Very nice, clean, quaint home. Loaded with many extras, we didn't need anything at all! The view is spectacular and although there are neighbors, you can't see them; the home is fairly secluded. The house is not large, but perfect for 3-5 if you don't mind having some sleep on the futon/couch. The hot tub/whirlpool was a hit. We didn't use the very small (separated) house, but it's very cute for one person to stay in. We had an issue unlocking a door, but the property manager immediately responded. Overall it was a fantastic time and we were very satisfied with the property.

Our family of 4 spent a weekend at Jaybird Retreat in July with one goal: UNPLUG. The cabin and its accompanying MIL unit offered a much-needed respite from the frenetic pace of life in Seattle. While the property is noisy, it's a completely different noise. Instead of trucks backing up, sirens whizzing by or the din or hurried construction work erecting more town homes (on our street), the Jaybird Retreat welcomes you with one glorious noise - the sound of the rushing Skykomish River, which in itself is pure therapy! We spent almost all our time in the main cabin which is very clean, comfortable, tastefully furnished and well-supplied with all our basic needs. We brought 2 cars and parking was plentiful right on the property. While there are neighboring homes on either side, the trees and foliage create a sense of privacy. We were quite tucked away and undisturbed except for an occasional dog barking. The views of the landscape and river from the deck are beautiful. We explored 40 feet down a steep trail behind the cabin and enjoyed the river up close. A five-minute walk down the street takes you to another trail that leads you to a wide open rocky beach further down the river. My husband who enjoys photography set up a tripod on the deck and captured stunning photos and time lapses of the sky from sunset to sunrise (complete with tall trees and mountain backdrop). The sky is so clear, you can even see the Milky Way. It was wonderful to enjoy conversation, star-gazing and s'mores at the fire pit (4 outdoor chairs are included, but bring your own cords of firewood.) Everyone in the family came with a different idea of ""relax,"" but the Jaybird served everyone well. We all relaxed in our own ways. Whether napping on the comfy couch, working on a 1000-pc puzzle (the cabin has several board games and puzzles), taking photos, sitting by the river, sun-bathing on the deck, or reading a book, we all were able to accomplish our goal of getting off screen and returning to simple pleasures, simple life. We planned to do some hiking (there are so many options nearby), but we opted to take things slow and just soaked in the comforts offered by the cabin. The one time we ventured out was for horse-back riding at Skyland Ranch (a 3-minute drive away). The staff there were fantastic and horses well-trained - highly recommend. We came home reluctantly, but refreshed. It was a time of sweet fellowship in a cozy ""home away from home."" We hope to ""retreat"" again and check out the nearby trails (especially Wallace Falls State Park)...or maybe just unwind and rest again! Highly recommend!

The home was cozy and clean, the hot tub was ready to be used, and the kitchen was stocked with cooking equipment and some pantry items. I would definitely recommend

This cabin was perfect for my weekend trip with a friend. It's hard to believe that only an hour drive from Seattle could take us to what felt like such a secluded and relaxing location. There is a clear view of the river from inside the cabin and outside on the large porch. Along with the beautiful view and garden, there are easy public access points to the river just a 5-10 min walk away. In addition to these access points, we were easily able to make the 10 minute drive to Wallace Falls State Park, which offered a great hike. Being located in Gold Bar also meant that we were able to take another hour drive to Leavenworth for a fun day trip. We stayed in the main cabin and took advantage of the full kitchen several times, including using the waffle maker and provided waffle mix! The cabin is comfy and clean inside. Being equipped with Roku television, puzzles, and board games, the cabin was also perfect for the rainy afternoon we had to spend inside inside.Overall, we had an amazing stay and would love to come back for a longer stay!

Jaybird cabin is a reasonably short drive from Seattle, in a secluded private setting, yet not far from groceries and other essentials. The cabin is warm and comfortable. We didn't need to use the other building for additional guests, but examined it and it's also lovely. The kitchen has ample utensils for whatever cooking you might require, with a decent array of appliances. You'll want to bring your own spices beyond salt and pepper, and pick up some drinking water. Other than that, the cabin has everything you'll need. We loved our stay.

My time at Jaybird cabin was amazing! My friends and I wanted to have a quick getaway for a few days and this house right on the river was perfect. It is just the size for everyone to feel really cozy together. For meals, we would cook in a kitchen overlooking gorgeous scenery, and after we would eat out on the deck; the view is spectacular! We spent our days exploring the nearby trails and businesses that are great for group activities. We even went to Leavenworth one day to check out the town. At night we would roast marshmallows over the fire pit. The stars here are absolutely incredible!! We would lay out on the deck and watch the stars. One of the best features I’d say too, would be the hot tub on the deck; we used this daily, at night even when it is cold outside. Overall, my stay here at this cabin was amazing; and I would definitely recommend to anyone who’s looking for a relaxing yet fun getaway.

Had a wonderful birthday getaway at Jaybird Cabin. This little cottage is clean, tidy, and so cute! It has everything you need for a relaxing time away - barbeque grill, hot tub, AMAZING views, comfy bed, sweet little kitchen, and a great deck overlooking the river. I'll definitely be going back!
