This was the perfect place to show off our beautiful coast to my visiting in-laws! This spacious home was well kept and had everything we needed to be comfortable. The views are amazing from the upstairs common area and the downstairs living areas and bedrooms. We found everything we needed in both kitchens. The main kitchen upstairs was especially well stocked with dishes, utensils and appliances of all kinds. The beach was a short 3 minute drive away, but there is a manageable access for the nimble a short walk away as well. My only suggestion would be to have a welcome binder with key information about the home (the TV remotes were a bit confusing), along with dining and activity suggestions. We loved the place and are planning to return!
Manager response:

We passed your comments along to our local manager to review and we appreciate guest’s preferences as a means to continually improve our homes. We look forward to hosting your next stay!

Thank you so much for the fantastic week at the Cliff House! We loved the home, the views, and the area. It was perfect for our family and we will definitely return for another stay!

ADA home. Great ocean view for those who want to escape and but don't necessarily need to walk the beach. For whale watching and beach watching it is awesome. Nice kitchen to fix meals. View from bedrooms wonderful also. Reasonably priced vacation.

This house has awesome views of the beach. If you don't mind stairs, the house was great with all amenities you might want. The maintenance support was great and timely. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a secluded quiet getaway. Thank you for a great visit.

It’s the view from the large living room and, downstairs, two bedrooms that is what gives value to this listing. The house has seen better days, and there are things in need of repair — a blind cord, a toilet seat anchor — or greater care — plants both inside and outside, lack of organization for kitchen items among the many storage drawers — or providing a better sense of welcome — paper towels (beyond the two half rolls provided), instructions for using the TV, ground coffee (at least for the first morning of our stay). The view is amazing, and it was a joy to watch the ocean’s daily changes. For a lot of us, that may be enough.
Manager response:
Mark Christopher, we are happy to hear you overall enjoyed your stay and the fantastic views this home offers! Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us and letting us know there is room for improvement. Our local manager confirms she is working with the homeowner to replace the blinds and toilet seat. We look forward to hosting you again!

The house was beautifully perched on the cliff with an expansive view of the beach. It was fun to watch the activity below (people were strolling, fishing, surfing, horseback riding etc.) Situated between Neskowin and Pacific City allowed for quick outings in either direction.
The home was very spacious, which allowed us to maintain social distance with our grown kids who came to stay with us. The kitchen is lovely, with 2 islands (one with a prep sink) and loads of kitchenware.
We used the large deck downstairs for dining. It has a lovely view, but it is quite inconvenient to the kitchen. Not only a long ways up and down a level, but requires that you go through the 2nd downstairs bedroom. I was also disappointed that the downstairs kitchen did not have anything but a few plates, glasses and cutlery. There was no coffee pot, toaster, cookware, or cooking utensils of any sort. We had hoped to use separate kitchens for the purpose of social distancing / safety, but that didn’t work out. The view from the upstairs kitchen is also annoying at first. It looks out onto the not so attractive flat roof of the lower floor, obstructing part of the beautiful view.
We drove to the beach, as the cliff trail was a bit precarious for us with a large dog. A wee bit inconvenient, but a lovely beach worth a daily stroll. The streets near the house are also nice and have some views if you want a shorter walk to stretch your legs or take the dog out.
Overall, we ended up really enjoying our stay. There are SO many places to explore and things to do nearby. And the house was a wonderful retreat. I miss the gorgeous view and the constant sound of the surf.
Manager response:
Hi, William! Thank you for staying with us. We are so sorry for the details that were amiss during your visit. We will ensure that all areas of concern are addressed appropriately. We hope you'll allow us another opportunity to host you.

The house has incredible views. Beach access is a little tricky if you aren't fully mobile--it a little scary either way. The steep staircase down the street from the house has a rope that you use to negotiate the rocks at the bottom. Same rope then stairs back up. This was particularly difficult with a small dog.

The house needed the carpets cleaned in a bad way, as there are several stains of unknown origin. Same applies to the light colored furniture upstairs. Steam cleaning would help tremendously. As a bit of maintenance, the screen part of the doors downstairs don't lock (glass door does lock) & they fall off track super easy.

A few tweaks & this would be amazing.
Manager response:
We appreciate your review, Samantha, and are glad you enjoyed the fantastic views. A carpet cleaning has been scheduled for the home. Please note that the beach access is marked as 'Enter At Own Risk.' Thank you!

We stayed at the cliff house in September, and it was beautiful! The kitchen was very open and had plenty of space for cooking/serving a big family. The deck and views and sound of the ocean were breathtaking.

Lots of room for an entire family upstairs and down, allowing both family and personal time to be easily accessed. Well stocked with pretty much everything you could need inside the house.

There are two trails to the beach from the house, a private shorter trail for the neighborhood to the left out of the driveway, which goes downhill leading to a rope doing down a rocky slope. The other trail to the right of the driveway is longer, tho slightly easier to navigate. The beach is very beautiful and quiet. Not too many people, and has a cave and sand islands in low tide. IMO, the beach access alone makes this house worth every penny!

The property manager, owner, and maintenance people were all very friendly, quick to respond and understanding. Upon arrival we noticed the chair lift didn't work, and the manager had maintenance over quickly to try to fix the problem. Always responded in a timely manner, and are very understanding.

The only negative thoughts about this house i could see would be the need to label the light switches (there are lots of lights inside the home) and that the driveway is difficult to navigate if there is more than one car parked there. Backing up can become difficult.

Even with the difficult parking, I plan on returning to this house on my future visits to the coast.

The view is beautiful and the layout of the house is wonderful, the path to the beach also isn't too bad as long as your children can walk without assistance. That's about all I have to say that's positive.

The photos and description are extremely misleading. The house sits on a huge 4-500 foot cliff, not a slight hill. Taking a trip to the beach is an excursion AFTER you locate the trail down which is not at the house but a block or two away. The photos were clearly taken with a fish eye lense to make the house look like it is a 5 minute jaunt when in reality it is almost a half an hour rough hike one way.

The carpets are dotted with stains throughout the house and we discovered the on-site steam cleaner was broken when we thought to clean a section for our toddler. The house and carpets smell musty and dirty. We also found the showers had hair and soap film left in them.

Plan on bringing your own kitchen items. We ended up having to buy our own utensils and a few cheap pots and pans because the house has almost nothing in the huge kitchen. The only kitchenware that was well stocked were the plates.

All three sliding glass doors needed maintenance, the women in our party struggled to open any of them and often had to wait for one of the men to go through. We also gave up on the screen doors after the first night since all of them are warped and falling out of their tracks. Several of the lights on the deck were burnt out and a bulb or two were even broken out so we couldn't use the deck for the first night or two.

Overall these issues didn't 'ruin' our trip but I attribute that more to us wanting to have a good time and to the fact that we know the area and where to go in order to work around alot of these issues since we have been visiting for decades. It just seems like every day brought a new annoyance that we had to waste time finding a solution for.
Manager response:
Hello Shane, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We apologize for the issues you had during your stay, as this is not the high standard of cleanliness and guest satisfaction that we hold ourselves to. The new homeowners are working on replacing and furnishing the kitchen appropriately. The carpets have all recently been deep cleaned. The sliding doors are heavy-duty doors as the ocean does take a toll on them and they are built for the coast. The trail to the beach is approximately a 5-minute walk from the home and is labeled as not for the faint of heart. There is beach access that guests can drive to as well. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope we have the chance to host you again.

This house was great! We had 6 adults and 3 younger children and there was plenty of room. It was very clean and well kept with the basics. It was situated in a place close to towns and with some of the greatest views ever! The beach access near the house was a little more difficult to use but we took our 4 year old down it with no problem! I would go back in a heartbeat!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The house had everything we needed to be comfortable and a kitchen with all of the tools we needed. We loved the big beach towels and the view from the decks.

One note: the upstairs bedroom with two twin beds has a glass door without any sort of curtain, making it a little tricky for privacy. Not a huge deal for us but potentially a big deal for those not traveling as a family.

The trail to the beach was no problem for older kids (ages 9-15) and our dog. It was very charming and a fun adventure for our youngest kid. The beach was secluded and so beautiful - we even had the opportunity to see a few whales go by off shore walking back to the house one morning. Definitely want to return soon!

This house has incredible views and easy access to a great beach. There is a lot of space in the home. While the house is three bedrooms, one bedroom has a glass door with no curtain. We did not use this room at all due to the lack of privacy. Hot water ran out really fast (and there are only 4 of us) so beware. We found out the day before leaving that the roads were closing and vacasa asked out to check out at 9am. We felt that was really early for a check out time so they let us stay until later which we really appreciated. Something that was challenging about our time here was it was very difficult to get in touch with a vacasa manager. We sent two emails and called multiple times and waited on hold for almost an hour. We wanted to get information about the road closure and the possibility of staying another night but they are hard to reach.

This house is CLEAN!! I’m picky but I was very happy about how good this place was taken care of. Beautiful views oh man!! The path up the road that leads to the beach was fun......It leads you to a rope that helps you down some rocks BUT it was cool if you don’t have little ones ;) My family had a fun adventurous time!! We WILL be back!!!

Amazing ocean view from most of the property,
Well stocked kitchen and newer furnishings.
The nearest beech access was an adventure and not for those with physical disabilities but there is an easier beech access by car nearby.
We had to call the property manager for a failed freezer and hot water issue in the master bath. They responded promptly but on a weekend could not fully correct either issue. Neither issue was significant for us though.
Would rent this property again.
Manager response:
We are glad to see you were satisfied with your accommodations despite a couple of setbacks. The fridge and hot water heater are working great at this time! Thank you!
Kelli O. Feb 2020
The location of the house is great with a beautiful view of the ocean. Wide open space inside the home and plenty of room. The home was pet friendly and extremely clean. Plenty of linens and also included a washer and dryer. The driveway is a bit narrow for a bigger vehicle.

Overall this house is pretty nice and we enjoyed our stay. There were a few things that really bothered us but these were little things and we were still able to enjoy the stay. I provided a list below of the things we enjoyed and then a list of things that could be improved upon for future guests.

The good:
Amazing views
New appliances
Cleaning supplies were well stocked which was nice not to have to worry about.
Great, large, open spaces. Good for my little one to run and play.
Master bath was large and practical.
No issues with the internet even in the lower level it worked great.
Cable worked fine.

The not so great/feedback:
Quite a few dirty dishes pulled from cabinets and drawers.
We vacuumed in some areas when we first got there to get rid of bugs and cobwebs.
No firewood for the wood burning fireplace.
No pellets or instructions for how to use the pellet stove.
Toaster wouldn't work for us.
Only a few knives.
Very few kitchen utensils.
Very limited seasonings.
A lot of empty cabinets and we would open everything looking for things. I would suggest labeling.
Limited blankets and pillows.
No beach access within walking distance for a family with a toddler in my opinion. The access was down a narrow, steep path which led to a cliff with a rope. Not family friendly but the house made up for it with awesome views.
Fireplace smoked up the main living room unless windows were open.
A board was missing from the lower patio deck which alarmed me as I brought my one year old son and dog and am glad I found it before he did. This is extremely dangerous and unacceptable.
Took us forever to figure out how to work the DVD player and after finally getting the movie going it skipped the brand new disc so bad we couldn't watch.
Master bath drain was finicky and didn't want to stay plugged all the time.
Manager response:
We are glad to see you enjoyed your stay here. The pellet stove is not an amenity, so pellets are not provided. The toaster and knives have been replaced, and we have taken inventory on the kitchen so we can replace what is missing. We have updated the beach access information and fireplace instructions and provided instructions for how to use the tub drain. The property manager has replaced the deck boards and the DVD player. We do hope to see you again. Thank you for staying with us!
