We very much enjoyed the remote cabin feel of this place. It’s roomier than it looks in the pictures and despite the fact that sounds travel we all slept well in the comfy beds in the cool lower level. The wood stove and comfortable furniture were great too. Thanks for a nice weekend!

We just loved the place. It was secluded, roomy, clean and very homey. The WiFi doesn't work, but everything else was perfect.
Manager response:
The internet provider in the area can be hit and miss, but we usually just need to reset the modem. Please do not hesitate to call for assistance during your stay. Thank you!

My husband and I celebrated our one year anniversary here. We loved the upstairs space, spent most of our time there together making hot chocolate, getting the fireplace going (which really warmed us up), eating dinner, and watching movies together. There’s lots of options to choose from.
The bed was nice to sleep in, no complaints there. We didn’t get to use the shower but it has a tub which is great!
The main discomfort was only that most of the windows upstairs did not have blinds or curtains unfortunately. We liked it overall though and are glad to have been able to spend a few days in the Gorge.

House is in a woodsy setting with only a wood burning stove for heat on the first floor with plenty of wood in the shed to keep you warm. Layout is great with all bedrooms on ground/basement level. Kitchen is well stocked with tools for any cooking you may do.

Rustic, quiet and private location. We arrived at dusk, scheduled for 2 nights, but discovered some of heating/electrical outlets were not working. Our guest was awoken in the middle of the night with mice scratching inside the walls. The next morning in daylight we discovered mouse poop on the floors, in drawers and chewed up toilet paper, etc... VACASA was understanding and gave a refund on the second night, but charged full boat for the first night, pet, cleaning and their fees. Had to find alternative one night lodging with no notice, very inconvenient. Will look hard before using VACASA again if others are available.
Manager response:
Thank you for sharing your feedback, Steven. We apologize for the issues that occurred during your stay, and we appreciate you allowing us to refund you for the remainder of your visit. While mice are common in this rustic location, we are happy to report that after a professional pest treatment and deep cleaning of this home, no sign of mice have been found. In addition, the electrical outlets and heating units are working properly. We hope to have another chance to impress you in the future!

Great accommodations. Spectacular view. The right spot to be for exploring the Columbia River Gorge. We made a fire in the evenings. The kitchen was perfect for our breakfasts and dinners in the cabin. Nice quiet area. Wine tasting nearby. Would highly recommend.

A bit far from town but very nice

My family enjoyed our long weekend at the cabin in White Salmon. It was exactly as the add said it was described. If you want a quiet secluded spot with nature all around you then this is the place.

Joe H. Jan 2019
The cabin was great. It had everything we needed for a weekend of "roughing" it. Plenty of firewood and space for all of us (4 people and 2 dogs). We visited local attractions and did some hiking, relaxed by the fire, read some books and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.

Coming from LA this was the perfect way to unplug from the city and recharge. Great set up, spacious, and despite the furniture not being 100% up to par it was an amazing stay!
Beth B. Jul 2018
The cabin was quiet and comfortable, well appointed and had everything you could need
Debbie G. Jan 2018
It was so picturesque and snowy. It was super cozy and my kids had a blast sleeping in rhe bunk beds. Super quaint and great experience! Can't wait till next time!
Pam F. Jul 2017
Overall everything was great. There were plenty of linens and towels, and the house was clean. Key access was easy and checkout instructions were clear. I wasn't clear before arriving that the view of the gorge in the associated photo is not from the rental property. Nonetheless, it is nestled in a scenic grassy meadow. The double futon and two single fold out futon chairs are not counted toward the total capacity of sleeping 6 for the house. It is a quiet spot and we really enjoyed our visit. I would consider renting again on my next trip to the area.

This cabin was obviously lovingly and solidly built. The location is quiet and great for stargazing, as well as being a good jumping-off spot for some interesting hikes and adventures in the local area.
LaDonna T. Jun 2017
Very cute cabin with lots of room to spread out. Has all the amenities of home.
Stephanie C. Jun 2017
I love his cabin! I will be coming back again. It was so cute and cozy. Every room had a heater. Even the bathroom! The stairs were a bit loud dude to the cracking when waking on them (but it was hand built, so I understand) but sooo beautiful! I loved all the open windows, it was seriously beautiful! Thank you for a great place to go!
Paul J. May 2017
Great cabin far enough away from everything yet so close to a slew of outdoor activities.
Margaret L. May 2017
Whether a couple looking for a romantic getaway or a family with kids who need room to roam and explore this hilltop fully furnished cabin, only 8 miles from town, is a wonderful place to spend a few days or a week.
Dennis R. Apr 2017
Exactly as I expected it would be, very thorough description on the site. Only thing not mentioned much: there isn't much in the way of internal sound insulation, you can literally have a conversation through the floor. It wasn't a big deal for me, I brought ear plugs, but might be a big deal for a group of people or a group of people with small children.
Kaci L. Apr 2017
We came for a weekend away from the city and loved the cabin and location! There were heaters on when we arrived so the place was nice and welcoming. The fireplace kept us warm all weekend. Loved the house and the hikes/nature all around. We would definitely come back!
Alicia M. Jan 2017
We rented the Bright Cabin with some friends for my husband's birthday and wanted to do a lot of sledding and snowshoeing with the kids. This cabin was perfect! It was cozy and there was an awesome sledding hill right out the back door. It was daunting to find the place after dark due to heavy fog and lots of snow, but we were grateful that the place was warm when we arrived. We will definitely come back again next year!
Rachel G. Jan 2017
This is our favorite place we have stayed in the PNW. We were seeking a rustic, quiet weekend full of beauty and it was perfect for that. Vacasa handled our booking with professionalism and care. We loved it!
Ayesha E. Jan 2017
Beautiful Cabin and property. Great to get away from the world.
Rosalie C. Dec 2016
On December 2-4 myself and a couple friends spent the weekend in White Salmon at 7 Ramsey Ln and had such a great time, would stay again and would tell family and friends about it. So secluded and quiet just loved it.
Benjamin W. Dec 2016
We had a wonderful time staying at the cabin - very romantic and was the perfect place for a quick weekend getaway.
Kerri W. Dec 2016
Over all nice cabin as long as you don't mind roughing it a bit. You need to be able to start a fire in a wood stove and cut some kindling. It can be a bit cold until you get it warm and it takes a bit with both fire places going (gas downstairs where you sleep and the wood one upstairs). Most things where there that we needed to cook with. It is a pretty private cabin so that for us was nice to be away from the busy-ness. Be prepared to take a very short shower as I believe the hot water tank might hold only 10 gallons. Beds were pretty comfortable and warm.
Kim G. Nov 2016
Loved our stay here. Two story home with dark, intimate bedrooms below and great panoramic views and a wood stove in the living room. We loved the living room so much, we just spent the night in the very comfortable futon, never utilizing the bottom floor. Would highly recommend if you're looking for cozy, large place to hermit for the weekend.
Amy N. Nov 2016
Though things could have been a bit cleaner, we loved our Thanksgiving at the cabin. It was easy to cook in, and plenty of room for a big meal and family games in the living area. Nice views from the house!
Machelle S. Nov 2016
We enjoyed the White Salmon and Hood River area, you are close to all types of activities such as hiking, kayaking, fishing, shopping, leisurely drives, restaurants and yet you can still have the secluded feeling. Therefore, I cannot name just one or even a couple of favorite spots, I have so many and need to go back because there are still many more to discover. We enjoyed the cabin and we have always enjoyed working with Vacasa, but Bright Cabin needs the directions on how to get to the property changed. After turning onto Ramsay Lane the directions need to state that you must then turn RIGHT ON MEDOWLARK LANE, and then it is the first cabin on the right with a GREEN roof. There are some maintenance needs, after all, it is a hand built cabin and very well built one at that. The stairs could use some work a few of them are loose and shift a bit as you step on them. The landing is in need of repair but that is something I believe they will have to fix very soon. There is a reason they called it Bright Cabin, the big full windows that a person can sit and watch the sunrise or the sunset, what more needs said. Loved the wood stove, but it does nothing for the bedrooms in the basement and there is a gas fireplace in the basement, just not in the best location. They have provided small space heaters that work well at taking the chill off but the cabin could use another option for the basement someday. That is it for my pickiness, everything else was great, kitchen had everything a person would need, and the furniture was perfect for the cabin feel. If we could get away again right now and Bright Cabin was open, we would go back and stay longer. Watched Deer every night and got some awesome sunrise photos. Definitely, worth the short drive out of town. The staff at Vacasa has always been helpful, and polite. We have used Vacasa several times over the years for all types of needs and have never had any problems. This most recent time would have been the time for something to go wrong. With one phone call, we booked 3 different houses in 3 different areas for over the course of about 2 weeks and then the middle of our adventure we decided to add an extra day onto the beginning of our stay at Bright Cabin and that was done via email it was easy and simple. Thank you to the Regional Manager for the welcoming email sent to us upon our arrival at Bright Cabin, letting us know if we needed anything at all to please give him a call. I call that the personal touch.
Jaccelyn C. Nov 2016
Nice cabin, very rustic and private. We really enjoyed our stay!
Sierra B. Nov 2016
Very beautiful home had a wonderful time just relaxing by the fire place watching the fog roll in and out
Laura F. Oct 2016
Great wood burning stove. Made the cabin so cozy! Wonderful view.
Catherine P. Oct 2016
This cabin is beautiful, cozy and feels like it's a million miles away from real life. Not much to do here, which is a GOOD thing. Stroll through the scenic countryside, sit on the deck or porch or by one of the huge windows and just enjoy the peacefulness. The wood stove provides more than enough heat. The kitchen is well stocked. There are games, movies, music and abundant space. It was clean, comfortable and cozy. Must be able to climb stairs and build a fire.
Ed & Deborah F. Sep 2016
Nice place to relax and be comfortable.
Laura W. Aug 2016
Actual log cabin living. Very rustic, but you can't beat the views. Perfect for my family of 4.
Patricia F. Aug 2016
This is a sort of camping experience. No sound barriers or insulation make it Hot and every step on the wooden floors can be heard in the bedrooms. If everyone stays on the same sleeping schedule it works. We had a good time because we went to the nearby White Salmon River rafting, which I would highly recommend.
Taylor H. Jul 2016
Beautiful rustic cabin! Close enough to enjoy hood river and white salmon, far enough to feel your in the middle of no where. This place is great! Due to nature of log cabin, sound proof between rooms and kitchen is zero, so if going with many people and looking for rest or romantic get away, maybe bring a tent ;)
Edward K. Jul 2016
This property was perfect! The house is warm and comfortable. Well maintained... Even the beds were comfy which is a nice surprise when traveling. Deer and wild turkeys wandered through the yard on a constant basis. It was a perfect escape!!!! I have saved this property info and will use this every summer. So beautiful
Mical S. May 2016
We thoroughly enjoyed the Allwood cabin,
The picture of epic Gorge view was a walk away, not from cabin( that should be said under photo), 12 minutes from White Salmon, and considerably more affordable then a lot of other options. Hiking was close by and the area is very beautiful
Colin W. Feb 2016
Loved the cabin and the area!
Rebecca A. Dec 2015
We found the cabin to be cozy, and comfortable as we were surrounded with a foot and a half of nice white powder. Secure in a winter wonderland we enjoyed the wood stove upstairs and the pristine landscape.
Nights were cold due to a fireplace malfunction on the bedroom level, but the comforters were adequate to keep us snuggled through the night. We were pleased to find the driveway and road plowed just in time for an easy departure.
Millie D. Oct 2015
Ar check in, we were left waiting outside the house with three babies for 2 hours waiting for someone to help us into the home since there was a key broken off in the door from the previous guests. They offered no compensation for this huge inconvenience. I will say the maintenance guy was very kind and helpful.
Once we finally did make it into the house, we were greeted by a bat!!!! The maintenance guy couldn't get it out of the house so we were left to live among the creature for our weekend stay. Luckily the bat stayed hidden from view, but it was a bit unsettling. There were also SOOOOOOO many flies in this place. Two of us found flies on our bed pillows and onI was happy with my stay because of the people I was with. I would not recommend this property. One of us almost drank a fly that decided to die in her coffee mug!
I was happy with my stay because of the people I was with. I would not recommend this property. The area was gorgeous! Hood river is just a short drive away and full of cute shops and a lovely place to walk around.
Manager response:
We appreciate your feedback and regret to see that your stay was less than perfect. We will do what we can to be rid of the bat and flies, and we would like to apologize again that your stay began with a lock-out. We are glad to see that you enjoyed your beautiful surroundings!
Jas P. Sep 2015
Loved the rustic log cabin. Manager was very nice and helpful. The grass fields around the house are mesmerizing in in the wind. Very comfortable. Weak Internet. Peaceful location. Can't see the hood river as shown in the pictures. Lots of deer and turkey's.
Enjoyed the stay. Thank you.
Frances D. Aug 2015
Terrific location. Relaxing cabin.
Jenifer D. Aug 2015
Our family of five loved staying at the Bright Cabin! The kitchen was quaint and open and extremely well equipped. The living room furniture and set up were perfect for watching the sun go down and the wildlife appear. We loved all the games which led to a lot of great family togetherness and competition. If you are planning to spend most of your time new Portland or Vancouver, this cabin may be a little out of the way, but if you are playing in White Salmon, Hood River, and the wineries and parks slightly east and west of those, you will love it! This a great cabin for a larger family and the setting is serene and the view lovely!
Greg T. Jul 2015
This cabin is located in a rural neighborhood, several miles outside of the town of White Salmon, WA making for a bit of a long, confusing drive to and from town over country roads. However, once there, we found the location to be very quiet, private, and relaxing if not very convenient.
The rustic cabin is spacious inside, with many large windows and very well equipped and furnished. There is only one shower (1 and 1/2 baths).
Overall a good value.
Maura R. Jul 2015
The cabin was pleasant, but rustic. No AC, so late summer rentals are not recommended. Screen door, deck boards, and other interior maintenance issue need to be addressed. The daily rent for the house should equal the amenities offered. It would be best to improve the upkeep or lower the daily rent.
Manager response:
We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with us, and we will take your comments under consideration. Rustic is a great word for this home as it is hand-built and has a wonderfully authentic feel to it. We hope you enjoyed the beautiful views!
Kiran B. Jul 2015
Great place to spend a bit of time away from everyday life. Spent a week there and while I had my laptop and we had WiFi, I am happy to say I stayed unplugged

One word of caution, it gets HOT in summer. We were there at the hottest week in a decade and we felt it.
Dan L. May 2015
Really cool cabin that has a hand-built vibe in all the right ways. Could have stayed by the wood stove for days. However, future visitors should note that the directions in the listing are not quite complete. There is one final right turn that you make to get to the house after you turn on Ramsay. We arrived after dark and it was quite foggy, so we couldn't follow the key "blue roof" instruction in the Vacasa directions. We had a few minutes of confusion before figuring it out. If this point could be clarified in directions, that'd be helpful.
Manager response:
Thank you for sharing your review and feedback with us. We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay in this fantastic cabin. We will absolutely look into clarifying the driving directions for future guests.
Matthew F. May 2015
This cabin is about 30 mins from white salmon. It was great for the guy fishing trip. However please note that the walls are pretty much not there. If sound is going to be a problem this place is not for you. However, with a guys trip for fishing it was amazing! One item to also note, the cabin that is on the same drive way has a blue roof also. We woke up the poor women at 10 PM looking for the keys, felt pretty bad, however once we got to the cabin it was perfect and just what the doctor order. Also they didnt short on any of the little things, zip lock bags, olive oil, soy sauce, little bathroom stuff that makes all the differences when you forget a few items.
Manager response:
Thank you for your great review! We are so glad you and your fellow anglers had a great time here. Thank you for choosing Vacasa!
Cliff J. Apr 2015
If you're looking for a secluded getaway, this is a great choice. Just a short drive from downtown White Salmon and Hood River. Views were great, especially at sunset. House was very clean and had everything we needed. Grill could use a little TLC though. Helpful tip: follow the directions Vacasa gives you in the instructions and do not rely on Google Maps.
