Beautiful location, comfortable home & a pool I still dream about. 5 am on our second day & I was in the pool already. There's a great shallow end, which our toddler loved, & a good deep end too. Also, fantastic double outdoor showers.
Kehena beach & other lovely spots are a stone's throw away. Lovely drive up the coast to Pohoiki beach, at Isaac Hale state park...2018 lava flow aftermath amazing to see.
Good places to eat near by in Pahoa... I love to cook, & found the kitchen spices to be lacking (basically salt & pepper), however I found the French press & coffee grinder - which made me happy.
Why not 5 stars you ask?
The beds: upstairs king, extremely soft & awful for any kind of back issues... frankly, not great for love-making either.
Downstairs queen, super firm, & noisy getting in & out.
Screen door on downstairs lanai fell off the rail everytime you opened it.
BBQ needed cleaning & no bbq utensils... we made due.
However, this didn't stop us from having a great time.

The main picture of this home on Vacasa is nowhere near as nice as the reality of this home. If you want something that is a little off the beaten path and offers you peace and quiet this is the home to rent. We live in the country on acerage so are always a little concerned about going on vacation and having all kinds of people surrounding us, but this is situated nicely on the property and you feel like you're the only ones around. We swam in the pool several times a day (and the water was really nice, good temp and you didn't get out feeling all dry like normal chlorinated pools) and loved the open airiness of the house in general. Everything was very easy with this house, we had zero issues. The grounds are really pretty, we had a good time trying to identify all the different fruits and flowers. Every morning we spent several hours in the screened in lanai enjoying the bug free view. My only (small) complaint (not enough to deduct a star) is it would be nice to have a few more pillows of varying types to offer - they were all very full and fluffy! Maybe throw some down pillows into the mix for those of us that don't care for super thick pillows :) We would stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay so much! It's a great location with quiet neighborhood but so many beautiful attractions close by..we walked to the black sand beach several mornings! The house is so big that you don't feel too much even with four boys playing together! lol

My partner and I had a great time at Blue Kehena! So close to the Kehena Beach and we were serenaded by nature at night. Beautiful place!

Our stay was incredible. The house was very comfortable, great pillows, it had everything we needed. Dealing with your company (we asked for a late check out) was great also. The person we talked to was so nice and helpful.

The kitchen is well equipped. Quiet, except for the coqui frogs at night, but we liked listening to them. If you have heavy luggage you must prepare for the stairs.

We had a great time at Blue Kehena. It is a beautiful home, well equipped, located in a night neighborhood. Great location. A short walk to the beach and a short ride on the Red Road to the warm pond and tide pools. We had a blast at Uncle Roberts Wednesday night.

The house was really nice. Clear air and night sky stars were the best. Cooking utensils are very convenient at home.

Blue Kehena was perfect for our vacation! The house was very easy to get to and very clean inside. Each bedroom was a little different than the next. All were very comfortable and clean. The living/dining/kitchen/balcony was the best. It felt as if you were in a tree-house in the jungle! Beautiful. Washer/dryer/dish washer all worked perfectly. Only 5 minute walk to the beach! Would totally rent again. Made for a wonderful stay in Hawaii.

The house was so comfotable, filled with so much light. Loved waking up to the sun and palm trees while being able to escape to the cool downstairs for relaxationg. Just a few blocks from Kehena Beach. Love this place! Mahalo!

I traveled to the Big Island with my four kids and stayed at the Blue Kehena with another family with two kids. There was plentiful space, beds, and Netflix to keep the kids happy. The accommodations were wonderful! Great neighborhood, beautiful beach, and just a quick drive to see the gorgeous church, Star of the Sea (must see!). If we head back to the Big Island, we would book this house again.
