Private & cozy single-level home very close to town w/ trail access!

Take time off work, because this Tahoe City vacation rental is waiting for your stay. With a fireplace, lots of privacy, and access to local trails, this Tahoe retreat is perfect for your next getaway!

Very close by is Granlibakken Tahoe Resort, as well as Paige Meadows, Pacific Crest, and paved bike trails. The ski resorts of Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows are just over eight miles away. You’ll definitely have lots to do close to your door here!

This single-level home's entrance is around the back, which faces the forest for a relaxed setting. You'll have an expansive deck with seating to observe the quiet trees. The home itself is modest but cozy, being well maintained and a great option for a family getaway, including the grandparents.

The main room includes comfy leather couches arranged before a wood-burning fireplace. Share a movie over the flatscreen TV equipped with cable and a DVD player or listen to music with the stereo. The home also has WiFi for checking on the weather (chances are it's going to be good)!

Just behind the living room is the kitchen and dining area, where you'll have all you need to prep a meal (including extras like a waffle iron and coffee bean grinder), and enjoy it next to huge windows.

All of the rooms are on one floor, so it will be easy to get yourself to bed after a long evening cuddled around the fire. The master includes a king-size bed with en suite bathroom, while two more rooms have a queen-size bed each. There's a second bathroom so there will be minimal waiting in the morning. Up to six guests will feel right at home at this Tahoe retreat.

Get out and walk on the nearby Paige Meadows Trail or even explore part of the famous Pacific Crest Trail. If you're a bicyclist, bring your wheels because this home is close to a paved, lakeside bike trail leading you to scenic spots like Meeks Bay and Dollar Point. Skiers may like a visit to the small Granlibakken Tahoe Resort or the popular Squaw Valley and Alpine meadows of Olympic Valley. All resorts offer outdoor summer activities, too.

It's time to get away! Pack up the car, because this North Lake Tahoe vacation rental is just where you'll want to stay.

The house was in a good location close to town. Quiet and cozy. The layout was good either ample seating for all of us. Nice deck although the weather was a little too cool to sit out there for long.

Such a great spot, everything was perfect, beautiful house, and location was ideal. Will definitely be returning in the future!

Amazing location, clean and comfortable

This home has a beautiful private deck nestled in the pines. The beds were comfortable, with a king, queen and bunkbed room. The bottom bunk is a double which provides for plenty of room. The kitchen had the utensils and pans we needed. Our only small issue were the lockboxes for the keys. We could not open one and the other was tough. They stick so the cover had to be wrestled off. Would recommend looking at them. The management company was very responsive but we were able to get one open ourselves.
Manager response:
Thank you for sharing your feedback, Ralph! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at this Tahoe retreat home. We're sorry for any trouble you had operating the lock boxes, and we have scheduled a maintenance visit to see that they are functioning properly, or if replacement is necessary. We would love to host you for your next getaway!

Had an excellent time at the house and in the mountains. Happily each day we'd retreat home for a meal and a chance to recharge for another day on the mountain.
Rawhide Ranch is quite nice, with a big kitchen, dinning and living room for all to relax in with three private bedrooms allowing for those that needed to sneak away to sleep.

Hope to return in the spring.

Thank you

We had a great two night stay. Everything was clean and the house had everything we needed. We loved the layout of the house and a great view of the trees.

it's only 10 mins from squaw valley and fits 6 people. i'd definitely book it again!

This was a nice house. One of the bedrooms was a little small with a double bed. We thought is was a queen. But, the kitchen was well stocked with the tools of the trade. The living room was comfortable and the back deck was awesome. This house backs up to a long descending slope to a private road with very little traffic. Quiet and relaxing after a long hike. Great access to a wonderful 7 mile loop trail 100 yards away.

I walked in the house and it smelled clean so at that point I was sold. The stove/oven is outdated but the stove worked (didn’t try the oven). Microwave was outdated but it worked. The pictures were completely accurate. I LOVED that there are ceiling fans in every bedroom. That should be in the description. I only go to Tahoe in the summer and most places are equipped for winter but not summer. Also there was a regular comforter in the closet so I could take the down comforter off. The master bed was firm if that’s what you like. The queen beds were comfortable. There were tons of towels and plenty of shampoos and soaps. We had two cars parked there and I think three would be tight but doable and the owners had the garage door opener so we weren’t able to use the garage like the description states. The neighborhood was beautiful and quiet. I would definitely stay there again.

We stayed here last Thanksgiving and after days of searching for alternatives to try, came back again for a week. Feels like our home away from home now. Brought my mom and sister with us and even with 5 people, nice and cozy and roomy too. Noticed the new table and chairs, refridgerator, knife set, and dishwasher. Used the fireplace too -- and sat on the lovely deck to read, visit and store our bikes. Perfect one-story for my mom (only 3 short steps total to the deck). Son loved the big TV and easy access to his Xbox and hooking up Netflix (bring your own HTML cable). Close to Tahoe City and our favorite trails. Just wish we could bring our dog.... but love Rawhide all the same (plus they had quality wine glasses.....) Thanks!

We love this neighborhood! Steps away from the trailhead in the Pines, but it is the view off the back deck of the Pinetree‘s that had us at hello. Nice and cozy for our family, with all the accoutrements needed. We will be back!

Rawhide Ranch is a nice home, in a nice neighborhood. Enjoyed having a cup of coffee on the porch, as the view was toward the trees. Liked the bear fence - it obviously works well. Had everything we needed in the house, from paper products to kitchen appliances. I had an urge for some tea one afternoon, but couldn't find tea bags. I'll just bring my own next time, and leave them for the next guests to enjoy. Best place we have stayed at in north shore. House is conveniently located to great dining, entertainment and a short walk to hiking trails and the lake.

My husband and I stayed here with our 2 young children for a weekend. The home was well-kept and clean. The living quarters had everything you would want and the bathrooms had complimentary toiletries. The kitchen was completely stocked with all cooking tools and gadgets for whatever dish your heart desires. The patio was our favorite place to sit and enjoy the scenery and we were especially pleased that it was completely closed in with gates, making us feel comfortable letting our kids run around and play. For the price and location (a few miles from downtown) it was quite a steal!

This home is in a nice location. We used walking trails to go into town. The house is comfortable but could use a little attention. The management was a disappointment as they never contacted us to inform us of any problems. We had been in touch with the local manager who never made any resolutions.
Manager response:
We apologize for the lack of resolution this guest experienced. The property manager has coordinated with staff and the owners to avoid these issues in the future. Thank you!

Super comfy home from home, convenient for Squaw Valley / Alpine Meadows and the lake.

We wanted a house within walking distance to Tahoe City and this was it. 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms make it ideal for up to 6 people. Kitchen had everything we needed and it was a comfortable spot to be after skiing all day. Definately recommend Rawhide.

This home had an old school Tahoe charm and was clean and comfortable.

Very cozy and conveniently located house. Close to town, ski resorts and other amenities. House was clean and had everything we needed.

Great layout, great location. Oven not functional. Dog hair on carpets.
Manager response:
The oven is working and housekeeping is more aware of vacuuming the dog hair. Thanks!

- We loved the location and proximity to Tahoe City and Squaw.
- The house is modest but has everything you need and is pretty cozy and clean.
- Driveway / entrance to home was dangerous and had not been shoveled: we had to climb through several feet of snow at night to get into the house: not a warm welcome, but ultimately a warm and sufficient home for a weekend.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. Thank you a lot for hosting us!

Pros: This home is in a great location! Secluded enough for privacy but still close to town near banks, stores, and restaurants. The home is very clean and has a very cozy feel to it. My family and I really appreciated the winter clothes and boots available to guests ( we did not expect that much snow and were not prepared at all). This vacation home comes with everything you can possibly need to feel right at home. Overall a great vacation home for a family of 6.
Cons: The only complaint we have is that the oven does not work very well. We came prepared for our Thanksgiving dinner but our turkey did not cook properly even after being in the oven for over 6 hours. The oven's temperature was just really off. We ended up having to put our turkey in the BBQ pit to finish cooking. A new stove and oven would be great!
Manager response:
We apologize that this guest was having difficulty with the oven. The oven has been thoroughly cleaned and is now working very well; the right dial must be turned to the function guests would prefer, and the left dial is used to choose the temperature. Thank you!

A little dated décor-wise but overall it was a great place in a beautiful location. We had a wonderful experience.

This is a well-stocked and furnished little house in a convenient location. We especially appreciated the great selection of books, magazines, and games . The deck proved to be a relaxing place to read, the kitchen had everything we needed, and I loved the throw blankets on the sofas. I would recommend this for any small group or family.
Adrian O. Feb 2016
The property was perfect. Everything you need was clearly denoted in the guest binder or on notes throughout the house. Plenty of cookware to accommodate nice meals.

It was in a quiet and friendly neighborhood - I chatted for a few minutes with a nearby resident who was walking her dog.

I was really excited about the ski retreat with my husband and doggy. However, the strong cooking smell (like burned bacon smell) was a big turn off when we got into the house. I kept sneezing due to the strong smell and had headache because of that. Also, we didn't have hand towels in the mater bathroom. I called the mgmt office and they are friendly on the phone -saying that they will bring towels and have cleaning crew to get rid of the strong odor next day. They did bring few towels next day (I really appreciate that) but I dont think the cleaning crew actually tried to remove the smell because it was still there. I ended up cleaning up the stove hood by myself to get rid of the smell. Also, the kitchen mat was full of dog hair. I booked this vacation home because it allows pets but that does not mean the floor should not be vacuumed. I was very disappointed because the cleaning fee was not cheap ($175) so I would have expected a much cleaner place.
The house is cozy and in great location to restaurants but quiet although the interior is outdated- a couple of things need to be fixed.
Once I have cleaned up the stove hood (it should be the clean crew's job) and smell subsided in few days. Then, the trip was better.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review. We apologize that the home was not properly cleaned prior to your stay and that the odor was not addressed. We will make sure the home is thoroughly cleaned!

Good budget holiday house for up to 6 people, in a quiet location in the woods near Tahoe City. Not fancy but very well stocked with amenities and comfortable and reliabl. Not far from Squaw Valley ski area and others. It was a second happy visit from us.
Karlee H. Feb 2016
Great location just a 5 minute drive to downtown restaurants, ski rental shops and grocery store, but still secluded enough to have the Tahoe experience. Would love to come back and check out Granlibakken Resort right around the corner.
Scott C. Jan 2016
Simple, cozy and kid friendly. Close to good hiking, skiing and the lake. Will definitely go back!
Martin M. Jan 2016
My family and I found this property to be very welcoming and conveniently stocked and furnished. And taking little scenic hikes on some of the nearby trails were a bonus. We really couldn't think of one thing to complain about. We'd definitely stay here again!
Kristen B. Jan 2016
This was a very cozy home for us to stay in with our dog. Great access to a beautiful forested snowshoeing/cross country skiing trail just down the road. Super close to Tahoe City and only about 15 minutes from Squaw, which we visited twice during our stay. We got take-out one night from Spoon, a small home-cooked meal type of restaurant just down the road. So good! It snowed a couple of times while we were there and the large windows really allowed for us to appreciate the beautiful and quiet feeling of the snow falling. Felt private and overall was a great place for our family. Some things were a bit outdated, but we would stay there again for sure.

Also enjoyed neighborhood located on the edge of residential area with a natural feel while within walking distance to bike path and natural food store with good coffee.
John A. Jul 2015
Great location and property for three couples. Great neighborhood and all the things you need to make your vacation a success. Do not be afraid of the electronic wires for bear protection. They are there to protect the property when no one is around.

Great neighbors and neighborhood close to everything stores and restaurants.
