Fine dining at the Seaside Restaurant is available right across the street. Historic downtown Hilo, with more restaurants, shops, museums, theaters, and entertainment, is just four miles away. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is 31 miles southwest. Major improvements to Saddle Road have drastically reduced the drive time between the east and west sides of the island, making cross-island day trips very reasonable.

Enjoyed our stay here. The location is a bit out of town, but the building is quiet and the access to the bay for swimming and snorkeling more than makes up for it. Comfortable furniture and a great screened in lanai (patio).

The building is older but very well maintained. The unit was neat, clean and well appointed. The screened lanai was a real plus, allowing us to eat, relax and watch turtles swim at near-by Carl Smith Beach Park. We enjoyed our stay and will likely return.

Nice ponds nearby, turtles, wild boars, jungle :). Room is a bit used but has lots of useful stuff inside - just search.

We loved this very comfortable and clean condo over-looking the beach park lagoon. It was quiet and relaxed in a wonderful local neighborhood with everything we could want in a vacation home away from home. The covered and screened lanai was perfect--the ceiling fans provided all the gentle breeze necessary--the view lovely and interesting--the sound of the ocean a wonderful background in paradise. I will recommend this island stay and hopefully come again. This was an area of Hilo we had not explored in our many visits to the island. We loved the localness and the restaurant across the street(Seaside I think)was a real treat. Thanks for the memories and the place to experience them. ALOHA

The condo had a great view of a small lagoon, and was situated very nicely - easy to explore Hilo and the lava fields and volcano. Was a great home away from home. Lots of extras left in the condo - beach chairs, flippers, etc. Kitchen was fully equipped!

Clean, well stocked, nice views of Carllsmith park. Some of the permanent residents not very friendly, but the property manager was very nice. Convenient location close to shopping and restaraunts, fairly quiet neighborhood. Would definitely stay there again!

We enjoyed our stay at Mauna Loa Shores 403. It is close to our ohana and to downtown and the stores. Kitchen had everything we needed and more. It was clean, but the rug in the middle needed vacuuming. Loved hearing the ocean at night. I will definitely stay here again.

We stayed in the same condo last year and again it did not disappoint. Everything we needed, including the fry pan I bought last year and left there, was in the condo. The location is awesome. The condo and the grounds were very clean and in great condition. We will definitely be back!
