Cozy and oceanfront dog-friendly cabin on the beach with views!
Crab Cottage is a dog-friendly, little unassuming cottage right on the beach. Walk in the front door, and you will see gorgeous views out the west windows. To your left are a small but efficient kitchen and dining area. The rest of the downstairs has the bathroom and living room with gas fireplace and a full-size Murphy bed. A narrow fixed ladder with rail takes you upstairs to the loft, where two additional double beds will be found (ladder weight limit 200 lbs).
The backyard has a great deck and a firepit. And of course, miles of beach. This home is perfect for the fisherman, surf kayaker, or beach bum, and is ideal for relaxing. There is a small television with DVD player, so bring your favorite movies or games and relax the night away. This home is all about getting away and spending quality time with friends and family. Parking is limited, with space for a vehicle on the south side of the home, and one in front.

We loved our stay, beautiful ocean views, starry nights, walks on the beach, cozy cottage!

Seriously, it's a dream to be a few steps from the beach and gaze at the surf with every waking moment, but there's a caveat: This charming cabin is one of the last "clam shacks" in Moclips. It was built in a different era, around a 100 years ago, and each addition is funky, homemade and hodgepodge. It's kind of like camping out, but with a roof, windows, and a tiny kitchen. If you visit, bring your own pots and pans, unless you like eating from worn-away teflon and rubbery plastic. That said, we stayed four days and aside from our initial surprise, we loved it and were very pleased with our choice. Of course, we had rare sunshine every day, caught lots of surf perch and dug our limits of razor clams each day. Like I said, if you want location, this is as good as it gets.

Loved my extended weekend on the coast. The beach was beautiful and rainy, and the cottage provided ample comfort. Great for those who like to disconnect now and then.

Perfect size for me and my honey for a weekend getaway. Beach access was awesome!

Dirty, poorly stocked, shack in disrepair on beach view of the ocean.
Thank you for sharing your feedback, Leanne. We apologize if the cleanliness of the cottage left much to be desired, and we will follow-up with our housekeeping team to see that future cleans are completed to our standards, and restock the home of needed supplies. We hope to have another chance to impress you in the future!

My husband and I have stayed at Crab Cottage a number of time. My husband has a probably terminal illness, and can't walk easily. He needs a walker which doesn't work for a beach walk. Sitting both in the living room of this simple cottage, and also on the deck, allowed us to feel almost like we were almost directly on the beach. This is a wonderful place for someone who can pull themselves up a couple stairs to get into the house, but not much more, and who wants to get as close to the beach as possible.

The bathroom and kitchen area, and bedding was clean. That’s all I can say were what made this bearable. The ocean view was pretty. The structure itself should be totally redone or bulldozed. Five different flooring choices ripped and torn. Floor was rotting in several places. Very dirty living areas. Everything was old and rundown. The “TV” is from the 90’s and didn't really work. Outside benches were filthy and moldy. Gas grill was so disgusting as were the cooking utensils. WE LEFT AFTER THE FIRST NIGHT. Worse rental we’ve ever encountered.
Thank you for providing your feedback, Linda. We are disappointed to see that you did not enjoy your stay. Please know that we have performed a deep clean of this home to include the exterior areas, we’ve replaced the grill tools, and have restocked the kitchen with needed items. We will also make sure we’re paying close attention to the issues you raised here to the best of our abilities going forward, so that future guests can experience this wonderful home without any distractions. We hope to have another chance to impress you in the future!

Warm and cozy getaway with a great view of the ocean. The kitchen had everything I needed for making meals, and the layout of the living area was perfect for reading for hours and taking breaks to look out at the ocean. I wish I’d realized the full history of the guest book earlier in the stay so I could have spent more time reading it, as it has entries going back to 1967!

Extremely cozy and rustic. Incredible view. Perfect for a weekend getaway, truly away from everything.

the night the beach was open for clamming was incredible! the sunset was amazing and the clams even stuck their necks out so we could find them. got 2 limits in a short time and after the short walk back to the cottage we cleaned and packaged them.
the cottage had every thing we needed except an extension cord and possibly a small tool kit. we needed a pair of pliers to open a tightly closed valve on one of our pieces of equipment but luckily the neighbors were able to help us out.
as a disabled senior I did appreciate the fact that everything we needed was on the ground floor. accessing the loft was not a possibility for me but we managed nicely between the bed and the couch. we brought our own sheets and blankets for the bed because we have a small dog that MUST sleep with her 'daddy'. we also covered the couch in case she jumped up on it. we have found that most people that take their dogs on vacation are the kind that allow them on the furniture. it's too bad that a place calling itself "pet friendly" has such restrictive rules regarding them.
Otherwise it was a great place to mourn the loss of our oldest daughter and another of our dogs.
We are sorry to hear about your loss and hope you were able to find comfort while staying with us. We hope to see you again!

So very close to the beach. You can sit on the couch and see the surf! Crab Cottage is on the end of a dead end road so it was very quiet. Really appreciate being able to bring our dog. Crab Cottage is eclectic , rustic and basic, yet very comfortable. The deck has a bench around the perimeter but you should bring your own deck chairs.

This is our 2nd time staying at the Crab Cottage, and it did not disappoint. The location, with the mighty Pacific as your back yard, it unbeatable. Yes, its vintage...but take the time to read the guest book that has entries from the 50s when the original owners were building this little cottage. Reading their words, then staying in the cabin they built seems to make the Crab Cottage that much cozier. The kitchen is well stocked with anything you might need to cook with, the bathroom has more than enough clean towels ( and surprisingly great water pressure!), there are games and movies and a great gas fireplace for the winter/spring nights. We also love the geographical location as another reason to stay here. We are not a long drive from the beaches at La Push, Rialto Beach, and both the Hoh and Quinault Rainforests- all of which are great for hiking. The first time we went it was just my husband and I, the 2nd time we took our two teen boys who thought the loft was way cool. The cottage served both purposes (with and without kids) just fine. There is a brand new couch now which is super comfortable. We love The Crab Cottage, and we will definitely go there again!

The location for crab cottage can't be beat! Right on the beach & windows to watch the waves (& sunset). the cabin could use some updating, but that's reflected in the price. It seemed like the things the property management has control over (kitchen, bathroom, sheets, etc) was great, Even a new sponge in the kitchen. We did not use the upstairs - the downstairs seemed nicer & we didn't need the space. The sofa seemed new and the carpets were fine for walking on, there was an area rug over the living room area. We loved being right on the ocean and had a great sunset the first night. The second day was better weather and we walked and found fossils on the beach & flew kites. We were here in April on a "non-clam" tide day and the beach was nearly empty most of the time which was great! We were here with a 3 year old and had a great trip!
