The stars shine brighter in Serene Lakes. This cozy cabin in the woods is the perfect retreat for you to escape the hustle and bustle of city living. The propane fireplace adds warmth and ambiance without the work of building a fire. Enjoy a board game or read one of the many books available for your use. The cabin also has two large decks for you to take in the outdoors while enjoying your morning coffee, reading a book, or lying on a blanket to watch for shooting stars at night.

What's nearby:
Serene Lakes is near to many outdoor winter activities: cross-country skiing at Royal Gorge and downhill at Soda Springs, Boreal, Sugar Bowl, or Donner Ski Ranch. Or just strap on your snowshoes and take a walk around Serene Lakes. In the summer, hiking trails abound in the neighborhood and the lakes and beach at Serene Lakes are a hub of fun activity. just as advertised really nice , except the internet reception was iffy at best ,otherwise great stay
Manager response:
Jonathon, thank you for your feedback following your stay. We apologize for the inconsistent wifi connection. We always recommend resetting the router to try to boost the connection, but the service in the area can be spotty from time to time. We look forward to hosting you again!

Great location for a quiet getaway. Rustic master bedroom was perfect and the shared bathroom between the two bedrooms was a plus also. Truckee was super-busy on July 4th when my family was there, but this location while close enough to be convenient, was far enough away to avoid the hassle.

It was a nice home. Great location with easy access. I little bummed that the TV seems to be strictly for DVD as there is no cable and it is not a smart tv.

We went up to enjoy the last ski weekend of the year. This cabin was perfect for us. Good size (for our family of four + dog), lots of games, close to skiing, etc.

Vacasa is a disaster. Provided wrong info, and is a poor cabin manager. When we arrived, there was 10 feet of snow blocking the cabin and what we had to guess was the front door (and only entrance). The second story balcony was covered entirely by a 15 foot snow drift. Literally, there was no way to get into the cabin. We had to go get a shovel and we spent the afternoon digging a path into our pricey (4-digit $) cabin for the weekend. No way this is acceptable - what if we had we arrived in the evening? Or if we were senior citizens or handicapable? Or we just wanted to spend our time skiing and relaxing vs. doing your cabin’s housework? More issues: There are no curtains in one bedroom - it was hard to sleep, and I was forced awake by the moonlight and morning light. Heat inside was also a problem - only a small fireplace stove as the cabin’s heat source. The living room was dark, because the main light doesn't work. The mini space heaters upstairs (needed because of the lack of heat) kept shorting out the circuit breaker in the bedrooms. Took the better part of 10 hours for the cabin to warm up to a habitable 68F, everyone was super cold. Endless amount of "housework" needed on Day 1 to just not freeze, to find things in the cabin (like the fireplace remote control to turn up the heat to a human temperature), to cover the windows, to look for a house manual onsitfor (which doesn’t exist for the cabin). Vacasa was incorrect on several details of the cabin, which they're supposed to manage. The local Vacasa manager sent one text back, then we were SOL for the 3 day stay despite our necessary questions. Why bother. As it is, the cabin is certainly not worth the several hundred dollars per day we paid to stay over MLK weekend, and I definitely will never stay and pay for a listing "managed" by Vacasa. Stay away. The goods: Beds, bedrooms, kitchen were good to fine. Hot water is limited (runs out after 5 mins). Good water pressure. Overall rating: Thumbs down. This cabin is not for the faint-hearted. For that much money, I will definitely not be returning...
Manager response:
Hi Triane, We deeply appreciate having the opportunity to talk to you regarding your experience. Our sincere apologies that the home was not prepared for your arrival. We completely understand your frustration regarding the massive snow drifts that prevented you and our staff from accessing the home to complete the cleaning process. Our local management team has been made aware of the situation and it is their goal to prevent a similar event from occurring in the future. Thank you for notifying us!
