The cabin was really great. It's 15 minutes outside of Big Bear Lake, which is actually better for us so we could have peace and quiet away from the bustle of the town. It was really quiet and peaceful, particularly at night. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Plenty of towels, sheets, cutlery, pots & pans, etc. We loved the BBQ, which was well maintained and ready to go. We cooked on it every night.

We brought our big dog, and the yard was enclosed and gated, so it was nice to have him roam around the grounds. The place has dog bowls ready, so it has everything you need for a dog-friendly vacation.

We visited during some bad wildfires in the area, so the regular hiking trails were all closed, but nearby Pebble Plains was open and walkable from the cabin, so we spent some time there with the dog roaming freely. We were the only ones there, and it was a really serene and beautiful spot.

One of the previous reviewers said there were pitbulls roaming the neighborhood, but we didn't see any. We did see a fair amount of Trump flags in the neighboring houses (and some Biden flags too), but we didn't encounter any problems on the trip.

We had a great stay at Sugar Bear Lair! The fenced in yard was perfect for our two dogs and playing yard games! We loved grilling dinner and eating on the porch. There were many nice touches like the bean bag, bowls and toys for the dogs and the games in the home that added to our stay. We would certainly stay here again!

The cabin was absolutely perfect for a week long escape from the heat and hustle of the city. The wood burning fire place and the string lit backyard was the icing on the cake. I would highly recommend.

I love this place. The beds were comfortable and they had everything we needed in the kitchen. Also allowed dogs so it’s gated nicely. The house was very clean and organized. I will definitely recommend this place and will book again.

It was nice and reasonably priced as well as quiet. The only thing is the outside lights are on a timer that turns them on at 3am.

Manager response:
Thank you for staying with us! We apologize for the error with the lights. The timer has been corrected so the lights come on at dusk and shut off at 2am. We hope to see you again!

Very enjoyable. The cabin had everything we needed to cook. Luxurious linens. Vacasa was convenient to work with. Even if the location is a one time visit I will definitely be using Vacasa again.
