For a peaceful, relaxing, nature-filled escape, this cozy Central Oregon Coast vacation rental is a perfect place to enjoy a quiet trip away from everyday life.
This was a very clean, well furnished place to stay. It was exactly as described. It was located on the river off a winding road that put it off-the-grid, which was perfect for us. Even though we were in the middle of nowhere, we had a great internet connection for our computers.
There was a lot of attention to detail, and things that were missing at other cabins were present and in good condition in this cabin.
The bathroom, though small, had a lot of space to put toiletries and to hang towels (which were well-stocked) There were plenty of blankets and pillows, and the heat worked great!
The kitchen was also well stocked with plates/pans/etc.
The outdoor firepit was clean and ready for use.
I cannot recommend this cabin highly enough.
My husband and I look forward to staying there again...
thank you for a wonderful experience!
Beautiful mountains, lush green trees and ferns, gorgeous river, and quaint, cozy cabin tucked away in the middle of all this splendid scenery. It was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Lovely, lovey place.
All the comforts of home, without the stress and hussle and bussle of everyday life. I can't wait to come back and stay here again. I absolutely LOVE IT!!!
If you're looking for a solo or couple getaway that is quiet and away from it all, this is a good choice. Well-stocked kitchen, super clean, very comfortable, beautiful setting.
Loved the quiet and very dark nights. Waldport as charming as it is wasn’t over flowing with people.
Cons: They weren't kidding when they disclosed this is a tight squeeze on the road, it can be a challenge at night if you don't know what to expect. Would have LOVED access to a kayak to use on the beautiful water. Water pressure in the shower isn't great.
Pros: Home was very clean, comfy bed, quiet location, beautiful view, kitchen has everything you will need, close to town but far enough to feel "away." For a couple wanting to get away and enjoy our kid-free weekend it was absolutely wonderful.
We have looked into the water pressure and appreciate our guest for sharing their thoughts about their time with us.
My wife and I weren't interested in the fishing part of the rental, we wanted rest and relaxation. This cabin filled the bill 100%, quiet and close enough to restaurants an all else to make for a thouroughly enjoyable time.
Clean, well appointed, comfortable bed and couch. Plenty of extra pillows, blankets, towels and washcloths. Nice kitchen, stocked with the necessities. And everything looked as good as the picture s. No cell phone service in that location, if that bothers you. They do have Wi-Fi.
I don't have much time to write a review but everything about it was great the view it was clean amenities and the neighbor awesome
I went to the cabin for the weekend to write, and I got so much done. It was peaceful and quiet, and the back deck and dock area, right on the river, were ideal for relaxing. I'll definitely be back.
A piece of nature’s heaven ❤️
Perfect cross between being in the wilderness with having all the comforts that we are used Went kayaking from the dock. The water was so nice!
This place was beautiful and tranquil and the cutest little cabin. Perfect getaway beautiful surroundings. Fully stocked kitchen and very comfy bed with plenty of bedding. Would definitely go back again!
Loved it all! Decor is great, love all the wood & bedroom so comfy. Full on kitchen with everything you can think of, fabulous!
Both the Alsea and Drift Creek are awesome!
This place was paradise for our anniversary get away. It was beautiful and quiet. The only issue was all the ants in the kitchen not just a few bit 100’s of them
We want to thank the guests for choosing us to spend a wonderful and memorable anniversary. We apologize for the ants during their stay. I completely understand their frustration with trying to prevent their access to food and the constant attention with cleaning. Between us and the owners, the ants are not in the home any longer and there have no visible signs of their return. Thank you.
This was an anniversary vacation this cabin was like a price of heaven we could not have been more pleased with our stay
It was a wonderful place to spend Some of our vacation the river and Woods were beautiful. all the fall colors with the trees changing colors reds greens yellows burnt orange just spectacular really worth going there in the fall will definitely return to this great little cabin !
Great place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Everything was clean and very comfortable furniture and bed! Great view of the Alsea and very relaxing.
I rented tois cabin to bring my family together for a relaxing weekend of fun... This home is in the perfect setting for this. We built a nice fire out back and roasted marshmellows at night and fished off the dock during the day. One afternoon we ventured to the Newport aquarium with the grandkids, what a great time this was. It was a wonderful time spent with family. This home has all you will need, all you will need to bring is food and family to make memories to last a life time. Enjoy and happy travels.... Del
House was very lovely. Lovely setting. Right on river where we watched the fish jump out of the water. The wood stove really heated up the house quickly. There was no hot water for showers and no way to contact the maintenance people from the house. That needs to be addressed. Seems the hot water heater issue is a common problem. I was not given any compensation for having to take a freezing cold shower.
We apologize for the inconveniences this guest experienced. The property manager was able to restore the hot water within an hour of the problem being reported. Cell service is spotty at the house, but there is a home phone so guests can reach Vacasa if they are in need of assistance.
Nice quite cabin. Small but comfortable.
Great king size bed. Living room needs some floor repairs. Very accommodating
Very beautiful cabin. Has got everything you need. Fully equiped. Beautifully situated at the river with a very nice area. The only thing that could bother you is the street on the other side of the river. But for us it was not a problem after all.
My husband and I stayed here over the weekend. It was so nice to be away from all the commotion and traffic and to be able to have access to a kitchen! We felt safe and at home here. The house has a nice veiw of the river and the neighbors are so nice and friendly. I would definitely recommend this vacation home!
Great place, the only thing is the traffic sound. Would defiantly stay again!!!!
Great house. Inside was well maintained, and very comfortible. Great view of the river, with easy access. Had all the dishes we needed with easy access to everything. Will come again.
This is a great place too get away. You are out far enough to feel like no one is going to bother you, but close to the beach, shopping and the best restaurants on this part of the coast. The house itself is awesome on the inside, beautiful job on the remodel.
We loved everything about the cabin itself. The river is beautiful. However, access to the cabin on the one-lane, winding road with many blind curves was enough to make us cancel a planned activity so that we wouldn't have to drive it more two more times. The cabin and property, though, were perfect.
This cabin is a nice little place at the end of two long and windy country roads. The area has many cabins and river homes so it's not secluded. It's very quiet, though. The highway is across the river but not heavily traveled. You have your own little dock from which to fish - fully equipped with a cleaning area, etc. There is an outdoor fire pit and tree swing (watch for pine sap/pitch before you sit on it!) and the surrounding area is very tidy and well kept. The interior is partially upgraded with a nice wood ceiling, new appliances in a well stocked kitchen, an outdoor gas grill, a bidet (of all things!) in the bathroom, a new insert shower, and a huge, comfy king bed. Down sides are there is still old carpeting in areas, including the kitchen and bathroom and the TVs are old tube style. The WIFI works great but there was no cellular service so no phone calls or texts. There is a landline, but for local calls only and I couldn't even reach the local contact person unless I emailed or drove to town to call. There were also numerous phone calls on the landline from telemarketers/debt collectors looking for various people. I only answered because I gave the number to my husband in case he needed to reach me. There are no local stores, the nearest is about 6 miles away.
It was a nice, quiet place off the beaten path which overall, was pretty enjoyable.
Great place not very good fishing 1 trout over 3 days and all mud dubbers
We loved the place and hopefully will come back. The beautiful view of the river and surrounding greenery was so lovely. The house was very clean and tastefully furnished. We were just far enough from Hwy 101 to be able to forget about all the tourists rushing from one spot to the other, yet close enough to drive in to Waldport for a couple of things. Our little dog enjoyed wandering around in the fenced yard. All in all, it was a relaxing, great holiday in a very nice, well maintained cottage.
We were too early for any fish runs but enjoyed kicking back here on the river. If I can schedule when the salmon are running in the fall, I'll be back.
There is no cell service so be sure your print out all of your check in information. I had to drive back to town to get cell service to get the key code.
There is wifi Internet service in the cabin so we were able to text / email family but the speed is very slow, don't count on streaming anything. Your here on vacation, right - get out n do something :-)
The road in is very narrow and limited places to turn around a truck with a trailer if you were hauling a boat.
My wife and I and our dog spent a few days at the cabin and had a fantastic time. Didn't get around to fishing but there was obviously plenty of fish out biting at dawn and dusk. The fire pit was fantastic, the location serene, we had easy access to everything from Newport to Yachats and hiked every bit of it. Waldport seems a little less...festive than the surrounding towns but the residents are very nice just not as into the holiday as I expected.
Very nice, quiet, restful spot. A+
I would book this place again in a heartbeat. Location is very remote and quiet (almost too quiet!) One-lane roads to get there was a little hairy, but just made it more of an adventure. Local wildlife were wonderful - got up close to a deer. The cabin is so fun and rustic (with the surprise exception of a bidet in the otherwise very rustic bathroom). Wood paneling is beautiful. Such a pleasure to spend a few days here. Bed was super comfy. Only bothersome thing is no comfortable place to sit in the living room. Couch is sad and recliner is terribly lopsided and needs to be replaced (not the same furniture as in the photos). However, we spent a lot of time outside and had a fantastic experience. I will return!!
a classic fishing cabin on the river. I would stay there forever.
This is a partially remodeled FISHING cabin. Very relaxing in the woods on the river experience. It does have a wood fireplace, but you need to bring your own wood. The kitchen is adequately supplied for 2 people if you run the dishwasher every day. The fenced yard is a real plus for your dog. There is no dryer to dry wet clothes, nor is there a room inside to hang them. Definitely a quite place to enjoy the peaceful river and outdoors, and of course fish!
The cabin was bigger than anticipated and very nice. We did not come for 2 weeks for the cabin, we came for the fishing, and it sucked.
10 days on the river, with professional guides as well as on our kayaks and from the private dock produced zero fish, and not a single bite.
It was so bad that we packed up and left with two days left on our pre-paid rental. If you just want to watch rush hour boat traffic on the river from daylight to dark, this is the place.
We are sorry to hear that your fishing trip was a bust and hope that you were comfortable in this cabin while you were there!
Because of the drought, the salmon were not running up the river yet, so that was disappointing. However, the setting is so beautiful that sitting on the dock and enjoying the scenery and wildlife was wonderful. We will catch that salmon next time as we intended to come back to this property many times in the future.
We really enjoyed staying at this home. With the house at the end of a private road and within the Suislaw National Forest, it's both quiet and scenic. (Note: you do hear some highway noise because it also runs along the river.) It is so close to the Alsea River that you can literally see the river while in the kitchen or living room. We saw fish jumping out of the water to feed on insects late in the day, blue heron fly by, boaters, and what we think was a juvenile harbor seal!
You are only about 8 miles from Waldport, so it's a quick drive to town or to the beautiful sandy beaches. We liked the contrast between the ocean, which was foggy by most afternoons, and the sunshine inland at the cabin. It felt like we had the best of both worlds. Seal Rock is just a bit north of Waldport and cool to see. Cape Perpetua and Devil's Churn, which are just south of Yachats, are beautiful as well.
We rented DVDs from Waldport Video. Chuck, the owner, is very sweet and helpful. Highly recommended. We also enjoyed the farmers market on Wednesday morning.
The only caution I will add is for those of you (like me) who are a bit addicted to technology, the home does have wifi but it's slow. It's adequate for email but very slow for web browsing, inadequate for streaming, and there was no cell service via Verizon. The home does have local phone service so no worries about emergencies. It's good to unplug from time to time anyway!
Overall, we loved it!
It was great being able to bring our two pups and not have to worry about them while we were gone. The bed was huge and comfy and it looked like the kitchen had been remodeled somewhat recently. We fished nearly the entire time we were there.. It's nice being able to see the water from the windows; we'd see a few fish jump and grab our poles and run down! Did notice ants periodically in the kitchen but we'd just wipe them away.
Sounds like you had a fantastic time and were able to take advantage of some great fishing. The Central Coast has so much to offer, and this terrific home is the perfect landing place after a day of exploring. The hot, dry conditions have made this summer particularly bad for ants, and we will be sure to contact the property manager to have this issue addressed. We hope to see you again soon!
Being right on the river with a dock to sit on in the sun was so relaxing. And being at the end of the road meant no traffic on our side of the river though you could hear it from the highway. Having a fenced yard for the dog was a convenience. The place suited us perfectly.
This property is Ina National Forrest and it feels that way. Waldpirt is cute and close. Beachcomber days is fun for the whole family. If you spend most of your vacation outdoors this is the spot for you. If you want to lay around the house - go somewhere else.
This is a beautiful spot on the Alsea River that you do not want to miss. The completely furnished cabin has all the modern conveyances you need and just about everything, you could want in a vacation rental. The river view is fantastic and during the season, the fishing could not be better. All that and less that fifteen minutes from Waldport on the Oregon coast.
Reading it was a ''fishing cabin,' 'we (husband and I), took our chance, as we do not fish.. hope to in our retirement! Loved the cabin, and the waterfront though! The cabin has been very nicely upgraded, and was VERY comfortable and quiet. It was at the end of the road, so no noises at all, very private! We did take our lab mix, and the fenced yard was great!! He also loved the cozy cabin, and the jog to the hwy.. just perfect! Thanks for allowing a dog, he is part of our ''family!'' We will be back, price is reasonable too! Place was bigger than expected~ Kitchen, bedroom and bathroom felt like a cozy house! Living room was comfortable too, complete with a wood stove..
