Modern, lovely dog-friendly home with private hot tub near the bay
This lovely dog-friendly Manzanita vacation rental boasts a private hot tub and a wonderful location close to Nehalem Bay, with a comfortable style that will make everyone feel welcome!
Located about two blocks north of Nehalem Bay (bring your kayak or canoe and put in here!), this home is perched between Manzanita and Nehalem so you can experience the best of both towns! The ocean beaches are just a short drive (or healthy 1.5-mile walk) through Manzanita's beautiful residential and golf course areas, and Nehalem Bay State Park is in between. You can rent horses there and ride through unforgettable scenery where the forest meets the ocean, and a bit farther up the beach is Manzanita, where you'll find coffee shops, restaurants, and shopping.
This charming three-bedroom, two-bath home has enough space for up to eight guests. You're also welcome to bring up to two dogs with you, though please note that an additional fee will apply.
Inside, you will have a comfortable living space that is all on one level, so even guests who may have limited mobility or have trouble with stairs will feel very welcome. Walk up the path to reach the front door and a small patio that will be a great place to sit quietly and enjoy a morning cup of coffee while you gaze across to the nature preserve, which is soon to be a park. This area is also grazing land for a local herd of elk - you'll likely get a close-up view of them, along with other gentle wildlife including deer.
Step into the main part of the house to find a living area complete with soaring ceilings, cozy seating, and a 47" smart TV. The open floorplan, with and plenty of natural light, will be a great place to enjoy the company of your guests. High-speed wireless Internet, cable, streaming TV programming, and a wide variety of board games will keep everyone entertained. You'll notice attention to detail in every room, creating a gracious, welcoming ambiance throughout.
A gorgeous chef's kitchen has lots of extras including a Keurig, coffee grinder, electric kettle, 12-cup drip coffeemaker, hand mixer, mini food processor,, blender, and waffle iron so you can make extra-deluxe breakfasts. The kitchen has plenty of space for multiple cooks, and feels very upscale with beautiful countertops and cabinets, yet functional with a large farmhouse sink and marble-topped island.
Step through the sliding door to the curtained outdoor room with wicker furniture, propane grill, and six-person hot tub. This quiet area is just big enough for you and your friends to relax and enjoy the salt-scented breezes. Around the corner of the garage is a fenced area where the dogs can romp.
When it's time to head to bed, you will find a king-size bed in the master bedroom. The second bedroom has a queen bed, and the third bedroom has a twin-over-full bunk bed with an additional full-size trundle. This room would be fantastic for the kids. All in all, up to eight guests can comfortably sleep here.
Around this stretch of the Northern Coast, you will find no shortage of charming eateries, shops to explore, and natural beauty. Start with a trip to the beach, where you can stroll along the sand, fly kites, splash in the refreshingly chilly water, beachcomb, and watch spectacular sunsets over the ocean. In the very nearby Nehalem Bay, you can go boating, fishing, and crabbing. Nehalem Bay State Park offers fantastic hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails, a lovely beach to explore, and amazing views.
Manzanita and Nehalem are quiet, off-the-beaten-track towns. For a change of pace, you may want to visit some of the other coastal towns nearby. Popular Seaside, just 30 minutes north, has a huge variety of restaurants, shopping, and a charming downtown area with the Carousel Mall and the Seaside Aquarium. If you keep driving north you will reach historic Astoria. If you drive south, instead, you will pass through Wheeler, Arch Cape, and Rockaway Beach on your way to Tillamook, which is about 40 minutes away. Tillamook has more eateries and shops, plus two wonderful cheese factories and a fascinating air museum.
However you choose to spend your stay, this dog-friendly Northern Oregon Coast vacation rental has everything to ensure you have a wonderful trip!
*Please note that hob tub use is not permitted after 10 pm under any circumstances. Thank you!
We loved the proximity to Elk Meadows park with walking trails, views of the Bay, quick access to Nehalem Bay State Park. Still close to the beach but away from all the congestion. Kids loved the bunk beds and we loved the roomy living room. Highly recommend this home.
Aside from the weather (rained the whole time), this was a perfect weekend getaway. Beautiful home, well-kept, in a great location. They were even very gracious with us when we were a bit too loud (sorry again!). Would definitely recommend!
Very nice place, we had a great family outing here!
Lovely high ceilings, open concept home. The elk were pretty neat too. Home was immaculately clean.
We loved staying at your place. The rooms were clean with plenty of towels and linens for us. We loved the hot tub after walking on the beach. The washer and dryer were awesome!
We loved staying in this spacious and bright coastal gem! Rooms are cozy and open floor plan for the kitchen, dinning room and living room were great for our group of 6. The hot tub was very relaxing and it was especially nice to park in a garage for the duration of our stay.
Perfect for our small work crew to relax after work for a couple days.
Thanks for the wonderfully appointed and clean home we arrived to.
This home was great! Plenty of room, a hot tub, bunks for the kids and a close short drive to town. Was perfect for our impromtu Labor Day getaway.
We loved the layout of this home. It was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay! It wasn't really walking distance to the beach, but a very short drive to downtown. This was a convenient location to be away from the crowds, but close to the attractions. We really enjoyed the hot tub, as well. Great find!
I stayed here with several friends and a couple dogs for two nights. The location is great, in a very quiet neighborhood just a couple minutes from Manzanita and within walking distance to access the Nehalem Bay. The house itself is really nice, with lots of natural light and a good flow and layout. We loved how spacious it felt. Garage access with a code was super convenient. The hottub worked perfectly and was great, as was the well stocked kitchen and the comfortable beds. However, the house wasn't as clean as it should have been. Walking barefoot on the wood floors created a black residue on our feet, and there was gunk in between the couch cushions. Also, there are a few things that could use updating. The grill is pretty old and rusted and hard to start, and only half of it really works. The speaker system only connects to an iPod, which should be specified as I don't know anyone who has an iPod anymore and there was no adapter to use for an iPhone, so we went without music. A substantial chunk of consecutive slats supporting the top bunk of the bunk beds was completely missing, luckily discovered before someone slept in it (we ended up putting the mattress on the floor). Lastly, I think it should be specified that the fenced portion of the yard isn't accessible from an interior door, so anytime we wanted to give our dogs access to the yard, we had to walk them outside and around the side of the house to put them in a small fenced strip. It's a little inconvenient to dog owners who are accustomed to just opening the door for their dogs to go outside/inside at will and to be able to monitor their activities. Overall, the house was nice, but could be cleaner and given just a couple updates that would really elevate the experience.
We are sorry to see there were some disappointments with this visit. We are working with housekeeping to accomplish a more thorough cleaning, and we were able to repair the bunk bed slats. The speakers for the home do have an aux input. Thank you!
Wonderful space to relax in. The home faces a little park that is quiet and relaxing.
The Bonnie Dune provided the perfect respite for my family. There was enough room for all of us and the kitchen was great.
Newer construction home in the north part of Nehalem bay in a very quiet setting.
Some of the cons: 1) The sensor for the garage door is loose and the garage door will not close unless the sensor is aligned. It's currently tied with a zippy tie which looses every time the garage door is opened. 2) The house wasn't cleaned up correctly when we arrived as there were: diapers under the master bed; a bottle of honey in the master bedroom side table; spilled redwine inside of the kitchen corner cabinet; etc. 3) In addition the wooden floors in the living/dining room and kitchen which are not clean as they were very sticky. 4) We noticed many ants inside of the house that had a made a path where the master bedroom carpets meets the kitchen wooden floor.
Note that there is no TV in the master bedroom, but there is good wifi signal so you can stream shows to your own tablet device.
It was only 2 of us staying at the house so it felt spacious given that its 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. There is a hot tub in the back side of the house, but the hot tub is exposed to the back road alley, as there is no fence, and just a curtain for privacy which moves with the wind. We didn't use the hot tub but it seemed cleaned. There is a also a outdoor grill in the same area as the hot tub.
The house has a good Washer and Dryer. The kitchen is so so stocked. There are enough plates and cutlery. But if you need a Pyrex container or special kitchen devices I suggest bring your own.
Soaps, shampoos and towels were provided, as well as clean sheets.
The garage door sensor is being fixed and housekeeping has been made aware to be more mindful and detailed while cleaning. The pest control company has been called to resolve any issues.
This home has a lot of natural light and was spotlessly clean! The king bed might be the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. Im coming back for sure!
We loved this house, it was perfect for our weekend family getaway with two adults and two children. The hot tub was great, beds were very comfortable, home was clean and nicely decorated. We felt right at home, had all the amenities we needed for cooking and even a kite for our girls to use at the beach! The plus side was sitting on the front porch and enjoying the view of the elk herd right across the street.
This home is great, Clean well laid out, great location, quite neighborhood, and has everything there... I will be staying here again!!!
Relaxing, comfortable, superb cleanliness, and absolutely loved the elk that hang out in the front yard.
My family and i had stayed here for a few days and everything was great. It felt like home away from home. Great vacation.
Beautiful home, more in Nehalem on the bay than manzanita near the ocean but we enjoy our stay!!
We’ve stayed in lots of properties maintained by Vacasa and never been disappointed. They are our go to properties.
Beautiful home in private subdivision. Hot tub was clean and inviting. Home is light and airy, very open and clean. Couldn’t ask for better. We plan to make this our “go to” rental when staying in Manzanita.
Great place to stay! It's on the bay which is absolutely beautiful at sunset!
Quiet location with everything you could possibly want at a property. Nice walks around the property. Short hop to Manzanita for groceries, coffee etc... Good restaurant options a short drive away. Easy day trips to Cannon Beach, Tillamook and Sea side.
Write The house is very nice. The pictures don't do it justice. However, there are no curtains in the living area/kitchen besides a few sheer ones and it offers no privacy which was a negative aspect of the house. Also every little sounds echos because of the high ceilings.. not sure much can be done about that though. Could use a little bit of a deep clean but with the craziness of summer just slowing down and how busy it has been it was in very good shape. Maybe focus on the outside and get the cobwebs by the front door (I'm terrified of spiders and my boyfriend had to unlock the door for me!) Overall fantastic stay and I was sad to have to leave! Will definitely be back and recommend to friends! Oh, also, it's the 4th house from the end not the 3rd like the driving instructions say! It was a bit confusing when we checked in!
We found this home last minute and we were very pleased. Beautiful kitchen and good floor plan. Quiet neighborhood. Hot tub was clean and great amenity. Just a short 5 min drive to Manzanita town center and beach. Highlight was finding and exploring Short Sands beach in Oswald West State Park about 10 min up the road.
This house was just the right size for a family of five. There was plenty of space and our kids really enjoyed the hot tub. easy drive to downtown Manzanita or Cannon Beach and Seaside. Great place to stay, we would definitely recommend if you are looking for a great place in this area.
It is very clean and comfortable. We stayed with our family of 6 adults and 2 toddlers. The open floor plan was really great!
This was by far the nicest home we've rented at the beach. Really nice open floor plan. Beautiful kitchen. Although it's not walking distance to the beach it's an easy drive to Manzanita or Rockaway. The only complaint I had at all was the lack of a privacy fence in the back. There are curtains provided to give some privacy when in the hot tub but the wind constantly blows them open. And if you bring dogs it would have been nice to have an enclosed area. Overall, the house was great. Nice quiet street...and nicely furnished inside.
A herd of elk hung out across the road for several hours and let us watch from a close distance. It was quiet. The stars under the night sky were beautiful. We had everything we needed!
If you have a family (comfy bunk beds) in one bedroom and two other bedrooms with a queen bed each, or a couple, you will enjoy this home, Bonnie Dune! Roomy and well appointed, you will not be disappointed! Ocean and Shopping nearby, Tillamook ice cream available, we liked the blue painted market in nearby Nehalem for that! Antique shops all around, too! HAVE FUN!
Nice place to stay at, only a few issues that need addressed (esp. considering the nightly rate of the rental)
We enjoyed our stay in this home! The kids loved the hot tub and the house was clean and well kept!
Great value quiet and the hot tub was nice!
Our stay was exactly what we needed and having a warm and beautiful home to stay in was the cherry on top of the cake.
A group of five women greatly enjoyed this house for our knitting retreat. Clean, bright and comfortable. Gorgeous decor. The hottub was a fantastic addition.
We had such a wonderful time staying here!
The only thing that could have been better was the location of the house - but that's what we signed up for!
Would highly recommend this property for anyone that doesn't mind being a short drive from the town of Manzanita. Quiet, super clean, great hot tub. We loved it.
Bonnie Dune doesn't disappoint. The home was clean and still smells new. We loved everything about it except for the location, no easy access to the beach. This house sits just above Nehalem Bay.
The house was large and well kept. The hot tub was clean and had jets. It's a quiet neighborhood. We didn't see or hear the neighbors. We felt safe and relaxed the entire weekend.
We loved our weekend here! The rental was spotless, there were games for us to play, plenty of kitchen accessories; everything we needed! We comfortably fit 6 adults and two small dogs. Would definitely stay here again!
This house is stylish and beautiful. It was very clean. The area is quiet and the location is convenient. I will definitely stay here again!
Great location just a couple miles outside of downtown Manzanita
This home greatly exceeded our expectations. It was exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated. We especially enjoyed the nearby Nehalem river (a two block walk) - a tidal meadow with tons of wildlife.
We enjoyed our stay at this home. Well maintained inside and nice amenities. The exterior landscaping could use some weeding. And, the location is definitely outside the main Manzanita core. If you don't mind driving in/out of town and/or won't be leaving the property this has everything one could need or want.
A nice quiet relaxing house. Clean and well stocked. Close to the bay and Elk were close. Easy drive to Manzanita and surrounding beaches. Enjoyed and would stay again.
Wish it was a little closer to beach or town but worked with our two families for the most part since it is a short drive.
The Bonnie Dune is a cute house in manzanita. The bunk bed also has a trundle, which makes the room great for kids. We stayed for a quick weekend, but it has the room and amenities for a longer stay.
Stayed here with my 4 kids for spring break. Had a great time, house was big enough for everyone to have their own space. They loved the hot tub. Location was perfect, easy car access to beaches and short drive to restaurants. Would love to stay here again.
This home is truly as beautiful as the pictures! Quiet newer neighborhood. Very nice treat to park in the garage, which isn't an option at most rentals. Very comfortable and well appointed.
We would have enjoyed a king sized bed in the master bedroom instead of the queen sized bed as we are tall. But we knew that it was a queen when we reserved the home. :)
Quick walk to the bay. Short drive to many great beaches and food.
Thanks for having such a great property available to rent!!
Right when you drive down the road to this place you feel relaxed. We were so thankful to be away from the beach, yet close enough to still hear it in the distance and enjoy it. The quiet was so amazing. We saw deer and an eagle! As a mom, I was so thankful to be in a house that was clean and ready for us to live in for a couple of days. I really appreciated the housekeepers. It smelled of clean linens! I loved the decorations and calming colors. The only thing we did not like was that the hot tub had too much chlorine in it so we were not able to use it, and the fish bowl feeling when you are in the back and in the living area and kitchen. There are no curtains, so people in the next house were looking in at us.. I actually saw someone looking in while I was doing dishes! So bring your own curtains if you like privacy. All in all it was a great area and place to relax. Can not wait to go back!
I rented the Bonnie Dune because I could bring my 2 well trained and well behaved dogs. I shopped for a place with some open space nearby and the Bonnie Dune was perfect in every way. The neighborhood is up-scale, the home is very new, and clean, and Vacasa is great to work with--efficient and professional.
The house was beautiful but we would love to have had more kitchen amenities - like a working mixer (completely missing parts and unable to use) foil and plastic wrap (none were in the drawer marked foil and wrap), mixing bowls etc. essentially more items for those who really like to cook and plan to do so in the house. We were fortunate we brought so many prep items ourselves. Additionally having only double beds for adults that were not very comfortable, as well as few spare pillows and blankets was a little disappointing. The hot tub was lovely, clean and the absolute perfect temperature but it faces the driveway and has zero privacy. A simple outdoor curtain would be a perfect fix for this. The home was also missing things like tissue and soap dishes. Overall the home is beautiful, clean and well located but at this price point, missed top marks due to some of the aforementioned issues . The bunk bed, while we didn't use it was a great design for children and adults with stairs leading up to it instead of a ladder. The entry way for coats and shoes was also adorable. Vacasa was also wonderful to work with.
We had a wonderful weekend at this house. It's a great house for multiple families with kids and has great amenities...like the hot tub! We will definitely be back.
We had a great time. The house is spacious and lovely. Perfect for our getaway. One minor issue is that at 11 pm we get a knock on the door, and a lovely man from vacasa let us know that we'd received a noise complaint. The were six 44 year olds sitting in the living room, laughing about old college days. This is what prompted the complaint! So if you plan on chatting with each other after 9 pm, you might close the living room windows, lest a similar knock will be received. Other than that, it was great! The house is beautiful.
