An easy and carefree condo to rent with nice east facing views with plenty of windows and sliders to enjoy the trade winds. An easy 20 minute walk to King and Queen shops. If you like to cook though, pick up some essentials as the condo only has salt, pepper, and ice. A good value for the per night price.

We loved the spacious floor plan, the third-floor treehouse-like setting with lots of big windows. The pool was nice, and the fitness room was an excellent amenity. The unit was nicely and comfortably furnished.

Unit #337 was comfortably equipped for our visit. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the sunrise over Mauna Kea with our morning coffee from the lanai. My onlly comment would be for future potential renters of # 337. The units location overlooking 2 very busy parking lots and 2 resort dumpsters is not very conducive to reading and relaxing on the lanai during the day.

Traveling as empty-nesters, we are usually only in need of a place big enough for 2. That is sometimes difficult to find. We had stayed at The Shores in Waikoloa many years ago when the kids were small and we were pleased to find a 1BR unit available for our recent stay. The Shores is located within walking distance of the Hilton, Kings Shops, Queens Marketplace, ocean shoreline and A-bay. Very nice to get up and be able to walk to wherever you wanted to go. The development and unit were nicely appointed. VACASA does need to provide better directions to the unit, however. The only address we were provided with was the managers office at The Shores and that was closed when we arrived. We had to get out and walk around the development to locate the correct building and find our unit. But, that was the only negative of the stay. We would definitely stay here again. (Note - I don't give 5 of 5 star ratings for anything unless my expectations are exceeded in a big, big way. That wasn't the case here, hence my 4 star rating.)

This was a great place to spend a week in Kona. The space was clean, stocked with everything, and had plenty of space. It was walking to the Waikoloa shopping areas and a few beaches. The only complaint is the bed was a little softer than our preference, but overall a minor issue.

We were very comfortable in this condo. We cooked in most dinners and the kitchen had what we needed. We used the tennis courts, beach chairs and pool. We enjoyed walking over to the coast and through the historic fish ponds. I wish there had been some cart to move our luggage and groceries from the parking lot up the elevator to the unit.

My daughter and I really enjoyed our stay. The pictures don't do justice to the view and privacy. There is a sunrise each morning over Mauna Kea and the lanai is quite private. The unit is spacious and clean. The grounds and pool is lovely. You are a 30 minute walk to shops and restaurants. If you like privacy, quiet, and beauty-this is the place!
Previous reviews mention the unit is outdated and the bed is too soft. These are personal preferences, but I would mostly agree. There are some missing little touches, like no facecloths, little provided soap, no quality beach toys like sand chairs and more stable umbrella, but not a big deal for us.
We would definitely stay here again!

The home was immaculate and very comfortable. It had everything we needed for our stay, except food. But that wasn't a problem as stores and restaurants are close, many within walking distance. Mornings were beautiful from the lanai with the sun rising over the top of Mauna Kea. Being on the 3rd floor provided panoramic views to the east. The Shores at Waikoloa has many extras that help make this place special like a pool, exercise room, tennis courts, and areas to BBQ. It is in a great location for exploring the Big Island. The staff of Vacasa were very helpful, professional, courteous, and quick to respond to questions and provide what we needed to make our stay pleasant. We would highly recommend this home for visitors to the Big Island.

Overall we loved staying here! Super quiet, clean condo, nice patio, large and well-equipped kitchen! Laundry is great and a few beach items like umbrella and chair were there as well. Location is great too not too far from Kona and Hapuna is close by as well.
My two recommendations to the host would be to maybe upgrade the mattress in the main bed as it is quite a bit saggy, so if you need a firm mattress this may be tricky for you.
My other suggestions would be to please change the way the A/C system works. The auto shutoff after 4 hours during the day results in a very hot condo when coming home from the beach or from dinner and the A/C struggles to cool the unit down once it has gotten that hot.
Rather than auto turning off at 8am, noon, and 4pm, why don't you let your guests program it. When we left for the beach at 800 am and knew we were coming home at 1pm, rather than the A/C running from 8-noon and then auto shutting off at noon resulting in a hot condo, we would have preferred to not run it until noon and come back to a cold condo. Same holds true in the afternoon and evening. It doesn't need to run for 4 hours but just for an hour before coming home from dinner. Would likely result in a reduced electrical bill as well.
