We really enjoyed our stay at Lodge Lafayette. It was perfect for our family, a great space for gathering and games. The kitchen is pretty well equipped, which was great for our foodie family! The floors are a little bit wonky in places, but it just adds to the overall character. Great location & super clean. We did, however, have a problem with the fireplace smoking a lot, and then found that insulating foam was used in the fireplace which sent toxic fumes and smoke into the room! I was assured that it would be taken care of, but be careful if you use the fireplace! Overall we enjoyed our stay, and would love to stay here again for our next Franconia visit!

Thank you for making us aware of the issues with the fireplace - the owner has repaired the fireplace and chimney and the insulation has been replaced with fully conforming materials. In addition, an auxiliary fan has been installed to ensure the fireplace draws properly. The fireplace is now fully ready for guests to enjoy! We hope you can come back soon!

Nice destination and comfortable house for a family weekend.
Big living room space to spread out. Nice dining room. Two full clean bathrooms (could use more towels). Nice outside deck to sit. Bedrooms clean and comfortable. General decor nice and amusing. Close to hiking, skiing and Littleton.
Room for improvement... the kitchen is not well appointed if you plan to cook and eat at home while there. Could use more pots and pans, sharp knives, utensils, scissors and just general kitchen accoutrement. It would also be nice if the outdoor space was a little cleaner and inviting. All in all... would go back knowing what I know now and bring the stuff I need to supplement. It has a homey vibe and you can feel the feel the family and house history. It's all around you.

The lodge was our 2nd home this winter, and it was a great weekend get-away for our families. We rented the home with another family (4 kids between 2-6) and it was the perfect size. Enough spots for the kids and the grownups to have separation. Close to Cannon and town, perfect location.
