Recently booked your "Soaring Vista Cabin" IN Pigeon Forge TN on July 24th and 25th 2019. The cabin was very nice and the views were absolutely beautiful. However, some of the amenities were less than satisfactory. Some of our complaints are as follows. 1. We were not able to use the hot tub that was advertised due to the fact that it had a foul smell when the lid was lifted and the water seemed to have a greenish tint. 2. When my girlfriend attempted to use the whirlpool tub in the master bedroom she encounter lots of disgusting black flakes in the tub when the jets were turned on as if it had not been getting proper cleaning. Fortunately my girlfriend turned the jets on before getting into the tub. After 3 attempts at refilling the tub and getting black every time we gave up on the whirlpool. 3. The cookware in the kitchen was very worn and dirty looking. Lots of stains and Teflon pans with peeling Teflon coating. 4. Rotten wood and a hole on one of the decks that made me very nervous to have the children go out on that deck. Afraid in one of them might fall through. I ended up putting a table over that location so that none of our party would accidentally step on that spot. To summarize, I will not attempt to book this cabin again for these reasons or recommend it to others which is very unfortunate since the cabin was well situated and had a fantastic view. I gave an overall rating of one star due to these 4 reasons that I have mentioned above. I feel I should receive some kind of compensation for the frustration and inconvenience since in good faith I spent over $600 to stay in a place that did not meet the expectations of me and my family as advertised. Thank you for your consideration.

We are sorry to hear about the issues you experienced during your stay. Our local staff has been made aware of this to make sure it gets taken care for our future guests. We do have a 24/7 guest services team that are always able to assist our guests. If we would have known about these issues during your stay we would have gladly fixed them for you. Our local staff has not noticed any holes in the decking, but they are going back over to double check and make sure this is not the case. We took a family vacation with my grown kids and grand kids and stayed at the Soaring Vista Cabin. The bed my husband I slept in, was comfortable. There were a total of 13 of us and the cabin was big enough that we did not feel like we were on top of each other and the kids really enjoyed the game room. There were plenty of things to keep everyone occupied. The location was great and the view was AMAZING!! We will definitely stay here again.

House was cozy and great! The dishwasher was hard to get started but eventually we were able to get it going. One of the beds supports had moved so the bed was slanted. Those were the negatives but other than that everything else was great!

I loved the view out of the living room windows and out on the deck. The theater room was fun. It was a nice place, but some items needed some care. Parking is adequate for 3 cars, we really had to squeeze in #4.

Positives: This cabin was lovely and the spaces were as promised. The furniture and level of finish is as pictured. The views are amazing and the location is great - its a quick drive to a grocery store or to hiking but removed from the bustle of the busy areas of Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. I was also not in an area directly affected by the 2016 fires, the full vegetation was nice. We loved the location. We were traveling with two families, three kids and 4 adults and found that we were able to occupy all areas of the house without feeling cramped, everyone had their own space and each space was nice. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything from a bread maker to a blender with all necessary cutlery etc. All the rooms had TVs with direct TV and WiFi was available throughout. It was great to sit out on the deck and look at the beautiful Smoky Mountains and valley beyond. We even heard a few bears down below while drinking coffee on the deck.

Why its not five stars: It could have been cleaner. The towels and bedding were all clean and generally it was all in order but the bathrooms/floors/counters could have been cleaner. I think that this is likely due to it being so large it is difficult for a cleaner to cover all the areas if there are back to back renters. It wasn't awful but it could have been better.
There were a few maintenance items that should be addressed by the owners including lack of batteries in smoke detectors and expired fire extinguishers and a couple odds and ends. The Keurig wasn't working for us either but there was a back up coffee maker so that was sufficient.

All and all though it was a beautiful place, very comfortable and relaxing to stay in with every amenity you don't even know you would want. I would stay here again and I would recommend it to friends.
Manager response:
We apologize for the cleanliness issues. We have started assigning specific housekeepers to specific homes to improve the cleaning quality. Thanks!

This would be a perfect house for multiple families. We got moved to this house after our previous rental had issues - so there were only 3 of us - the house felt soooo huge! I'm so in love with it thought, I'm already dreaming of coming back with a couple of other families! Pluses: big beds, hot tub, view/deck, well equipped kitchen (well aside for a missing can opener!), game room with foosball and arcade machine, a 6 seat theater room! The location is superb (right between Pigeon Forge and Townsend) - easy to get to/find, great parking situation, yet relatively quiet. Watching the fireworks from on the deck while in the hottub was amazing!!

Suggestions: the foosball table in the game room is pretty beaten up, the odd small maintenance issue here and there. Beds weren't terribly comfortable, but weren't horrible either.

Bottom line - a great stay, highly recommended! vacasa has supreme customer support as well!
