Open-floor-plan home w/ gorgeous ocean views & private beach access - dogs OK!

Right on the picturesque Northern California coastline, this dog-friendly Fort Bragg vacation rental offers clean, contemporary design with a gorgeous ocean view. At eight miles north of downtown Fort Bragg and three miles south of Pacific Star Winery, this prime location offers peace and tranquility just a short drive from restaurants, shops, and other attractions. It's the perfect retreat for getting away from it all, yet you'll still be able to wander through art galleries, easily explore picturesque coastal villages, and sample the area wines.

When you step inside your Fort Bragg getaway, you'll be greeted with an open floor plan and vaulted ceilings throughout the house. The spacious living room has plenty of seating with three couches and spectacular white water ocean views. Step out onto the attached deck (which is sheltered by glass on three sides) to take in the sights, sounds, and smells of the ocean. Settle in for an evening of games and puzzles (in the coat closet), a good book, or a favorite movie on TV. There is central heat, as well as a pellet stove if you really want to be warm. You'll have access to the garage and you're welcome to charge your clean-air vehicles here!

The spacious, Margaritaville-themed kitchen boasts stainless steel appliances and plenty of counter space. Enjoy whipping up a big pot of cioppino or an organic roast chicken in this well-equipped kitchen. There is an eating bar for snacks or a quick breakfast, and a more formal dining room table as well. If you need to brainstorm some ideas for home-cooked meals, there's WiFi throughout the house, so you can easily look up recipes online.

The one-acre lot is perfect for family games, flying kites, or building fires in the newly constructed firepit. Please check with the local fire department to make sure it is a "safe" burn day.

At night, three bedrooms provide comfortable spots for up to eight guests. The master suite has a California king-size bed and the other two bedrooms have queen-size beds. The living room has a queen-size sleeper sofa as well. Each space continues the home's beachy theme.

If you choose to bring your well-mannered dog, please let us know as an additional nightly fee applies. This home also has a convenient laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer, so there's no need to over-pack for your getaway to the Northern California Coast!

What's nearby:
Enjoy private access to the local Seaside Beach with Ten Mile Beach Marine Reserve/MacKerricher State Park within walking distance. When you're not exploring the beaches, Pacific Star Winery provides outstanding local wines and beautiful ocean views. To the south, the Mendocino Coast Botanical Garden, with its coastal bluff and marine zone gardens, is the perfect place for a scenic picnic while you take in the region's native plant species. Just a bit further south is the Sea Glass Museum, Caspar Headlands State Beach, and Point Cabrillo Light Station State Historic Park, with the charming community of Mendocino just a few miles beyond.

Downtown Fort Bragg offers its own laid-back personality with shops, galleries, and restaurants that include the North Coast Brewing Company, Eggheads, and Mendo Bistro. After a day of beachcombing or hiking, slide into a comfortable booth for pints of Old Rasputin Imperial Stout and a plate of garlic fries. No matter what you do on this stretch of the Mendocino County Coast, you will have a wonderful view! Be sure to visit Noyo Harbor and watch the fishing boats come and go and eat from the many hidden restaurants down at the harbor. One favorite is D'Jangos at the very mouth of the harbor, a dog-friendly spot with live music on the patio on weekend afternoons.

Plan a relaxing stay at this Northern California Coast vacation rental for an unforgettable beach getaway right next to the sand and surf!

We loved the open floor plan, the comfy, cozy bedrooms, the dog friendliness and the access to the beach!

It was in a good location to get to a small beach. The house had plenty of supplies (dish soap, laundry detergent, etc). Liked the layout of the house and beautiful views! I have to admit, having the white carpet was stressful. 😂

This was a great location for 6 women to gather for the annual retreat. There was something for everyone: views, shopping, beach walks, game nights, 'spsace', cooking, eating and napping.
There are some issues with the electrical and we needed to tend to the breakers from time to time. And none of us could get the pellet stove started. Other than that, the place was well appointed and comfortable. We really had a wonderful weekend.
Manager response:
Hi, Rhea! We are glad to see your group enjoyed their stay despite some setbacks. We have verified the instructions for using the pellet stove are correct and that the stove is working; we apologize for any difficulties you had despite this. We have notified the owner of your concerns regarding the electrical. Thank you for staying with us!

We loved the WINDOWS. . the view was spectacular. Beds were very comfortable and high-end. We had a power outage and had difficulty locating more then 1 flashlight that worked and no backup batteries.
No can opener, and it appeared paper products we scarce. The kitchen did have alot of spices and plenty of cookware.
It was very clean and you could tell slot of thought went into every detail. It is a ways from Fort Bragg so if the town's are important to your vacation you might consider renting another home.
Lots of room for a family of 6 to hanging out and yet space to disappear.

We had a wonderful time at this home. Aesthetically, it can use a professional painter with better choice of colors, some updating in the bathrooms, repairs on the wooden trims that are dry-rotting, etc... but considering that they accept dogs, we were very appreciative for the rental and the location on Seaside beach, the best beach in the area for dogs. We loved the firepit outside and being able to walk to the beach without having to cross a busy street. The downside is having to drive 15 mins to Fort Bragg anytime we wanted to eat since we only cooked breakfasts. I would recommend this to those who have dogs except be careful that the property has no fencing. When we walked the dogs, I spent a lot of time cleaning my dogs' feet since there are many burrowing rodents around the property that tills up the rich black soil. If my dog had tracked this in with wet feet, we would have made the carpets black.. . the rags I take with me to rentals were totally stained and the bowls of water became almost black. I was grateful for the washer and detergent available at the house. My son wanted to sleep in the living room w/ the best views but there were no sheets for them. Maybe an oversight. This house deserves 5 stars for dog owners who have difficulty finding finely maintained homes and 4 stars for those who don't have dogs.
We also appreciated the olive oil for cooking breakfast : )

Our family of 6 stayed the week here and had an amazing time. It was a perfect location with a private beach and two small coastal towns within 15 minutes by car. We had planned to make day trips inland to explore the redwood forest but were so in love with the private beach that we stayed at the house the whole week. The huge tide pools were great for the kids to play in during low tide and the caves were the highlight each day to see what treasures the tide had brought in. The house was very clean, the beds were extremely comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. The private fire pit, deck and yard were also perfect for our family to hang out and relax.

Dan and Wendy were great hosts. After my self check-in, if I had a question like which remote operates the TV’s inputs? I would drop them a message and within a short period of time, Dan would reply back with the answer. Their gas grill located on the enclosed deck worked great! There’s nothing like grilling steaks, burgers and chicken to satisfy ones sense of smell that is enhanced with vista views of the Pacific Ocean fog that blankets the beautiful Mendocino Redwood Coast. My family and I look forward to our next stay in the Mendocino Coast.

It was a great house for my husband and me plus our daughter and her two little sons, ages 8 and 5. The kitchen is so well stocked that it made cooking all our meals so easy. Everything we needed was in the kitchen. We enjoyed playing Monopoly and Sorry with our little Grandsons and playing baseball and soccer in the big back yard was amazing. But the best, of course, was the short five minute walk to the Pacific Ocean. It was a wonderful, private beach. All my questions were quickly answered by our host. We felt very safe and secure in this outstanding neighborhood. It is close to MacKerricher State Park and Fort Bragg. I’m hoping we will return next year!

This was a perfect place for our family. It was beautiful and clean. It had all the right amenities and more. The rooms were bright and cheery. The location is just beautiful, tucked in between the mountains, the country and the beach. Awesome views of the ocean. We loved everything about the deck. The smell of the forest, fog and ocean air with a fresh cup of coffee is the perfect way to start out the day. Easy to get in when we first arrived. Great instructions for everything. Very clean and we felt like we were at home. When we left there was a list so we knew what to do. Perfect place.
