We loved our stay here. The cabin is cute and cozy and was perfect for a couple. The porch in back is a peaceful place to relax and read. Wonderful retreat from the city.

This is a classic Idyllwild experience. From the shabby cabin vibe to the upstairs den bedroom with A-frame feeling ceilings. Wasn't fancy but all you need for a cabin feel in the forest.

Loved the cabin - so cozy and smells great, beautiful surroundings, very highly recommended!

It's so private. For past reviews, 2 comfortable chairs and a table are now on the deck. Shower dripping hasn't been fixed and became a solid drip that couldn't be stopped unless you had a wrench (we had the Vacasa office, that is right down the hill, get a maintenance man come over). But it was so comfortable in the living and bedrooms. Fireplace worked great with the wood that we brought and they added an additional heater downstairs that kept the place very warm. The stairs up to the bedroom were so shallow that, at age 68, I had to crawl up on my hands and knees and go down them on my butt. However the cabin is so close to Mile High Cafe (great breakfast) and downtown, that it was totally worth our 3-day stay.

A clean nice little cabin in a very quiet neighborhood. Close to Humber Park and Deer Springs trail heads and a short walk to the center of town. Idyllwild has great art, shopping including gem stones and socks and great food. I've eaten at a number of restaurants there and have not been disappointed. Got to see Mayor Max, a wonderful golden retriever who interacted with people from the back of a pickup truck. The cabin has a good fireplace, books, art, nice furniture and plenty of kitchen items. (bring your own spatula). Also we discovered some wood out back though we bought some at the store downtown. Relaxing and enjoyable!

Second time visiting Walden in the Woods. Being able to grab a quick bite at a nearby diner with friendly staff, go for a quick hike in the snow, and read by a fireplace is a great way to unwind. Idyllwild has a lot of places to explore and already looking forward to the next trip!

Location was excellent. Loved the rustic cabin feel of the place. Lots of games and puzzles for the kids. Nice fireplace. Liked that there were no TVs or clocks. Truly a chance to unplug. Cabin was missing a few amenities (sharp knives, large pot, wine glasses, etc).

Such a quaint cabin. Adorably small, but not cramped. Adequate for the two of us, but would probably be fine for up to four. I felt like I was staying in a doll house in the woods. I loved the loft/upstairs bedroom with windows over the bed.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed this cute, small cabin in the woods! He had never visited this town before so the location and how close it was to Idyllwild was perfect! The kitchen is super cute, I think the only thing we wanted to change about it was we wish we had more light in the kitchen! Kind of hard to cook and see everything with only one light in one spot! And the fridge doesn’t have too too much room! But other than that. The house is cute, homey and good for a quick stay in Idyllwild

Absolutely what I was looking for in an escape from the city. So quiet and cozy with a great view!

This cute little cabin was the perfect escape from the desert heat. Conveniently located close enough to town to walk to the restaurants and shops. It boast a large deck for hanging in your hammock or sitting in the stillness of the woods (bring your own hammock or chairs for sitting). The kitchen is small, with an awesome gas stove, small frig and pretty much anything you need to prepare meals. The living room is cozy with a fireplace and windows that open easily to bring in the fresh mountain air. The stairs to the loft bedroom are tight and steep but manageable. there are two beds I believe they are full beds. The mattresses should be replaced sometime soon, they had their day. The bathroom is small and tight with a very small shower (low water pressure). Despite some of these set backs, the cabin is an awesome deal and a great get away spot. Beats camping!!

We found Walden to to very cute, quiet, well equipped, clean and quaint. It is ideal for a small group, and provides a real woodsy cabin experience.

Place was clean, close to town and private. Beds were comfortable and little stove heater made the upstairs sleeping area nice and warm. The heater downstairs didn't seem to heat downstairs area very well, but it wasn't too bad for a one night stay. Lack of dry firewood and dripping shower were the only negatives of this place. Would recommend, but bring your own fire wood!

This Rustic little Cabin in the woods is exactly what we needed. Loved the escape from the city, having WIFI was nice and kept us entertained between the board games and laughing and having fun. We will definitely be back!
