This cabin is everything advertised and more. Rooms were very spacious, clean and comfortable. Cabin has all the amenities you need and could ask for. Just bring clothing and food and your ALL SET for an amazing weekend. The views and sounds of the river, just a few steps from the cabin, are simply breathtaking. Could not recommend a better place to stay in this area.

Our holiday stay in this family home was very memorable. The house easily accommodated the six of us. We especially enjoyed the ability to cook our own meals and fire up the wood stove for a real cozy feeling. The river setting and view out back were spectacular. As avid hikers, we found the proximity to nearby trail heads convenient. And what a bonus it was to watch a pair of eagles fly in and out during the day along the river, in the trees and on the rocks. We would definitely recommend this location to others and hope to return at some point in the future.

River Roost as a property is perfect for a family holiday. The rooms are large and clean. It has 3 balconies and a small garden that wraps around the property, although frankly you don't need it because the best thing about the property without a doubt is it's location. We have never been anywhere so heart stoppingly beautiful. Index is surrounded by soaring mountains that take your breath away. River Roost sits on the banks of the Skykomish river which, with its white rock banks, is also incredibly beautiful. We swam in the river most evenings. Index itself is a great little community, with a local shop for provisions and a coffee shop/bar. It also offers a range of outdoor activities such as kayaking and rafting. I can honestly say it is the best holiday we have ever had. I thoroughly recommend it.

We enjoyed our time in Index River Roost! Will strongly recommend it. Beautiful location!

Our family of four adults spent Christmas week at the River Roost in Index, and it couldn't have been more perfect. The cabin is large, with huge bedrooms, a working wood stove, and large picture windows in the living space giving stunning views of the river and mountains on three sides. We walked into the little town of Index almost every day, where there is a small convenience store open long hours. We would definitely stay there again with no hesitation. Highly recommend.

Really enjoyed the house and the location on the river with mountains all around. Close to Seattle but seems many miles away while there.

There were three of us. We spent a lot of time at the dining room table just soaking up the view. It was breathtaking! We were so pleased at every aspect of this cabin. It was charming. We hated to leave. We got the quietness away from people that we needed. I would highly recommend this home to my friends. If you are expecting a "modern, high class" building, this is not the place for you. But, for those of you expecting "cozy", this is what you will love.

We had an amazing stay here. Great set up. Can only imagine how beautiful it would be in the winter too. Index is a super cute little town.

The cabin was exactly what we were looking for in a weekend getaway. Great peaceful view of the river, trees and mountains. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cookware, bedrooms spacious, bathrooms clean with plenty of hot water and towels. I would recommend this cabin and stay again. Close to hikes, Wallace Falls in Gold Bar was a great day hike even in winter, close to Stevens Pass for skiing. Monroe is the closest town for a large grocery store so stop for any supplies you might need. Limited cell service but internet was fine.
