Quiet, secluded vacation home in the woods w/ outdoor shower

This stately Edgartown vacation rental, complete with new bamboo floors, an outdoor shower, and a moss-covered yard, offers a spot of lovely seclusion for the duration of your Martha's Vineyard vacation.

You're only five miles from the heart of Edgartown and across the street from scenic Morning Glory Farm. Ben Toms Preserve and Sweetened Water Preserve are mere minutes away and you can head up Edgartown Road to Manuel F. Correllus State Forest, one of the highlights of any trip to the Vineyard.

This gray clapboard home features blue shutters on its exterior. Inside, The Blue Cape features lots of natural light and spacious bedrooms. The living room boasts two wooden couches covered in plentiful comfortable cushions. A rocking chair has its own ottoman if things become to strenuous. Sink your feet in the two vintage Persian rugs that envelope the new bamboo floors. Toss your raincoat on the coat stand and cozy up for a nice night in front of the large flatscreen TV, complete with cable and DVD player.

The dining room sits under a huge vaulted ceiling with skylights. Up to eight gourmands can enjoy a hearty repast at the wooden dining table. The kitchen features a three-seat breakfast bar for morning noshes as well as a fridge, electric range, and dishwasher. Prep some veggies and meat for grilling on the counter space and take them through the sliding glass doors to the back deck, which includes a gas grill and bench seating.

Just down the hall you'll find the master bedroom with a queen bed in a gorgeous antique wood frame, a large dresser with a mirror and cupboards, and a small flatscreen TV for your viewing pleasure. A cute bathroom with a standalone shower is just around the corner.

Head upstairs and you'll find two additional bedrooms as well as a loft with a queen futon. Both bedrooms have two twin beds apiece, each with floral coverlets, antiques, and seascape paintings and photos. One bedroom has a sitting area, plus a queen futon for extra accommodations. A wooden room divider offers semi-privacy. There is another full bathroom on this level, so nobody will be jostling for time to freshen up before a night out on the town. Up to eight guests can sleep here comfortably!

Guests have access to free WiFi, cable, and a washer and dryer. There's even an outdoor shower to rinse off the sand and grime from a day at the beach. You can play board games or grab the boogie board from the basement and head in to the surf.

Edgartown and its neighbors on Martha's Vineyard offer a whole host of fun activities and excursions. From hiking and biking in nearby preserves and forests to relaxing on one of the many warm-water beaches to savoring a delicious dinner at one of the eateries in town, you'll never want for something to do.

Homey and secluded, you'll enjoy every minute of your stay at this Martha's Vineyard vacation rental.

A very spacious and well equipped home. A nice quiet place, not to close to neighbors. A good central location. I would come back to this home again.

The house was as promised and in description. It was close to everything and owner had thought about everything. We had a wonderful stay. Only thing we did not like was mattresses in bedrooms were super uncomfortable and only one room had queen bed. Rest was perfect for our family!

This is a great property
Very well maintained, very clean. We had no problem whatsoever. I will highly recommend this for someone who is looking for peaceful getaway.

The stay at the Blue Cape as expected
For a older home. It was okay
There was plenty of room for my family
The only fault I had was that the stovetop
Was dirty and rusted and oven was dirty
There was note asking to start a load of laundry before we go but there was no
Laundry soap to do that

We loved the Vineyard - three days of "wow"! This house was centrally located and well stocked, nice grounds in a quite neighborhood. Three of the fans were broken down - lucky it was not too hot. Had an issue on arrival with crumbs on seats and floor, but was quickly fixed when they returned to finish the job. Could use new mattresses. Loved the outside shower!
Manager response:
Hi Carole, we are so sorry that you felt the mattresses were an issue. We have never had that complaint raised in the past. Guest comfort is important to us so the owner has purchased a brand new queen sized mattress for the master bedroom. This should provide many years of blissful slumber. Thank you.

The house is located near Edgartown in a very quiet neighborhood. It was easy to get everywhere from the location. We hated to leave.

This house had plenty of room for the four of us. We enjoyed having the front room to gather and process the day. We didn't use the kitchen, preferring to go out. Beds were comfortable.

Overall the house is clean and neat, there were enough beds and sofa beds for sleep of 8 people. We have everything we need. Will definite stay again!

This was a great place to stay this summer. About 2 miles from downtown Edgartown and beaches. Convenient to roads reaching rest of island as well. House is in excellent shape. Had all linens, kitchen items, etc. Much better than other houses we have rented. Vacasa was great as well. I would stay here again!
