Room the where very big and nice. We love the pools for the grandkids. Place was very clean..

We spent 2 nights in this apartment while the space was ok we had an issue with cockroaches, they were out and about while we were eating, cooking, they got inside our food and we ended up having to throw food away. We had bought enough food for the kids for the time we were there and we ended up discarding more than half of what we had gotten. If there is an infestation it should be communicated and pest control should be brought in to take care of it. Price was high for those 2 nights on top of that we still had to deal with being careful what we were using or checking our toothbrush prior to putting it in our mouth to make sure the little roaches were not already on there. It was disappointing. We went to relax with our family and ended up stressing out about all of that.

Here is the positive and negative feedback:
Very nice location. It is less than a block from the beach and right next to one of the 2 pools. There are 3 small decks and 2 of the decks overlook the pool. There is no furniture on the decks, but we used the folding chairs from the front closet. There are no beach towels, so don’t forget those. The unit definitely needs to be updated, there is lot of wear and tear, but we wanted to be close to the beach, so we were ok with an older unit. The 3 bathrooms were a plus. The condo needed some basic cooking essentials, like knives, pans and baking sheets. The local Vacasa manager brought us a lot of new kitchen items, and a new microwave. The microwave was missing when we arrived, so he dropped off a brand new microwave right at the front door. There is limited seating in the living room. There is just one couch, but you can also use the wooden dining room chairs as seating. The grounds are beautiful and well cared for, and the security is excellent. This unit does not have a washer or dryer. There is a laundry room on the premises that uses quarters. It’s $3 per wash and $2.75 per dry. If you come in the winter, be aware that the 2 pools are NOT heated. There are 2 hot tubs, but during the current situation with COVID, there is a 5 person limit on the hot tub. We just kept an eye on the hot tub and ran out to use it when it was empty. You can see the hot tub from the circular window or the deck. The large community deck area overlooking the beach is very nice. FYI, you mist wear a wrist band to identify you as a guest of the property in order to get back in from the beach entrance. I liked the tighot security. The complex feels very safe. There was a noise when the air conditioner turned on, but I think that should be fixed ASAP. Our family of 7 stayed for 16 days. I think 7 would be the limit for guests. It was pretty crowded. The listing says there are 5 queens, but they seemed more like double beds. My favorite bedroom was the upstairs bedroom, but there was no rack in the closet, so we couldn’t hand anything. However, the rom s has a circular stairway and it’s really cute. There is also a pull out couch, but I think the living room is too small to actually use it. Overall we were satisfied with the condo. Again, the location and the grounds were terrific.

great security, great place to stay. only two problems 1, somebody left french fries in the lower oven and 2 there wasnt enough cleaning supplies. close to beach just what we wanted

Bahia Mar was a beautiful property. We loved the pools and hot tubs. Tge grounds were immaculate. However, the condo was nice but in need of updating, especially rhe upstairs bedroom. The dresser was dirty in the middle drawers. We didnt use that row of drawers. The vanity upstairs was so old it looked dirty all the time. No plugs for either bathroom. Both tubs chipping. When we turned on the 1st floor shower, the handle came off. There wasnt a broom to sweep. All the kitchen utensils and drinking cups seemed like they were from the dollar store.
We had 3 couples, the condo was a good size for us. Any more than that might be tight. The sofa needs updating. Its a sleeper, but honestly with the table there, i have no idea how the sofa will come out. Plus its so old, im not sure anyone would want to sleep on it. All the outside patio door handles have rust. No chairs in the balcony to enjoy the view. No washer/dryer in unit.
Good news, VACASA was extremely responsive. They contacted maintenance for us, and maintenance was there within the hour. We brought paper plates and our own towels, disposable forks, spoons, cups ect, so the lack of those items didnt bother us. We stayed 7 days/6 nights and we ate out 90% of the time. But if you want to stay at the property and cook, bring your own stuff. I would recommend VACASA, and Bahia Mar. But this particular condo is just a 5 out of 10. VACASA and Bahia Mar is a 10/ 10! They have alot of other rentals that are more updated. We did have a great time!

While we did have some issue with some of the Cable TV not working, we didn't allow that to disrupt our vacation. After all, we weren't there to watch television anyway. Over all, we loved the property and it's location alongside the beach. The entire property was very well taken care of and beautiful. Our room, while not extremely spacious, was just the right fit for our family and accommodated us nicely. I mostly appreciated to he Staff at the New Bahia Mar Condominiums. They were extremely courteous and polite from beginning to end. Not once did we encounter a member of the staff that was unpleasant. Every member greeted us with a smile each and every time we seen them. I would highly recommend this great place to anyone planning to visit South Padre Island and if we ever head back that way again, I will certainly be staying there a second time.
