Nice being away from town without being too far away. You can not see any other cabins when you are sitting outside! You feel really secluded without being secluded

The location of this cabin was great, less than 10 minutes from pigeon forge and 20 minutes from Gatlinburg. It has a great view and was perfect for our family of four. Their were a few minor maintenance issues, but overall a great place to stay.

This is the third time that my wife and I have stayed at a SugarMapleCabins.com cabin in the Starr Crest Resort area of Pigeon Forge. The first time was in 2011, and the second time in 2012. In 2013 we moved to east Tennessee, so there wasn't much need to vacation in the Smokies (because we live here), but we thought it would be great to do this once again.

The other two times we stayed at these cabins, we saw the Always and Forever cabin while driving up the mountainside to our cabin rental. We always wanted to stay at Always and Forever, so this was our chance.

First, the good: We love the fact that this cabin has a king size bed on the second floor (loft) of the cabin. We slept there, rather than in the bedroom downstairs, as it was so nice to wake up to the vaulted ceiling and windows all around us. Kudos for the idea of the bedroom upstairs.

Now, the not so good. Too many things were not working properly in this cabin. Most of these cabins have a pool table and air hockey table, and this one was no exception. We found out on day 1 that the air hockey table wasn't working. It wasn't important enough for us to call and complain about, so we didn't say anything. A few days later, I ran the dishwasher for the first time. When it finished, the dishes looked like they hadn't been washed at all, so I ran it a second time, on Heavy load (the dishes weren't soiled much at all, so this was overkill). Again, the dishes were still dirty when the dishwasher finished. That time, I called management. They told me I'd hear back from them within the hour. 25 hours later or so, I called them again. They offered to send someone out, but we really didn't want our vacation interrupted, and we weren't using many dishes anyway, so I told them not to bother, and we'd just leave the dirty dishes in the dishwasher when we checked out.

The first few days that we were at the cabin, the weather was cool, so we didn't need the A/C. However, the last two days we needed the A/C. I turned the A/C on both upstairs and downstairs to 70 degrees. The upstairs cooled quickly. The downstairs never got below 73 degrees. Even when I lowered the A/C to 67 degrees, the upstairs went to 67 right away, but the downstairs never cooled off. The downstairs A/C wasn't working properly. I found out that same day that the right side of the toaster (4 slice toaster) wouldn't go down properly, but the left side worked.

Those were the obvious things that we found that were not properly operational (on top of insignificant things such as missing battery door on television remote control and things of that nature that don't really matter). Over $300 of the amount that we spent on the cabin rental was tagged as cleaning fee / management fee / taxes, and for that kind of money, I would expect that management would be keeping their eye on these large, obvious things.

The bottom line is, this was a disappointment compared to the other times that we've stayed in the same cabin resort. I don't know if it's because it's not 8 years later than the last time we stayed, if it's because of new management, if it's because this cabin just isn't as well kept as others in the same resort, or if it's because of something else entirely, but I can't rate this higher than 3 stars, especially because of what we've come to expect from this cabin resort.

It was clean and very peaceful I would just like to say the oven door needs attention tried to open and it came apart no bolts holding in the screws but other then that it was beautiful private we had a wonderful time and never left the canin. Many thanks

The cabin was very nice but we had no hot water. We called and were told they would have someone come look at it and when no one showed up, we called another number and were told it hadn’t been reported. After the second call, the actual repairman called and was on his way. We really like the Starr crest resort.

Cabin was beautiful and true to pictures listed. As beautiful as the cabin is, it was cheapened by the shower rod and plastic curtain covering the opening at the indoor jacuzzi where a wooden panel is missing. I shared some small details for maintenance with your office that really didn't affect me but might impact owner and other renters. Could use some new pillows. And small packs of coffee. Staying at any hotel, one would have free coffee in the room. It would have been a waste for me to buy my own coffee for just a few days.

I loved the cabin, there was a few things I wasn't expecting like how close you have to park your car to the road, and it is actually much smaller than the pictures make it look like, but the size was fine. The upstairs air wouldn't work but the staff was there immediately and got it going. Most of the remotes batteries was missing but we managed. I did like the area and distance it was from the main street. Like I said there was some little things but it worked out.
