Our family of 4 (including 2 adult kids) had a delightful Thanksgiving at the Trout River House. Spacious but cozy house provided all we could want. Husband spent hours on end in the river fishing for the recently stock trout. We prepared a full Thanksgiving dinner -with most cooking needs provided. Should have realized during Covid that many food supplies we see in a VRBO would not be included. So salt and pepper, sugar and flour, oil, etc. we should have brought. But the individually wrapped toiletries provided were a thoughtful and welcome addition.
SUPER comfortable king bed in master; nice big master bath; ample comfortable couches in the living room made for cozy tv watching on the very large screen with cable and internet. Other pluses were a very nice large deck and new concrete stairs to reach the river. Thanks for sharing your vacation home.

Great place! Comfortable beds, great view of the river, and quiet street. Liked the new steps that go to the river and the deck. Enjoyed!

House was well maintained and had a large deck out back to sit and enjoy the sound of the river or watch the wildlife. Slope to the river is a bit steep but manageable. Stairs to the river are perfect. Had no problems whatsoever. Please know there are several ways to get to the house from NB. River road is scenic but long after the 3rd or 4th time. Take 306 around to north NB and your good to go. We would absolutely stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Trout River House this weekend. The house is very spacey and open which gave us plenty of room to hangout. The new deck is nice and the new stairs leading into the river made getting into the river super easy. There was not a grill available to use but luckily we had brought our own but I wouldn't be surprised if a new grill was there to use the next time we stay again. The house was very clean and was stocked with clean towels, utensils, dishes, paper towels, paper toilet, and trash bags. The Wifi worked well and had no issues with the ac. They also had extra camp chairs, air pumps, air beds, and games in the closets. We will definitely book this house again.

This home was perfect as our refuge from Hurricane Laura. The home is very well taken care of, clean, and so peaceful on the river. Our children loved playing in the river and it's not far from tubing, the cute little town of Gruene and not too far from New Braunfels. LOVED it. The only "draw back" would be no cable or dish, but you could stream channels.

From the moment we got there, the place was awesome. Very private feel and a great location. The kitchen had everything one needed and the master bed was one of the most comfortable we've ever slept in! We will be back!!

Super cute, comfortable house. Very spacious & it had all the general amenities to make it a home away from home feeling (cookware, washer/dryer, towels, cups, silverware, chairs to hangout on the deck). The best thing about this house is the yard/view. The yard backed right up to the river and we were able to hang out with our younger kids at the little creek and not worry about them floating down the river. The only critique I have for this place is to invest in some stairs or better pathway/rail down to the river because it was way too steep.

Love the tranquility of the place.
The house has everything you need, it is very clean, we enjoyed it.
It is away of the crowded spots of the river, you wont see very many people on this area of the river.
We would love for the house to create a nice stepping exit to the river. It was not easy specially with little ones. Also a nest of yellow jackets by the porch made it very difficult to enjoy the beautiful porch.
thank you we really like the trout river house
Manager response:
Thank you for choosing to stay with us! We are sorry you encountered issues with some unwelcome flying guests during your vacation. Rest assured that the yellow jackets are not normal visitors and we are sorry they interrupted the enjoyment of the home. We are glad your stay was otherwise pleasant and we look forward to hosting you again!

Having river access was important to us. It was a section of the river where it was easy to walk in the river and fish, and still have access to deeper water to kayak. We were close to the Horseshoe Bend, river outfitters and Canyon Lake. There is a slope going down to the river, that can be difficult for some. We enjoyed having a well equipped kitchen, although previous occupants put back pans without thoroughly washing them, which is gross. The master bedroom and bath is spacious. The closet in the master was locked, and there wasn't a place to hang clothes. We shared a closet with those in the other two bedrooms, which is not convenient. I recommend that the linen closet be adjusted to accommodate hanging clothes, by removing the bottom racks and adding a clothes bar. I really appreciated the new deck.

The house was just as advertised. It is on a lovely quieter stretch of the Guadalupe, away from the huge crowds of tubers. But the classic floats were minutes away when we wanted that.

Great location, right on the river. Floated from horseshoe to the house then from the house to the lazy l&l. We have a family trip every year to the river and we would definitely stay here again. House didn't have a grill so bring your own because it's perfect place to sit in the backyard, grill and watch the water go by.

There was plenty of room for 5, even with a teen who “needed her privacy!” The views
were beautiful & the deck was very nice. The little fire pit was just the thing for s’mores!

My husband, I, and our two children (11 & 7) stayed at this property. The location was perfect for children to play in shallow water, catch turtles and tube.
We were sad to have to come back to reality.
I highly recommend for a less busy, but fun part of the river.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Trout River House. The house was very clean, spacious and had everything we needed. We loved the location as well. It was so great to hear the water flowing over the rocks as we drank our coffee each morning. The owner was quick to respond to questions and extremely kind. He was starting some renovations the day we checked out so we’ll be excited to go back and check them out. I would definitely recommend this home for your next vacation rental on the Guadalupe River!

We loved the home and being right next to the river! Will definitely stay again!

The house is great. Fully furnished kitchen with tons of utensils. Enjoyed our stay thoroughly. The backyard slopes at a sharp grade. Steps or some kind of path would be nice. The Guadelupe right in your backyard.....enough said
