Mermaid Manor is a lovely home with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, a washer and a dryer, and a well stocked kitchen. The house is also close to many attractions. Our favorite was glass beach.

If you’re looking for a family-friendly home with easy access to McKerricher State Park or the beach, this home is amazing. The fully renovated interior is beautiful - every room is tastefully decorated with adorable nautical elements and completely modernized.
A few things to keep in mind: it is an older home located right off of Highway 1, so the rooms that are located at the front of the house will be subject to traffic noise. Ear plugs and white noise made a huge difference to our enjoyment of those rooms.
We also found that water from the tap had a metallic taste & odor. There is a water filter in the refrigerator for drinking water so that’s not an issue but it was initially disconcerting when showering.
Overall we LOVED this home, it’s location, layout and decor. We would totally stay here again!

We loved this sweet home — historic on the outside and modern on the inside. It’s been beautifully renovated with a lot of thoughtful details. Anyone staying here should know there are people living in a separate home on the property — you share a yard with them. They were very quiet and we did not require.complete privacy, so it was not an issue for us whatsoever.
It’s a little north of town but you can walk to a gorgeous beach (maybe half mile, at least the path we took) and a Mexican restaurant which makes it an easy and enjoyable location. We would love to stay here again.
Our only negative would be VACASA’s lack of response to my emails with questions. I finally called them and got an answer after waiting on hold for a half hour before a person picked up. I would encourage that property management business to work on their customer responsiveness.
Edie, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Mermaid Manor. Thank you fr the feedback concerning responsiveness. We are receiving more calls that normal which effects our time wait on calls and emails. We look forward to hosting you again soon. Thank you.

The mermaid manor was the perfect home away from home. It catered to small children as well as adults and had everything you could need while on vacation. The renovation on this beach house beauty is phenomenal and inspired me to think about revamping my own home. You could tell the owners really put a lot of thought into this beach house down to every last detail. We will definitely be back!

Four of us stayed for three nights and had an absolutely great time. The house was spotless, the beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen was a cook’s dream. We loved all the extra touches including a charging stations, wine fridge, reading glasses, Keurig coffee maker and lots of soft throws to use when hanging out in the living room. We enjoyed walking to the beach through the state park and found it easy to drive to Mendocino. Perfect for a group or family get-away!

We rented the house for a long weekend to attend my nephew’s wedding in Fort Bragg. It was a lovely house that easily accommodated all seven adults. It was great that the first floor was accessible as this allowed my mother who uses a walker to easily move about the house and to come and go without having to worry about steps. The kitchen was well equipped for all our meals both cooking and eating. The dining table was more than large enough two that even when two friends joined us for lunch there was plenty of room for everyone to sit. The bedrooms were lovely and comfortable as was the living room and front porch and back deck. We didn’t have time for them but they even had cards and dominos and a few other games in case we wanted them. We were I. Walking distance of a beach and a short drive to a number of other beaches and nature areas where we could walk and look at plants and birds. A wonderful stay in a wonderful house. On top of all this Lori was a great host quickly responding to any questions we had and making sure we had access to the house and Checking to make sure everything was okay. I highly recommend this place. We hope we will have a chance to return again.

What can I say about this charming home? You can tell it has been recently remodeled. The finishes and personal touches are wonderful. It's nautical / mermaid / sea life theme was simply adorable. Everything was neat and clean when we arrived. The kitchen was fully equipped with practically everything you would need to entertain. The bar set-up was delightful. The beds were so comfy. TV in every room had cable and/or Netflix. They had games to play (cards, etc.) It was a bit chilly in March when we stayed and the heater worked great. I only wish we would have had direct access to the beach from the property, but the beach was minutes away in the car. It was so peaceful in the evening sitting on the deck listening to the crickets chirp and in the morning from the deck we could see a family of deer's walking quietly on adjacent properties'. I especially like that there was one bedroom downstairs as I was traveling with my senior mother who climbing stairs is a danger. The bathrooms were lovely too. Everything fresh and new!!! There is a little store close by if you need a little something or a large grocery store located in Fort Bragg 3 miles down the road for your larger grocery needs. We felt safe here, not a lot of strangers milling around. Neighbors' were friendly and gave you a wave if they saw you. If I find myself vacationing in the area I would definitely stay at Mermaid Manor again.

Really wonderful, clean well stocked, comfortable, beautiful and a great location. The kitchen was amazing and the open plan made it easy to hang out but also possible to have your own nook for reading and relaxing.

Spent a week for our gourmet girls get away...ages range from 69 to 87 and we all had no problems navigating the property. Lovely handicapped accessible bedroom for the two who have some mobility issues. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and would not hesitate to return.

Had a wonderful time staying at this great property! Nicely appointed, modern, clean with a large common area, The Treager BBQ worked perfectly...tri-tip and baked potatoes cooked exceptionally well! We gathered in the sitting area every evening and reflected on the day's activities, very cozy! Thanks for offering an outstanding property to stay in! Bob Camblin Family

Beautiful home! We were a group of 8 (4 coupled). I was the lead on planning this trip and was so glad I picked this home for us! It was the most comfortable home for all of us, they all were impressed. I had groceries delivered by Harvest Market (the kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals), we walked right next door to dinner our first night and one morning walked to the beach. It’s all right there. The pictures show well but the details get missed on how beautifully decorated this home is. It’s like a home decorated by HGTV Joanne Gains. The three bedrooms upstairs gave everyone private space and the down stairs master suite was the best (my room). We also spent our time around the kitchen island cooking and chatting. Had it been warmer weather we would have utilized the patio more. You will love this home!
