The grounds were super well maintained, to a fault as there was no firewood provided and we weren't told to bring any. Since the grounds crew was so good at their job there weren't any down branches or sticks left to use in the two firepits, and they don't sell firewood at the Food Lion. The house was super clean, but could use a little work. For instance, the first thing you see when you go up the steps to the "front" door is that half of the stonework at the bottom of the steps leading up to the door is just loose and unfinished. Most of the furniture was older and could stand to be replaced at some point in the near future, but it was all comfortable. The dock has a couple of super soft spots in it, so be careful. As someone who loves to cook, there are no sharp knives (which is pretty standard at a rental spot) the front right burner on the stove barely works (took 20 minutes just to get bacon to start to turn white), and the grill cranked all the way up took 30 minutes to cook t-bone steaks to medium rare. But the paddleboat was GLORIOUS and made up for everything else. We paddled for hours on the little quiet cove. And the lot is huge and fairly private. All in all, it could use a bit of TLC but it was great for what we needed it for: a place to enjoy being outdoors on the water. I would definitely recommend.
Manager response:
We are glad to see you enjoyed paddleboat! The stonework will soon be finished, though the dock and furniture are going to be left as they are at this time. The burner and grill have been taken care of, and the knives have been sharpened. Thank you!

The house was very comfortable and set up perfectly. I would not have to think twice about staying here again, would do it in a heart beat.

Great location in a no wake zone with a very large boat house patio area. Plenty of tie up for 2 boats and two jet skis as well. The house is roomy with a nice deck and landscape fire place. The interior is a little dated but offers plenty of space for all activities.
