Overall the cabin and location were great. My brother and I surprised our parents with this weekend trip as a Christmas gift. Bear valley was always where we winter vacationed growing up. With 3 couples and 2 young children the space was the right amount so everyone had their own room. There was a little difference we didn't plan for. The pictured futon appears to be downstairs but in actuality this furniture was moved into the upstairs bedroom. This was okay in the end as we just shared the room with our kids. The original plan was to have my parents enjoy the larger room. The only other complaint is minor. We came for family vacation and not to watch TV. However with the NFL playoffs on we wanted to have the games on in the background. The tv downstairs we could not get to work it would turn on but either the remote was dead or not the right one. The TV upstairs is huge and worked but every channel was in Spanish. It took awhile to figure out how to change this setting. Would consider renting the same cabin again in the future and overall we had a great time.
Manager response:
Brandon - We will bring your comments regarding the televisions and remotes to the local staff and see what can be done in order to help our future guests. We look forward to hosting you again soon.

We enjoyed our stay here. Lots of room, although bathrooms could use more shelf area, but that is a minor issue. They have several games that our 6 year old enjoyed playing with us each night, so we were able to keep him unplugged for the weekend. Only about 3 miles from Big Trees state park, which was our main reason for visiting the area.

The cabin was beautifully built and crafted. It was so cozy you don't even want to leave. The design and layout were perfect for our party of six. The cabin was accommodating and built on a large lot with lots of trees. We enjoyed walking around the neighborhood to see all the other different cabins. We were just a few minute's drive from Big Trees State Park and the river.

My family and I stayed several nights and had a wonderful time. The house was clean, roomy, and had everything you need except for the food. They even supplied the firewood. We went in August and it was cool and quiet. We all went fishing and had a great time. We will definitely do this again.

We rented this home for a family ski vacation at Bear Valley. The cabinet itself is beautifully built, The accommodations were comfortable and the kitchen was nicely equipped. We very much enjoyed making a fire which warmed up the downstairs nicely. There is only one TV in the cabin and that is upstairs in the sitting area outside of the master bedroom door. Although comfortable to set up stairs and watch a little TV, we ended up spending more time downstairs just playing board games or hanging out at the kitchen table and talking. Great home for a weekend vacation and we will definitely be back!
