Having river access was important to us. It was a section of the river where it was easy to walk in the river and fish, and still have access to deeper water to kayak. We were close to the Horseshoe Bend, river outfitters and Canyon Lake. There is a slope going down to the river, that can be difficult for some. We enjoyed having a well equipped kitchen, although previous occupants put back pans without thoroughly washing them, which is gross. The master bedroom and bath is spacious. The closet in the master was locked, and there wasn't a place to hang clothes. We shared a closet with those in the other two bedrooms, which is not convenient. I recommend that the linen closet be adjusted to accommodate hanging clothes, by removing the bottom racks and adding a clothes bar. I really appreciated the new deck.

The house was just as advertised. It is on a lovely quieter stretch of the Guadalupe, away from the huge crowds of tubers. But the classic floats were minutes away when we wanted that.

Great location, right on the river. Floated from horseshoe to the house then from the house to the lazy l&l. We have a family trip every year to the river and we would definitely stay here again. House didn't have a grill so bring your own because it's perfect place to sit in the backyard, grill and watch the water go by.

There was plenty of room for 5, even with a teen who “needed her privacy!” The views
were beautiful & the deck was very nice. The little fire pit was just the thing for s’mores!

My husband, I, and our two children (11 & 7) stayed at this property. The location was perfect for children to play in shallow water, catch turtles and tube.
We were sad to have to come back to reality.
I highly recommend for a less busy, but fun part of the river.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Trout River House. The house was very clean, spacious and had everything we needed. We loved the location as well. It was so great to hear the water flowing over the rocks as we drank our coffee each morning. The owner was quick to respond to questions and extremely kind. He was starting some renovations the day we checked out so we’ll be excited to go back and check them out. I would definitely recommend this home for your next vacation rental on the Guadalupe River!

The house is great. Fully furnished kitchen with tons of utensils. Enjoyed our stay thoroughly. The backyard slopes at a sharp grade. Steps or some kind of path would be nice. The Guadelupe right in your backyard.....enough said
