Great service and the home was very clean.
Would stay again.
Loved how well we lived in this small living space. So nicely furnished. and decorated with tall ceilings and large windows.
Very close to all the action In Durango , all within walking distance. Solid sleep, and then off to Purgatory ski resort 20 minutes away. Management very responsive. Historical building. We cook and appreciate the good kit. Two thumbs up.
Location and charm! Plus the details were spot on with scented soap and lotions. Crazy comfy bed and great view!
Great location, comfy bed, updated and beautiful! Loved the blackout curtains for sleeping in! Everything you need to be super comfortable is here!
The condo itself was comfortable and just as advertised, and had just about everything we needed including good pots/pans, knives, and silverware and modern high-end but small appliances (though note to owner-- please put some oven mitts in the kitchen!).
However, just as advertised the condo is in the heart of historic downtown-- which means you can walk out the door and be right on main street where restaurants, galleries, shops, and bars await. You're a short walk to the rail station, and really a short walk to just about anything-- which is fantastic. However, the downside is that you are right downtown in the center of everything, and right across the street from a bar that doesn't hold back on the base, and doesn't close until about 2AM. And, your parking spot is right near that bar, so keep that in mind. If you want to join the party until 2AM-- this condo is just perfect. If not-- then you might not be happy about the noise-- which was too loud on halloween night, but not too bad on Friday night.
Checking in and out was smooth, and communication with Vacasa was flawless.
Just know what you're getting into, and if you're up for it, this condo won't disappoint.
Lovely designer touches throughout made this a welcoming stay. Perfect for visiting the town and very convenient to the grocery store just on the corner and SO many great restaurants that it was hard to choose. We will be back!
We loved staying in this Jarvis condo.
Loved the location near everything we wanted to do. We got there the day after the fire broke out so we didn't get to take the train which was the main reason for coming. We still had a great time. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
We loved our 4 nights here, and we'll definitely sign up again next time we're in Durango. The apt is filled with natural light all day, and it feels bigger and more airy than its square footage would suggest because of the loft, where the bedroom and full bath are. Yay for the ceiling fan up there. Want a meal? Coffee? Cocktail? Brewery? Mementos? Apothecary? All an easy stroll away. Park and leave your car in the provided space until it's time to head to Telluride or Ouray or Silverton or Purgatory. The TV was more complicated than a TV should be, and the bar across the street can become noticeable if the windows are open at night, but not a big deal. Stay here and you'll be happy in Durango.
We absolutely loved our stay in the Jarvis building condo! Firstly, the location could not be more ideal. The condo is right on Main in Durango's old downtown, and is a short walk to any and all of its restaurants, bars, and shops. The City Market grocery store is just behind the condo, so stocking up on food and drinks is easy too. There's absolutely no reason to drive anywhere, unless you're going out of town. We come to Durango often, and have stayed in many home rentals, and I have to say the quality of this unit is the highest I've seen. The decor is excellent (stone counters, high-end soaps, new applicances, etc...and we loved the shiplast accent walls), the furnishings are very high quality and comfortable, and even the pots and pans are a "own home" grade (Calphalon). The upstairs bathroom and shower were really nice -- marble and tile -- and the show boasted great water pressure, and plenty of hot water. The two story layout really works well -- the upstairs is quiet and private, while the downstairs area can also convert to a sleeping area (fold out sofa). Because of the layout, the condo looks, feels, and "lives" much larger than the raw square footage might indicate. Overall, we really felt like we were in our own home. If staying anywhere in town, note that Durango is reasonably lively. Of course it's not "New York City" level of lively, but it's an active area. If the windows are open, you're going to hear some light noise -- cars, people on the street, etc. The Jarvis building is also next to the tracks for the Silverton train. Prior to arrival I was slightly concerned that the train's horn might be loud, as I previously had a poor experience with that while staying at the Strater Hotel. But as it turned out, there was no issue. The train does pass through and blow its horn, but it was always at a reasonable hour during the day. With the windows closed, all of this is hardly audible (if at all) and is certainly nothing that would disturb your sleep. I only mention any of this to say that if you're wanting mountain solitude levels of quiet, you're better off staying somewhere out of town. (Or if you're worried about noise from the train, don't be worried.) Administratively, our stay could not have been easier or smoother. We received access instructions well in advance of our trip, and everything worked perfectly. All things considered, this was a perfect stay and I highly recommend this unit!
Lovely accommodation. Very clean and comfortable. You are right on main street which is super convenient, but it can be a little loud at night as it's right across from a popular bar.
If you are looking for a clean, comfortable and relaxing place to come home to after a day of hiking and exploring all that Durango has to offer, this is your place. The fact that it is right downtown within steps of great restaurants and stores is a huge bonus. We love the old building that it is in as well. Your own parking spot is a huge bonus. We will definitely be back.
Everyone was very easy to work with. They were helpful and knowledgeable. Thanks to the staff for being so nice. The apartment was lovely and perfect for the two of us. We enjoyed breakfast each morning using the kitchen and it was very well stocked.
We had a wonderful time in Durango! The condo was absolutely perfect for us in every way. Everything we needed was furnished, and the location was just amazing. We definitely plan on making reservations there again....but we want a longer stay next time!
A beautiful apartment which made for a wonderful stay. Very nice living area, well stocked kitchen and comfortable king size bed. We really enjoyed our visit.
We loved our stay at the Jarvis Condo! The location was perfect , within walking distance to many restaurants and shops as well as the Animas River trail. The space was wonderful. The living room was comfy for downtime in the evenings. There was a full kitchen if needed - we ate out most meals. The bedroom and upstairs bathroom space worked perfectly for us. We loved Durango and will definitely be back!
Ideal location in this loft rental. Everything in this condo has been updated and done with great taste. Bed is super comfy and bath towels are a wonderful upgrade from your basic rental. Would definitely come back.
Excellent….responses to any questions were rapidly provided. We would not only stay again, we’ve passed it on to two people also interested in visiting Durango.
Wonderful stay….only too short!
The property was fantastic, loved the location and the small courtyard we could put our mountain bikes in securely. The AC not working was a bummer and that is something we will check out prior to getting settled the next time we stay anywhere.
If you're looking to be in the mix of downtown you really can't beat this location. Walking to restaurants and the grocery store. There is a small enclosed patio we could lock our mtn bikes up which was great. The bed is extremely comfortable in the loft. The unit is very well set up to cook in or just by our morning coffee. If you are coming during the summer, know that the loft, where the bed is, can get very warm. The unit looks to have ac, but it was not working during our stay. Even fans might have helped. We loved the location and was very comfortable with the exception of ac/lack of air movement in the unit
I really enjoyed staying here; downtown Durango was right out the door. The mountains could be seen at the windows inviting me to explore them. Mesa Verde was thirty-five minutes away. That place is incredible. Place had a great kitchen, large loft bedroom. Overall, the place was rustic yet modern. I would highly recommend.
