We would happily stay here again in a heartbeat.
We spent 10 days on Kauai and rented this house based on its location. We've been to Kauai before and love Hanalei and wanted to be close to the beach. This house did not disappoint. Super convenient within steps to Hanalei Bay. The house easily slept 13 of us (two kids on couches) and had all the amenities we needed. We were excited to find plenty of beach toys like boogie boards and snorkel sets. We would definitely rent this house again.
Great home! This home has everything. All you could want for a beach rental. Property management company is very professional. Highly recommend.
Hale Moran was a great place to stay! The concierge service offered along with this rental was very helpful in providing information on activities and even helped to coordinate a paddle board rental for the week. The location couldn't have been more perfect and the views from the deck were legendary. Thanks for a great time!!
It was a perfect place for a family reunion of 11 people, nice layout, large kitchen for a big group, loved looking out at the ocean from the dinning room. Great to walk to beach.
We have rented homes many times on the North Shore--this was easily the best. It is very good for families. Upstairs are three bedrooms, 2 baths and a very nice living area with TV. Downstairs are two more bedrooms, one with bunk beds, a second TV (with Apple TV) and a ping-pong table, and the garage, which serves as the utility room. All was spotless, and in excellent condition. The house is unusually well-equipped, with great beach equipment. The kitchen, too, had every possible thing you could ever need, even a Rabbit wine opener and vacuum cork! Best of all is the location. It is right on Weke Rd., kiddy-corner from Hanalei Pavilion, so, basically, you can walk across the street to Hanalei Bay beach. I was worried that the traffic on Weke Rd. would be annoying, but this was not the case. Directly across the street is an empty lot, so this means that you can sit on your lanai, and look directly at the ocean. An oceanfront view, without oceanfront prices. It is only a short walk to the shops and store of Hanalei town. All in all, this was the perfect rental, and we would gladly stay here again.
This house was perfect for our needs! The house was in great condition and the location cannot be beat. We would absolutely stay here again.
This house is as good as you can get without being actual beachfront. It comfortably accommodated 11 in our party. It has a beautiful view of Hanalei Bay and is directly across from the beach pavilion - just steps from the beach. The children enjoyed the downstairs playroom, ping pong table and big screen TV while the adults sipped a Mai Tai or the equivalent on the porch. Our only criticism was that the house got very warm in the afternoon but it was July in Kauai and to be expected. There is no air conditioning.
The location of the home was just as described. We had views of the mountains and ocean. Rainbows and waterfalls can be seen on a regular basis. It was a short walk in to town and to the Saturday Market (bring bags). We had five children ranging from 4 to 13 and were able to keep them entertained. We loved the Smith's Luau (would recommend going early because there is so much to see), Safari Helicopter is a great way to view all of the beautiful waterfalls, Lydgate State Park has a wonderful playground for the children, Tunnels Beach is a great place to snorkel, and we found secluded beaches to do paddle boarding, surfing and calm swimming for the younger children. I would recommend going to Kilauea lighthouse - very interesting. Grocery stores located in Hanalei Bay and a larger one in Princeville. We were able to watch the canoe races in Hanalei Bay - right across from the home. We took the children to Kilohana Plantation for a train ride - they had so much fun feeding the animals - they also have a great ice cream parlor there. We enjoyed several restaurants - Hanalei Gourmet - great fish tacos, Tahiti Nui - great pizza and we went to Dukes in Lihue (beautiful views and great salad bar)before we left. The town of Hanalei is very quaint - from the one lane bridge coming into town to the restaurants, local activities and friendly people. We would recommend coming again and staying at the same home.
We just returned from Hale Moran…it was wonderful in every way! The location was excellent, just across from the beach and a short walk to town. The house was spotless, well stocked and had an ocean view!! Who could ask for more? We were a group of 4 couples and we each decided this was a great house for a group or family. I hate to say too much, because we hope to rent it again! Mahalo!
The home and location were amazing - extremely convenient to the beach and to town and a great setting. Only draw back for me was the gas infrared grill- it should have been a regular gas grill as it took forever to cook on. But that's only real complaint!
Hale Moran was excellent. We had 6 adults and 5 kids with us, there was plenty of room between the five bedrooms, and it was a great layout for a relaxed vacation, with the kids downstairs, the adult bedrooms in the back and public areas up front with views of the beach and mountains. We loved the location - right across the street from beach access with great boogie boarding and beginner surfing, a 5 minute walk to town, and a quick drive to all of the amazing beaches and hiking the north coast has to offer. This was one of our top ten lifetime vacations.
Hale Moran proved a comfortable home for our 8 guests over Christmas week. The 5 bedrooms were comfortable. The WiFi and television with Cable worked well. The location right next to Hanalei Beach was great (but bustling). If you are looking for a quiet retreat with no traffic you'll need to be away from the beach. We walked into town every day which was great (less than 10 minute walk). The beach chairs, towels, boogie boards, etc. were all great. We used the washer/dryer which was very convenient. The only (slight) complaint would be that the bathrooms (especially the Master bath) and the kitchen are dated and could use a remodel, so if you are looking for St. Regis quality, well, stay at the St. Regis.
The view from the lanai was beautiful. The house was very clean with plenty of linens and towels. The kitchen and refrigerator were plenty big for a large group. Would like to see the outdoor shower improved. Would definitely rent the house again and recommend it to friends.
We were a party of 6 beach lovers. This was an excellent place for us to stay. A few steps to the beach and a beautiful view from the lanai. The property description was accurate regarding the location, layout and amenities. The property was clean and well maintained. We were provided good customer service. I would recommend Hale Moran for sure.
Hale Moran is a lovely property, a wonderful location a few steps to the beach and close to the village. Beautiful views. 6 of us were very comfortable in the 5 bedroom home.
This house had everything we needed to have a great time. The view of the bay and the few steps from the beach were best of all.
The home is very close to the beach access which is great, but there is a lot of noise throughout the day with people parking near the house and walking to the beach. The kitchen leaves a lot to be desired. It is not functional and is not well stocked. The house was very clean.
The perfect location for walking to the beach, walking into town, or just relaxing on the lanai taking in a million dollar view.
For a large group like ours, this was a very good choice. The location was great close to the beach and town. The house was good, clean and fairly well stocked kitchen, lots of towels etc. The downstairs rooms and laundry area were a little dated a felt cold, but the bunk beds worked well for the kids. The beach amenities were well used. Overall the house was good for us, it was more about the location and less about the house itself.
Very nice, comfortable and convenient location.
Awesome time with a group of friends. Easy to get to Hanalei and easy to hangout, cook, and good for kids
